If that were the team would Bennett take the kicks at goal? Anyone know what his stats are in terms of goal kicking?
Also, is Isles still some way off being ready for some wing action? Very keen to see him play.

Re: Glasgow Warriors v Ospreys Friday 28 March 14 1935 hrs Scotstoun Stadium
No decent kicker in that team, which is a bit of a worry, as this game is just too important and is likely to be close. I agree about Weir probably needing a rest but if so probably have to play Russell, who probably has a better boat anyway. Maybe he will give Weir one more game and rest him completely next time.
Ryan Wilson has had his week off, so I think he will be back somewhere, probably on the bench instead of Eddie. I have a feeling we will see Big Al somewhere in the squad as well, though that would not be my choice. I would stick with JG and TS with Big Naka on the bench, who truly is the definition of an impact player.
Vernon definitely deserves to keep his place. Do we rest Dunbar in such a big game, again it is a big call. He only played a half or so last week, so I think he will play again with Bennett on the bench. Maitland may start as well, or if not will certainly bench and get a bit more game time at least.

Jeez forgot Sean Maitland - - think I need a rest. Play him at 14 Seymour at 11 with Madman off the bench to create havoc for Cus

CI is supposedly playing for Ayr v Hawick at Mansfield Park this weekend in what will be his first 15 a side run out in Scotland. I would be very surprised if we see him in a Glasgow shirt this season, all the games are just to important now. A cameo of the bench at best somewhere down the line, especially if we are chasing a four try bonus point. That might work!

With Fife, Visser and Walker out injured, perhaps you could lend him to Edinburgh!?
Keep Kellock out of this. Swinson and Gray should start with Naka on the bench. They are frankly better players.

Agree with that. Kellock can play against the Italians but for this one he needs to pick his best team. I just hope he does!

Yes, you'll need to rotate at some point and the Italian fixtures are probably the right time to do that, giving Kellock, Ryder et al some game time as well.
It'll be a huge vote of confidence if Toonie gives Finn Russell the role at 10 for this one.

Our Eastern friends just do not get it. That is the galvanising effect that Kellock in particular and the Jedi have on Glasgow. Kellock is a leader who also got the biggest cheer of the night on Saturday when he came on with 20 to go. You see gents it is called leadership - something I realise you don't have - what with Laidlaw having all the leadership skills of Douglas Haig during WW1 ! It is also called heart and soul and being Glaswegian helps here too. These 2 guys along with fellow Glaswegians Dunky Weir, Jon Welsh and now Johnny Gray love the Warriors and love playing for them. So run along and watch your team of mercenaries fight it out for eighth or ninth in the league and we will try to get into the play-offs.

Glad to see the Schizoid one is maintaining standards; so far he has alienated the entire east coast of Scotland and anyone unfortunate enough to support the Hairsprays. And we're still on page one.
If Toonie goes with Gray-Swinson then it's either/or for Big Al and Jedi on the bench IF we want Naka as an impact sub, and who wouldn't? I think he'll start with Gray-Kellock and have Jedi and Naka giving lots of options.
If Jackson has been told to go henceforth by the SRU then will he be in the right frame of mind to play? I suspect we'll see Russell.
Cusiter must be due a rest so probably start with Pyrgos and have Madman on the bench, with McGuigan and Lee Jones. Murchie can slot in at 10 if needed with Niko at 15 (or NoMaits) and Jones on the wing.
Also, Bluto has said that the Scarlet Ladies were very physical so Wilson and Holmes may return for Fozzie and Bluto.
15 Murchie
14 Seymour
11Matawalu Maitland
13 Vernon
12 Bennett angel Dunbar could do with a wee rest
10Jackson - DW needs a wee rest too and has a broken nose, Russell
9Cusiter Pyrgos

5 Gray
4Swinson Our leader who art in Scotstoun

2 Hall
1 Reid
16 Yaya 17 Brown 18 Cross 19 Nakawara 20 Jedi 21Russell MadMata 22 Pyrgos Barry McGuigan 23 Isles (kidding of course) - Lee Jones
Of course I have used common sense and logical deduction...so Toonie's selection will look nothing like this.

Not a bad looking side, Dot. Interestingly enough that pack could be turning out for Scotland at the World Cup.
Cusiter's on great form at the moment so should start, but is he not getting close to a mandatory rest? (or am I just making that up?)
Wee Dunkie, however, probably looks like a panda after the smack to the face he took. I've said it before but the wee man is one tough hombre. I think he'll need to rest and recuperate. BUT, that leaves us with Russell or Jackson for a very big game. Hmmm.
Does anyone know how Hornee Furra Linee got on on Saturday?

Probably wishful thinking from me with regards Weir, although Toonie has not ruled him out yet, I would be surprised if he played. Think they will go for Jackson if Weir is out.
Good point about Cus and the mandatory breaks. Would be strange if he was asked to rest, considering he has hardly played during the last couple of months. If he is rested, could Pygros come in to kick goals, if Jackson is at ten?
Not sure how he played, but Horne came on as a replacement at the weekend and he tweeted that things went well, injury wise.

Well with Bennett off on a road trip to HK, Dunbar is clearly not going to get his rest this week, but that is probably no bad thing anyway. It is going to be him and Vernon in the centres and Horne covering from the bench. It will be good to see him back in a Glasgow shirt.

Schiz - they haven't been the 'Neath-Swansea' Ospreys since 2005.
That's like calling the east coast Pimms-drinkers 'Edinburgh Gunners'.
Apart from that, aces thread young man.

Whilst your overall point may be correct, although I disagree, comments like these undermine your point about things "not being funny". At the most he's insulted your rugby team but to somehow link this to "nob cancer", as you so eloquently put it, is ridiculous.

Pretty happy with the Glasgow team for this match. Looks like injuries decieded the more contentious selections for him. Be good to see what Finn Russell can do at IC and he presumably will take the kicks.
A good looking bench as well, so plenty of impact later in the game. I guess Harley or Ryder will cover second row as the othters all seemed to be crocked. I thought we might see Cross on the bench, but maybe he is being given a few weeks rest as well.

Re: Glasgow Warriors v Ospreys Friday 28 March 14 1935 hrs Scotstoun Stadium
From Glasgow forum:
"Finn Russell has been handed his fourth start for the Warriors, lining up at centre alongside Alex Dunbar for tomorrow’s crucial RaboDirect PRO12 match against the Ospreys at Scotstoun Stadium.Finn Russell
Ospreys are currently fourth and the Warriors are fifth in the PRO12, with just four points separating the sides. Glasgow have two home games in hand against Treviso and Edinburgh Rugby as they look to try and secure a play-off place.
Gregor Townsend has made three changes to the side that defeated Scarlets 14-6 at Scotstoun last Saturday.
Peter Murchie continues at full-back and Tommy Seymour and Niko Matawalu keep their places on either wing.
21-year-old Russell comes in at inside centre with Dunbar moving outside in place of Richie Vernon, who has been named among the replacements.
Duncan Weir and captain Chris Cusiter continue their half-back partnership.
Pat MacArthur comes in for Dougie Hall at hooker and he’ll play alongside props Jon Welsh and Gordon Reid in the front row.
Leone Nakarawa replaces the injured Tim Swinson in the second-row and partners Jonny Gray.
There are no changes to the back row with Rob Harley, Chris Fusaro and Josh Strauss all keeping their places in the starting XV.
The Warriors welcome back Scotland international Ryan Wilson, who has been named on the bench, while Sean Maitland continues his comeback from injury as a replacement.
Glasgow Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said: “This is our biggest game of the season so far with valuable league points up for grabs.
“It was an important win for us last weekend because Scarlets were one place below us in the league and tomorrow we play the team that are one place above us, so this is a crucial game.
"Ospreys are a very physical side with a number of good playmakers in their backs so we’ll have to be at our best defensively. Like any game against a top side, we'll have to seize any opportunity that comes our way.
“We are well aware of the huge challenge we face tomorrow night and we're looking forward to playing in front of a big crowd at Scotstoun and the Glasgow support will have a key role to play."
Tickets for the game against Ospreys at Scotstoun Stadium tomorrow (kick-off 7.35pm) are available from www.glasgowwarriors.org and from the ticket office at Scotstoun Stadium from 10.30am on Friday right up until kick-off.

Not available due to injury: Mike Cusack (medical/illness), Ryan Grant (hamstring), Ed Kalman (back), Al Kellock (shoulder), Sean Lamont (knee), Tom Ryder (knees), Tim Swinson (shoulder) and DTH van der Merwe (shoulder)."
Not too bad a side, although I would have preferred Matawalu to be held back on the bench for maximum impact on the game - either way!

9. Chris Cusiter (Captain)
1. Gordon Reid
2. Pat MacArthur
3. Jon Welsh
4. Leone Nakarawa
5. Jonny Gray
6. Rob Harley
7. Chris Fusaro
8. Josh Strauss
Substitutes
16. Dougie Hall

Not too bad a side, although I would have preferred Matawalu to be held back on the bench for maximum impact on the game - either way!

Toonie wrong foots us all again.
No second row cover on the bench but Holmes and Wilson are there so Harley can move into the engine room if need be.
Actually it's a well balanced bench with Jackson to cover 10 and Maitland for wing/15 if Niko goes to 9.
think it's a positive selection and looks like Toonie will be hoping for a fast, high tempo off-loading game.
Does anyone know of a rugby friendly hostelry in Madrid where I could watch this tomorrow? I'm sure MrsPip would consider that a crucial pert of her birthday weekend away.

This is going to come down to Weir. Will he be able to shake off his Scotland Hangover or not!
Really hope that Russell is not going to suffer "shifting about syndrome" Could really do with him settling in at 10.

Which is probably why Russell starts at 12. He can take some of the playmaking duties and if Weir needs to go off then he shifts in tt10 and Richie Vee comes on.
I'm worried that I'm beginning to see Toonie's logic.

Its not necesserily a bad thing. Plenty of decent 10's (Wilkinson & Farrell for starters) have been eased in at 12 to find their feet and confidence. I think the most important thing for him at the moment is to get game time at this level.

GC, not overly confident about Niko marking anyone.
Any side which has Adam Jones, Bearman and Fussell on the bench has ttbe taken seriously.

There are 77 clubs within the region, I didn't count if you had them all but just thought I'd add that to show the extent of which labelling them Neath-Swansea Ospreys is wrong.PenfroPete wrote:Aberavon -Aberavon Green Stars-Aberavon Quins-Abercrave-Alltwen- Baglan-Banwen-Betws-Birchgrove-Blaengarw-Bonymaen-BP Llandarcy-Bridgend-Bridgend Athletic-Bridgend Sports-Briton Ferry-Brynamman-Bryncethin-Bryncoch-Burry Port-Cefn Cribbwr-TATA Steel-Crynant-Cwmafon-Cwmgors-Cwmgwrach-Cwmllynfell-Cwmtwrch-Dunvant-Fall Bay-Glais-Glyncorrwg-Glynneath-Gorseinon-Gowerton-Heol y Cyw-Kenfig Hill-Maesteg-Maesteg Celtic-Maesteg Harlequins-Morriston-Mumbles-Nantyffyllon-Nantymoel-Neath-Neath Athletic-Penclawdd-Penlan-Pencoed-Pontardawe-Pontarddulais-Pontycymer-Porthcawl-Pyle-Resolven-Rhigos-Seven Sisters-Skewen-South Gower-Swansea-Swansea University-Swansea Uplands-Taibach-Tondu-Tonmawr-Tonna-Trebanos-Tycroes-Tylorstown-Vardre-Waunarlwydd-Ystalyfera-Ystradgynlais OSPREYS

Good god boys, it was an honest mistake. Look I'll tell you what, I'll give you the address of Schiz's holiday home and you can burn it down. That'll make you feel better.
Here it is ... Mr Johnson's office

Jimbo, do you think this is Schizoid's revenge for the Ospreys allowing Johnson to leave us to take over Scotland?
