This Glasgow vs Ospreys game is dire. Its quite an indictment on the standard of the Rabo this season (outside of the big 3) that one of these teams is going to make the playoffs. Neither of them can string a backline move together for toffee and I dont think either of them has a chance in the playoff semi-finals especially away from home.

Not sure about that, this is just a very competitive game with 2 very good defense in very windy conditions.

Been very impressed by the Ospreys number 16, big strong carries. Constantly shrugging off tackles.

Torn between my desire for a draw that would help Ulster and my desire to see some kind of positive attacking move finished off...

Fake injury there from the ospreys following Biggars drop goal. Should be aloud to take the kick off quickly

Yep well played Glasgow in the end. Ospreys will regret not putting away their try scoring chances (1 in the first half and the other in the second).
Got to feel sorry for Baker who for me looked the best player on the park today in my view. Hard to believe he's only 21.

Nerve shredding stuff! A very tight game that we did not deserve to lose! Whether we deserved to win is a moot point as well!

The mad Fijian came good in the end.
Re: Glasgow Warriors v Ospreys Friday 28 March 14 1935 hrs Scotstoun Stadium
In fairness it was cup rugby - I actually enjoyed it even though it was all about defences. Think this may be the result that will secure Glasgow's semi final place.
Bit of a wake up call to Welsh sides because they need to up the intensity right from the start on the Pro 12. All to often they leave it late in the season to up their games and its just becoming far to competitive not to take every game extremely seriously.
Glasgow do look good but its hard to see past Munster & Leinster at home and the way they have both played in the Pro 12 this season. But they will have a chance to upset the apple cart.

Good result Glasgow, impressive defence as always, and the two mad Fijians were outstanding. Cracking finish from Seymour. Shame Weir didn't kick better, would have spared the nervous finale.
Thought the ref was poor at the breakdown. AWJ got away with all sorts.

Well done Glasgow. Got no favours from the ref and made a lot of errors but asserted their dominance in the scrum and hardly let the Ospreys make any breaks. Needed a couple of last ditch tackles but made them. Weir a good game, Russell looked lively. Well deserved win

Does Niko intend to do what he does or is it just the balance of probability that sometimes it works? Having said that he should have scored at the end, he seems to find the hardest way of doing something easy, and the easiest ways of doing something hard.

This TV review thing is challenging, the ref was standing right beside them when they were contesting the kick and waved play on, but we still have to go to a replay and a five minute break. Its not helping the look or flow of the game

To be honest the Japan tour showed us he wasn't up to International standard and that was in the backrow. Ospreys are persisting with playing backrows in the boilerhouse and that's a fatal flaw. Both Tyler and King are blindside flankers. Trying to move them into the second row is lunacy. They don't have the bulk or height to play there.
Ospreys really need to pick up 2 or 3 locks in the off season because without Ian Evans around they don't actually have any proper options there. Rest of the side does look like it has quite a bit of quality in it. If they can develop some proper locks they could come good next year again.

Re: Glasgow Warriors v Ospreys Friday 28 March 14 1935 hrs Scotstoun Stadium
It was not pretty but its a win and should be enough to get us into the play offs. Still very frustrating to watch though, still going for to many miracle off loads but maybe one of these games it will finally click.
The defence was ever so impressive though, Harley would have been my man of the match but the whole team put their bodies on the line. Whoever we play now they are going to have to work very hard to beat us and at some stage we are going to cut loose, you have got to keep believing that!

Wouldn't disagree but I would point out I thought Glasgow should have had a card for their ruck offence on their own 5 metre line not to mention a few clear cut holding offences that the ref allowed Glasgow to clear out without pulling it up. So you could argue he actually made equally bad calls for the Ospreys during the match. For me the lack of yellow card on a professional foul probably being the most clear cut of all of them.

I disagree regarding kicking, I think we should keep him at 12 for now and keep the kicking duties away from him let's not rush in like we did with Jackson, let him develop for this season and the start of next with a view to him moving to 10 during the international window in November and then go from there. A backline with him and Matt Scott in it could be potentially fantastic especially with the running lines of Dunbar or Bennett at 13 and Visser,Hogg and Maitland in the back three.

Richard fussell was against finn Russell tonight haha
I agree Russell should be kicking and probably playing 10. Even though Nicos passing was poor he does add a spark that glasgow need because they did not looking threatening tonight and a top team would of easily won that.

How about when Matowalo was taken off the ball without having his hands on it by an offside player at a ruck? Three different offences

Think that defence will keep them in good stead. They will need it though because its looking like a semi final at the RDS against Leinster. They got the team to do it but Leinster have been outstanding in the league this season. Its going to be a very very hard match for Glasgow. Had it be at home I would back them to win against anyone in the league.

Re: Glasgow Warriors v Ospreys Friday 28 March 14 1935 hrs Scotstoun Stadium
Russell looked very comfortable at 12, much as he did at SO when he played earlier on in the season and he took the kicks then to good effect, so I would not worry about him kicking, it seems to come quite naturally to him.
The good thing is that he clearly looks very comfortable at this level, the step up has not phased him. He just needs to keep getting game time and he will keep improving. No doubt a very good prospect for the future.
Vernon had another decent game when he came on as well and didn't Seymour take the try well, a real poachers effort! There is clearly still some life in the Scotland backline!

Our away form has been better this year than home form, and we've lost two years in a row at the RDS and we've been getting closer so I think this year could be ours
