Proper Rugby in Wales !

Caught about an hour of the Welsh Principality play off between Carmarthen Quins and Cross Keys yesterday on S4C. Techincally not the greatest game but great to see good old fashioned rugby with commitment, props who appear to have bulked up on Brains rather than protein shakes, young lads, old stagers and even a bit of swearing coming over on the pitchside mikes!

Will definately be tuning in for the final!

I remember playing London Welsh 3rds years back on one occasion.  The team looked a shaggy dog of ex semi-pros, stick thin youngsters and portly old social chaps... even had a 50+yr old fully grey lad on the wing who looked like he was going to cop it any second.... they were a decent outfit though, all had top skills which defied age and fitness and the 50+yr old even managed a try.

Eventually beat them by fitness alone in the end, the rest they had us beat.

I remember asking the old winger in the bar after when was the last time he scored a try, tapped me on the should and said.. double figures every year my young friend!
