The Official "Ipswich Town win the 2014/15 Championship playoffs against Norwich in the final" thread
First topic message reminder :
This is the most important season in many years for Ipswich. The foundations of the team are there, a few more players need to be purchased, ideally some wingers, a right back and an attacking midfielder. Aaron Cresswell will be sold to raise funds for players in the summer as well as scott loach and paul taylor. SEB won't be staying on. Paul Green, Stephen Hunt and Frazer Richardson are possible free signings in the summer
Likely starting line-up:
Gerken
Hewitt Chambers Berra Mings
New RW Hyam Skuse New LM
Murphy McGoldrick
COYB

We're not the underdog, we're the favourite I'd say. Which is why I'm less confident cos we never do as well when expected to win

You boys gonna need some serious injection of something that isn't a journeyman or lump
No pace or guile barring McGoldrick. You've got weaker in a stronger league. Tough season lays ahead

Mick is slowly turning this club in a downward spiral, he's getting rid of all the creative players and is leading to no creativity in the team. No goals in 3 of the 5 games this season has suggested that

Brilliant September for town, 10 from 12 points. We kept McGoldrick and Mings who are both premiership quality and have brought youth into the side e.g. Teddy Bishop. 1 point off the playoffs aswell!!

Daryl Murphy was absolutely awesome again, player of the season and top scorer in the championship with chris Martin. Tyrone Mings continues to prove he's a class above and players like jay tabb, stephen hunt and kevin bru played superbly.

Joniesta out for a month due to the cynical play from the watford centre back, good time to be injured i guess though

He was great for us Marky, came through our youth system and made nearly 200 appearances. He got badly injured on his debut for Ipswich, don't think it really worked out for him there after that. I saw him play a lot, wouldn't be surprised if he did really well for you.
TOTC...I see you have signed Freddie Sears our top goalscorer today, any thoughts about that signing?

I'm chuffed for Freddie, always liked him but he wasn't gonna make it at West Ham. Hope he gets some games and gets the chance to prove himself at Champ level

I was at the millwall game yesterday and freddie changed the game for us, he gave our team a bit of pace and he ran the channels brilliantly. He gave a great assist for our 3rd goal so i think he could be a great signing for town.
Wordsworth I liked as a player, he's a good passer of the ball and isn't afraid of a tackle or two, league one is probably his level though

Good to hear that Freddie made an impact on his debut. Enjoyed watching him play during his 3 years with Col U and wish him success in the future. Hope he does well for you

Shame, was hoping Ipswich would have won last night.
Still a good chance of going up.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

Tbf though I'm really concerned how bad the championship has become. What I've seen of Ipswich on the telly and last night is there very average.
Admittedly they were missing Teddy Bishop and Dave McGoldrick
