Leinster to win because they're a big load of cheater mccheats and get all the home town decisions from the officials.
Would be nice to see BOD go out with one more trophy though.

Yes, we'll be needing a translation baord again.
P.S. Mick have you seen the trailer for the soon to be in cinemas Jemaine Clement offering? 'What we do in the shadows'. It looks quite conchordy

Glaswegians in "not living up to stereotype" shocker.

Looks to be it. Can't see him playing for the Ba bas.whocares wrote:is that BOD last game or will he get a farewell game later?
He has had his last intl game. In Stade de France. IRFU made a fuss of him in his last appearance in Lansdowne.
Leinster made a fuss of him in the last league game as they don't control the knockout games in the RDS.
This is the one. End of an Era.
Just happy he has got this far without major injury, and that we have got to see him week in week out in the RDS and Donnybrook for so long.

Would absolutely love to come over for this one but with a 2 year old and a 3 month old at home, those heady, water-coloured days of weekend passes have long since gone.
The identity of my pint proxy depends which of the weegie fans on these boards is nice to me. Let the bidding commence, my fellow soap dodgers.
In terms of an injury update, there has been very, very little given away by the club, so we are assuming that we should have pretty much everyone available until someone tells us otherwise. The only real casualty that we know of is Ryan Wilson who is out for 3 months to let a shoulder surgery settle. But the bigfeller wasn't going to get into the starting 23 in any event.
Bear in mind when dishing out sympathy points that we have played for the entire season without our first choice tighthead (Big Mike Cusack) and our first choice left wing and club's record try scorer (DTH van der Merwe). Not that it's been fatal, mind.

Schitz, that's exactly the XV I'd go for, barring any further injuries.
My suggested bench:
16. WeePee
17. Roddy
18. Doctor Jazzy Geoff
19. Knackerawa
20. Sherlock/Jedi
21. Fresh Prince of Fiji
22. Rhubarb
23. Peter Pan
My choice of backrow sub really depends on whether we think Fozzy can last the full 80, or if he'll cramp up again. He's too good to leave out, though.

Bru, top notch in the humour stakes. I particularly love the idea of Roddy Frame leaving Aztec Camera and morphing into Roddy/Ryan Grant the flying Prop.
You have obviously been spending time with the right people.

I almost totally agree with you on this one. 11-14 are no-brainers. Ditto half-backs. Actually the only debate might be at TH, but it should be Grant/Shrek if both are fit. The Ruck Inspector plays because (a) the line out misfired after he went off on Friday, (b) he's the Ruck Inspector. 15, ah well! Is MyTryLeaveIt fit? Did the PeterPan do anything wrong on Friday?
There are only two caveats about your selection;
after Friday's collisions there must be some very sore limbs at Scotstoun,
Toonie will do something totally Toonie.
So, don't be surprised to see; Meatball at 10, FurraLinee at 15, Vernon at 13 and Western Isles on the bench. Lee Jones at 6, obviously.

PS glasgow by 1. Last minute Weir dropgoal. Yes Weir - that's the other disagreement I have with Schiz's team.
I won't be making it as I am too used to being an armchair fan as an exile down here in Londontown. I should probably go watch London Scottish mind.

I've a mate from Glasgow looking to buy two tickets from the Glasgow allocation (unlikely he'll get any of the Leinster ones if he's not a season ticket holder). Looking on the Warriors website I've got to this link but no info about the final.
https://www.eticketing.co.uk/scottishrugby/default.aspx
I've told him to call the number listed and chance his arm. Am I on the right track here?

He's FROM Glasgow but he lives here now, so he doesn't need to travel. We've pieced together the story here (I think).
Leinster fans get 9k, Glasgow fans get 9k, Leinster season ticket holders need to "register their interest" for a ticket by today, Glasgow season ticket holders need to buy theirs by today, whatever Glasgow don't sell goes to fill the difference between 9k and all interested Leinster fans, and whatever is left goes on public sale on Friday.
Clear as mud.

If 6,000 fans travel, that's pretty good going.
That's hard earned money we would otherwise have spent on deep fried chocolate, crystal meth or Kappa tracksuit bottoms.

Decent looking outfit, C21st - I'd also be tempted to bring Hoggy back for this one, altho I might keep Grant over Reid (just).
That gives a bench of MacArthur, Reid/Grant, Cross/Low, Swinson, Niko's mate, Niko, Jacko/Meatball, Schlong

After we ended up a forward short on Friday and Schlong in the back row I think Toonie may well be tempted by a 6-2 split. However, if he puts the Vernonator on the bench he can still have a 5-3 split but have an experienced back rower available.
Of course all of this is just so much verbiage, like asking Schiz which part of Edinburgh he would most like to live in, until we see the injury list.

A 6-2 bench is probably no bad idea, but if he goes that way then it has to be Niko and Hoggy on it as they can cover every position in the backline between them. That may actually be the only way that Hogg gets into the 23. It would be very tough on Murchie to be dropped after the way he played against Munster, but it is start or nothing for him, I can't see him being on the bench. Dilemmas, Dilemmas, who would want to be a coach, how do you pick between the two of them?

To be fair the only reason shlong had to play flanker was because Strauss went off injured early and fusaro came off injured after all other subs had been made - that doesn't happen often, and isn't really something you can predict!
You just know if he goes for a 6-2 forward split 3 backs will end up injured!
And as far as a back playing in the forwards goes, Lamont is surely capable of doing a job??

A 6-2 bench scares me. Have we ever had a 6-2 bench? Just looked back at the subs listed for the Munster, Zebre, Treviso and Edinburgh games and it's always been 4-3.
If that's right, I wouldn't be inclined to change our bench strategy now. The last game with Fozzy going down with cramp and a head injury in the last 10 minutes was exceptional. But you need the option of having at least 2 scrum halves and 2 fly halves in your 23. That's why I think our bench should be Niko, Rhubarb and then a utility back of your choice (Murchie, Horne, etc). One of the reasons that we always finish so strongly in games is the bench impact of the Fijians in particular.

Fixed that for you, GC. Tho Toonie has quite often gone 6-2 this season

Fair enough. I am increasingly having Senior Moments and can't remember when we ever have. Having guys like Naka and Harley who can genuinely play lock as well as loose forward and stand offs who are also used to playing in the centre (to say nothing of a 9 comfortable on the wing) have been a massive plus this year. Again, I think a 6-2 would be a mahoosive mistake and we'll invariably end up with Geoff Cross on the wing as a result.AsLongAsBut100ofUs wrote:George Carlin wrote:A 6-2 bench scares me. The weegies have the very man for the job - Ritchie Vernon the back row turned centre

For this game I would like to see a bit more Fijian madness from the start. Although I do watch big Naka waving the ball around in one hand from behind the sofa but he does make some great offloads. Its a game to go all out for the win and IMO the way to win it is to take the game to Leinster from the kickoff.

Actually, what really impressed me about Knackerawa was his defensive skills - he has a brilliant combination of bulk, line speed and a broad reach which makes him particularly strong in a 'jackeling' 6/8 role.
If by some chance Strauss isn't fit, I'd be very happy with Leone starting at 8, particularly as another line out option. He also adds something in attack - his streak up field on 70-ish minutes was a thing to behold, and only excellent Munster defence in tackling Jackson prevented a brilliant try.

I see that good old Nige is refereeing the game, which is good news. Leinster V Glasgow games have been some of the best games the league has ever seen in recent years, and especially when he has been reffing them.
