Got to go to the bin surely! They killed the ball on their own line.

he "just got his timing wrong", wonder if owens has just been thinking of that one whilst the kick was taking place.

I'm still fuming, how can he justify not giving a card? It was text book! They killed the ball on their own line, plain and simple. He's bottled it twice.

Re: England XV vs New Zealand First Test
Owens said on halfway line the only thing that saved Fekitoa was he thought England player wasn't on the ground. Very dubious call though as it was cynical.

Re: England XV vs New Zealand First Test
Killed the ball cynically a metre from the line and still no yellow card. Owens bottles it again. He's been dire today. Bottled to yellow card decisions, phantom knock ons and the refusal to make a decision at the scrum.

If youd told me before the game England would still be level after 67 minutes I'd have bitten your hand off : now I'm disappointed...

He should have just played the lineout and let play go on.
Such nitpicking... I certainly didn't think it was worth a penalty.

NZ look rudderless without Read, McCaw appears to be wearing his invisibility cloak all the time, not just at breakdowns.
Reminds me of the Ireland v New Zealand game from a few years ago - but no Dan Carter for a last minute drop-goal this time

Correct call, but Owens should have done the same with NZ. He's been awful Owens, really awful.

Re: England XV vs New Zealand First Test
Oh no, now the yellow card comes. The call is correct but it should be 14 against 14. I do feel for England. They don't deserve to be 3 points down. Nigel Owens has not had a good game. Where's GE to write a Eden Park factor thread because it's difficult to think Owens hasn't been influenced by the home crowd.

Owens inconsistent and playing to the crowd. Shocking from him today.
Once again England get to the 22 through the backs and then the forwards fail to provide any ball. Wilson has been diabolical in the loose does he have hands or hooves? Thankfully he can scrummage.

Re: England XV vs New Zealand First Test
England have given some really cheap points to the ABs. Along with all the poor handling and reckless couple of decisions they'll only have themselves to blame for losing this match.

No arms from Smith on Cipriani there?
Being pedantic I accept but diving at a players feet is going to send them flying and it's not like you can control their landing!

Just not fair is it , mate? It spoils a potentially interesting evening. Always seems to happen!
How many successive matches have the ABs won at EP? Is it 29 or something?
All tied up at 15-all now. (Cipriani must have visualised a full cocktail glass floating above the black dot there!)

Re: England XV vs New Zealand First Test
Owens gets all the plaudits when he does his usual good riffing, but he has had a shocker today, clear yellow when AB killed the bal on the line, knockons by May and Burns that went backwards and then the yellow for Yarde when AB didn't get yellow 10 mins ago.....awful display of reffing

At least you never have to put up with that idiot Wayne Barnes.... Is he related to Stuart, because neither understand the game.

Re: England XV vs New Zealand First Test
Poor from England with the initial penalty against Marler. Needed to regroup and get support to the ball carrier or kick long and allow the defensive line to regroup.
