Welcome to Season 7 of the Aviva Premiership fantasy rugby game. Below are the rules of the game which must be adhered to. If there are any situations that arise in the course of the game which are not covered by the rules, a final decision will be made by the RFU (SJE) as to how the situation will be resolved.
Senior Squads wrote:
The maximum squad size is 40 senior players. If a team has more than 40 players in their squad then they will be fined £1 million per player over the permitted amounts per day for the first seven days. If after 7 consecutive days a team still has more than the permitted number of players then the team will be fined £2 million per player per day, and fined 1 league point per player per day for the next seven days. If after this time a team still has more than the permitted number of players in their squad, the RFU (SJE) will remove players at its discretion to bring them back under the permitted numbers. There will be no right of appeal to players being removed.
Be aware that all tier one international matches which are played during the season will count in the game, and players selected in the match day 23's for those matches will not be eligible to play for their clubs on that weekend, therefore you must give due consideration to the make-up of your squad.
Academy Rules wrote:
Each team will be allowed to have an academy squad of 20 players. Players who are in the academy must be born on or after 1st September 1992.
Any player, who is at any Premiership club in real life, either in their senior, academy or AASE squads, can be bid for on the domestic bidding page. Players who are at your own club in real life and are coming through the academy system must be bid for if you want them in your own academy.
Transfers wrote:
- Domestic (other AP Teams)
Each team has a budget to use in the purchase of players. Domestic transfers between AP clubs, regardless of nationality of player, should be negotiated between the respective managers, and then confirmed on the Domestic Transfer Confirmation Page.- Domestic (Championship and below)
Each team may during the season purchase no more than 5 players from the Championship or the National Leagues. These players must be bid for on the National League Bidding page, and each bid will be considered by me on its own merits before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.- Foreign
To make a foreign transfer (i.e. from any club outside of the AP, regardless of whether the player is English) a bid should be made on the Foreign Transfers Page, which will be considered by me against the posted guidelines for purchase prices before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.
There will be a summer foreign transfer window, which will run as follows.
Open Window
Open transfer window, teams have unlimited bids provided they have the financial resources to cover them. Teams may only bid for one player at a time.
The window will open from the 9th of June but only to those sides that finish 8th and below at first. They will have a week to make one signing each before the window is open to all.
Player Releases wrote:
Managers may choose to release players from their clubs, for which they will be offered compensation
Compensation will be paid as follows
£2 million – current international (must have played international rugby in the previous 12 months)
£1.5 million – former international
£1m – top flight experience
£0.5m – other
All released players will be deemed to have joined a Championship side and can be bid for on the National League Bidding page.
Retirements wrote:
There will be no compensation for retiring players. Should a player who retires decide to come out of retirement and play again, then he will automatically go back to the club who he was playing for in the game when he retired.
Fixtures wrote:
There will be 22 Aviva Premiership games per season, plus the play offs. There will also be European Rugby Champions Cup, European Rugby Challenge Cup and Anglo Welsh Cup matches. These games will take place once a week. A match thread will be put up every Monday. Home teams must be named by midnight on Tuesday. Away teams must be named by midnight on Wednesday. Failure to meet these deadlines is punishable by the addition of three match points to the oppositions final score, unless both sides fail to do so. Both teams must provide tactics by midnight on Thursday. Predictions will be open from 00:01 hours on Friday and remain open until 15:00 hours on Sunday. Managers will post the scores that they think will happen from these games (apart from games in which they are involved). An average of all predictions will be taken, and then 0.5 points added to each teams score for each prediction that had them as the winner, and that will then be the final score.
Managers are asked to provide detail as to why they have predicted a result. To be considered a descriptive prediction this must be a full 3 lines long when entered into the text box.
Teams wrote:
When naming your team, not only should you put the starting XV and replacements, but also tactics that your team will employ. Results will be affected by the tactics described.
In addition, each team must have the following:-
For domestic competition at least 8 England qualified players in your match day 23, and at least 4 of those must be in your starting XV.
For European competition at least 8 England qualified players in your match day 23, and at least 6 of those must be in your starting XV.
At least 2 props and 1 hooker on the bench.
All players must be eligible (not injured or banned).
Failure to comply with these rules will result in a 1 league point deduction.
If you fail to submit a team for a match, then the other team will be automatically awarded a 30-0 bonus point win. If both teams fail to submit a team, then it will be scored as a 0-0 draw.
Injuries and Suspensions wrote:
Injuries in this game do NOT reflect real life, they will be generated by me.
Players banned in real life will be ineligible for selection in this game for the duration of the ban.
Inclusion of injured/banned players will result in them being replaced by players on the bench, and the bench not having eight players, which may result in punishment if it concerns the front-row.
Punishment for fielding an ineligible player will be loss of one match point.
Financial Rewards wrote:
There will be no rewards for the result of an individual match, instead the managers will receive cash for predicting.
£2m for descriptive predictions
£0.25m for scores on the doors predictions
If you fail to predict without first advising me that you are unable to do so that week, you will be fined £1m for a first offence, £2m for a second offence, £3m for a third offence etc upto a maximum of £5m per fine.

Re: Season 7 Homepage I
Budgets updated.
Brown is going to have a lot of work to do covering for Tuilagi. Looks a silly decision to me. Want him getting his hands on the ball as much as possible. Would have been happy with a Burrell/Tuilagi midfield if its power Lancs is going for. 36 needs a big performance with Eastmond breathing down his neck.
Not sure on Ashton on the bench only covers wings and not an impact player. Would have been happier seeing Eastmond/May there.

Re: Season 7 Homepage I
England midfield is a really tricky one, if you want Burrell and Tuilagi you need a more naturally creative 10 than Farrell to pick their running lines.
See why Lancaster picks Twelvetrees, as gives him the kicking option outside Farrell and option to play left and right off scrums - not sure that Twelvetrees is the right player for us, certainly needs a massive game after Eastmond's performance.
Savea back for ABs will make a difference to their backline, but glad Read isn't ready yet as don't think Kaino is an international class no8 compared to how good he is at no6, Messam seems to drift in and out of games and McCaw doesn't seem as fast as he once was.

Re: Season 7 Homepage I
I really like this side we've picked. Understand some not happy changes have been made, but the likes of Care, Farrell, Wood, 36 were all very good in the 6N and it's their shirt right now.
36 and Burrell were very good during the 6N together, and gre and grew as a partnership. I'm very excited by Tuilagi out wide. Bit more space and time might see him cause havoc. Need him on the ball though. Brown and Tuilagi countering could be sensational.
I think Lancaster has hardly put a foot wrong in his tenure. He's building a hell of a squad, not just team, perfectly in time for the world cup.
Still go Corbs and Cole to come back in too. Exciting times.
Saying all that, we could very well get battered Saturday...

Be interesting to see if cole gets back in for me. Cole has struggled in scrum in some big gAmes.
Cole is an athlete but Wilson a much stronger scrummager.
May see both get picked for games depending on opposition.
Likewise Corbs will have a battle to displace Marler who is approaching world class.
Great problems to have

Back up 15 probably Prop. Henshaw looking like a 13 long term. Possibly another winger as well Fitz/Thompstone can be injury prone so won't always have good ratings

Ok cool, I'm hoping Henshaw comes through as a 13 anyway! Got Sergeal Petersen to come of age and hopefully Harry Robinson too!
Cheers for the feedback, happier with how it looks with Leuia in there.

Toomaga Allen is a very good shout. I really like him. Surprised he is not ahead of faumuina who is poor
In my opinion.
Henry Thomas will come through nice for you Chris. He is young and it takes time.
He did well last week when on and is also good around park. All props have to take a few hammerings. Physical strength and technique take time. Next season or two he will come on strong

No issue with faumuina around the park it's just his scrum work. Same with franks. Both are good athletes but not great at core job.
Nz can really be got at in the scrums. Woodcock is not properly fit but there's no one else.
Can't understand why Big Ben does not get a chance. He is getting better and better although still not needs fitness work

Crockett has issues scrummaging wise which is why they keep patching woodcock up. However woodcock is obviously not fit so they should look at him.
Did Crockett come on vs Thomas or Wilson? Hard to work out if it was their changes or our ones that made the scrum even up. Wilson Dow tire at 60 like most th's.
Big Ben had a good season in a stuttering chiefs side.
Thing is in nz there is so much emphasis on handling and carrying that they have neglected set piece a bit and it's starting to show.
They got decimated vs Argies last year and England always have the wood on them in this aspect
To be fair the Argies had Ayerza and Figallo as props who are arguably the best in the world but even so it was ugly.

Not far off what most of us picked on here. I think the pack is set in stone bar 8 with Morgan impressing.
Burrell/Tuilagi is the centre partnership most want to see and a back 3 of Yarde/Aston/Brown is probably the form trio.

Ashton got more than 10% than May so hardly mixed.
Morgan & Billy the closest with 8% the difference.
Shame for May really, I thought he'd step up but has just lacked a bit of nous at the top level. Hopefully he'll go away and kick on.

There will also be a predictions bonus for the summer tournament games. 3m for full (average 3 lines per match) and 1m for scores. Predict every week and you should be looking at 2/3 academy signings or a full international.

We offered him a deal but not until recently apparently. He played 9 at U20 level but has played 10 since and apparently prefers 10.
Only rumour we've had is Tommy Allen, could be something in it with only two 10's on the books.

Apparently Ryan mills will be signing for quins. Worcester have been offered transfer fee. In last weeks citizen and more rumours today.
Be a good signing. Great talent and far too good for championship. Looks standout at 10 or 12 for glos in ap and heino. Big loss for us

Yes such a waste if he does end up at wuss.
Most glos fans would rather him than 36 who just does not play well for us.
Quins would be a great fit as they do struggle at 12
Mills was first choice ten ahead of burns for most season when fit.

Boks struggling at centre.
We're meant to be playing jdj this series but he dropped out hence Jp pietersen. Throw in a load of injuries and you get Olivier back in http://www.planetrugby.com/story/0,25883,3551_9347471,00.html
Jordaan is a class act and will be involved in longer term.
No jdj Jdv or steyn. Shows their depth serfontein is top. Is englebrecht injured?
Down to bare bones at lock also and that is Bakkies and matfield which again shows their depth.
Pick the right side and boks best in world
Fully fit
1 beast
2 BDP
3 JDP or Coenie(JDP close to chop due to penalty count problem bit either decent
4 Etzbeth
5 flip or PDT
6 Alberts
7 Louw/Burger
8 Vermaulen
9?? Pienaar struggles at int and FDP needs to be playing s15
10 steyn/goosen/ pollard/ boschoff no one putting hand up
11 Habana
12 JDV
13 Englebrecht/ serfontein or JDJ
14 pietersen
15 WLR
Countless bench options. Get a consistent 9 and 10 and stick with it and they are golden. Pienaar not the answer and level of resentment back home means he will drop away. Good player but to slow at clearing away for int level these days. Suits ulster

Our depth is developing similarly which should mean a hell of a WC.

Wales
1. Jenkins/James/Rob Evans
2. Owens/Hibbard/Rees/Baldwin
3. A.Jones/R.Jones/Lee
4. AWJ/Evans
5. Ball/Davies/Charteris
6. Lydiate/Shingler/Turnbull
7. Warburton/Tipuric
8. Faletau/Baker (keep your eyes on this lad)
9. Phillips/Gareth Davies/R.Williams
10. Biggar/Priestland/Hook/Patchell
11. North/L.Williams
12. Roberts/Allen/Jack Dixon (another one to watch)
13. JD2
14. Cuthbert
15. 1/2p/Jordan Williams/Sam Davies
Struggling a bit, especially at 13 where Allen has stood in as well as North. Think we need to look at wing, 13, 10 and 6 for depth.

Think that front row is getting on a bit and cuthbert could be bettered.
Wales have a good 15 but depth is the issue. North could be 13 as he needs the ball more.
15 is depth galore. Is Sam Davies good ?? I signed him but he looks too small in my opinion.
Ian Evans not signed by Toulon

Coenie is a good LH but a pretty average TH. JDP is easily their best option at the minute, Beast has been dropped after a poor showing last week hasn't he?

Re: Season 7 Homepage I
Front row should be ok at tighthead and Rob Evans just needs more game time with Scarlets and will come good. Sam Davies is small (bit like Matthew Morgan) think both will find their home at 15. The Dragons have a few tidy players coming through now like Tyler Morgan problem is they turn a bit into the Connacht of Welsh rugby with the other regions sniffing and poaching.

My brother in law plays for Jersey he has been offered
A contract with dragons along with a few other prem and French clubs.
He would be back up prop at dragons who have said to him Adam jones will sign so he will get serious game time
As jones is not an 80 minute player and will miss lots of
Games
