Wimbledon Day 11 - Men's Semi Finals
First topic message reminder :
Well folks here it is. We are down to the nitty gritty. Is it a time for new hero's? Or will the old guard starve off the new breed?
Djokovic in his 5th Wimbledon semi final. Federer in his 8th.
Dimitrov and Raonic in their first Slam semi finals respectively.
If we go by the H2H we should expect another Federer and Djokovic final. However, it's a Slam and anything can happen.
I actually have the day off, so take that work! Can't wait for some stonking tennis action!

Re: Wimbledon Day 11 - Men's Semi Finals
Federer needs to stop slicing to BH corner and hit a DTL FH (run around). The current pattern is too predictable.
LK... Raonic is not confident about his BH against Federer, but against Kyrgios, perhaps yes.

IC, same as Rodick, just serve, no pounding. Hope he gets more use if that power.

Thanks
It's looking mighty dusty there at the back of the court, good thing there aren't too many extended rallies otherwise we could have a few more nasty falls.
Federer looking pretty decent...

Fed with better baseline play today, thought Stan was hitting BH same speed as his FH the other day, made Fed look powerless.

He is just going to get picked off if he keeps running round his FH.
It's just not working.

Annd taken. Federer to serve for the set, I hope Raonic's head doesn't drop too much over this.

Roddick had a good forehand at his prime and a very good return, and can move very well on the baseline, incomparison Roanic is too tall to make any more around the court and his return is quite pathetic, comparing Raonic to Roddick is a big insult and this is coming from a Canadian.

Fed of late has mastered mid-match focus lapse, he started it and Djoko is competing with him, so I won't say Fed is running with it.

P1$$-poor game to get broken by Raonic. Good enough for the old Man go up two sets.

You know, Roger might just have this title on Sunday. I never expected much from Raonic (he's terrible compared to the big 4) so it'll be interesting to see how he handles Djokovic this weekend. All the pressure on Novak?

Unless Raonic starts sh*tting winners, I would be stunned if Federer fluffs a bit.

Going to be very interesting, TSJ. Most of the pressure on Novak, for sure. Irrespective of result, it's difficult not to applaud a guy who's 33 next month making another slam final.
Of course, I'm sure LF would (rightly) say we shouldn't count chickens just yet!

If Novak moves to 6 losses in 7 finals, I don't think he'll come back from it.
But this may be Fed's last chance. I don't think a draw will pan out this nicely for him again. Plus I believe that getting to 18 will ensure he keeps the record.

Whoever came up with a Game Plan for Raonic (probably Ljubicic) should have studied better. Especially Ljubicic has a lot of experience playing Federer.

Re: Wimbledon Day 11 - Men's Semi Finals
Djokovic went life and death with baby Federer, I suspect he has no real chance against the real deal. Which sucks, because I think a four slam gap is too far.
But what would another slam final defeat do to Djokovic? With a baby on the way, I think it would effectively be the end of him, and with it probably being feds last real chance, and Nadal being on a d
day to day, there are slams to be won, if you're brave enough.

Does this means Fed is better then Nadal, since he is beating the guy who beat the guy who beat Nadal?

Aye, Raonic hasn't played the big games well, seemed to really tighten up at 4-4 in both the latter sets.
GSM to the Fed, unbelievable that he's made the final again. Only his second slam final against Novak as well, amazingly enough.

After a gap of 7 years If I am right, 2007 and now 2014, can 7 be lucky for Fed?

Indeed IC, 7 years since that very close USO final. We'll see what happens! I'm hoping for a good match, as it usually is between them
Commiserations on the loss too, I hope Bouchard can do the job tomorrow!

The sad thing is I think he'll win a major or two in between the Big Four retiring and players younger than him breaking through.

well, federer djokovic for the first time in a slam final since 2007. nice
a federer win would enlarge his myth, and a nole win could set the foundations of a real domination from here to ausi open 2016
