Career best T20 score for Dernbach. Ninth wicket partnership of 38 off 19 balls with Peterson brings Surrey score to something nearer respectibility. Gloucs need 158 to win.

Yes, I liked that too. Good work, JimBob!
Just about a reasonable total in the end, I would guess. However, far from a convincing performance by our front line batsmen.
The Gloucs keeper is Adam Rouse who played as a triallist for our seconds earlier this season. I believe he's got a month's gig to start with at Gloucs. Would expect that to get extended as he's already got a few runs and victims.

I take it all back. With 7 overs of the Glos innings to go, the Cunning Plan of playing Jade as a specialist No 10 batsman who's also handy & agile in the field seems to be working a charm!

Funny sort of match with both sides batting in fits and starts.

Both he and Ansari bowled three economical overs before conceding a hatful in their last over. We did pretty well I think in the end to get a win out of that match.

Yep, just going from the scorecard certainly seems like that.
Anyone know what happened to Dernbach? Probably rules him out of the Guildford 4 dayer along with Curran. That should get Meaker a game.

Re: Surrey vs Gloucestershire T20 Blast
Thankful that Dernbach did get injured otherwise he'd have probably bowled the last over and we'd have lost!
Will Meaker get a game at Guildford or will he be overlooked again with Edwards perhaps playing instead (or even Linley - or is he injured)?

Other things being equal I would imagine the bowling attack at Guildford will be Dunn, Meaker, Tremlett + Batty and Ansari (+ Dilshan)
Meaker, Edwards and Viscount all played in the 2nd XI earlier this week. (Meaker was pulled from the match part way through). I'm thinking that, if they want or need to include an additional quick in the squad beyond the three I suggested, it mighht be more likely to be Edwards than Viscount

Re: Surrey vs Gloucestershire T20 Blast
Subject to any injuries we don't know about, I think the Corporal is on the money with the bowling atack at Guildford. Edwards might get a place in the squad but feel that would be an attempt at a morale booster rather than signifying he'll play. Hard to see where his career is going at the moment.

Have to agree with Corp's assessment. So often you see apparently so-so T20 bowling figures with 2-3 tight overs followed by a carting. Yet again we had key contributions from the youngsters, and proved for the 2nd game in a row we can also win if Le Roy goes in the first over. In many ways it's better at this stage of the season to close out this kind of nervy seesaw win - from which all the players can learn and seek to improve - than to have a wider margin of victory.

Re: Surrey vs Gloucestershire T20 Blast
Importance of 9th wicket partnership of 38* underlined by narrow margin of victory. That partnership was higher than any previous Surrey partnership in T20 for 8th, 9th or 10th wicket.

Re: Surrey vs Gloucestershire T20 Blast
Indeed Corp. As you were kind enough to notice first time I said it, I repeat we have apparently discovered a hidden gem of a specialist T20 No 10.
