SURREY VS GLOUCESTERSHIRE NATWEST T20 BLAST Empty SURREY VS GLOUCESTERSHIRE NATWEST T20 BLAST

Post by jimbobgooner Wed 06 Jul 2016, 3:40 pm

SURREY HAVE NAMED A FOURTEEN MAN SQUAD FOR THE NATWEST T20 BLAST GAME AGAINST THE GLOUCESTERSHIRE AT BRISTOL ON WEDNESDAY.
South African all-rounder Chris Morris is named in a Surrey T20 squad for the first time having arrived this week and Aaron Finch will also make his Surrey T20 debut. Jason Roy is available for selection having returned to the squad after the recent England ODI and T20 Series against Sri Lanka. Jade Dernbach is named in a T20 squad for the first time this summer having recovered from his back injury. Wink Gary Wilson has been left out of the squad but Dominic Sibley returns after recovering from his back strain.
The treatment table is redundant  Wink
The whole match is being broadcast on Sky Sports 2 with coverage starting at 6pm. Very Happy
The Surrey squad to play Gloucestershire at The Brightside Ground on Wednesday 6th July:
Gareth Batty (capt)
Zafar Ansari
James Burke
Rory Burns
Sam Curran
Tom Curran
Steven Davies
Jade Dernbach
Aaron Finch
Ben Foakes
Stuart Meaker
Chris Morris
Jason Roy
Dominic Sibley
James Burke and Stuart Meaker will miss out, the last spot is between Burns or Davies
Davies would probably edge it for me
Over to you chaps  thumbsup

Cheers, JimBob.

Burke and Meaker almost certain to miss out as you say. Then, covering all options, one of Davies, Burns, Sibley and even Sam Curran to also be on the bench. I'll say Davies but really unsure.

Or did he just know which side he was playing in? Shocked

We'd probably have been bowled out for much less without him acting as some glue.

No scoring 32 runs off 35 balls in a t20 game is awful. If he went into make it 65 (49) that's fine, but you can't take up those many balls and then not make a big score.

Glad I missed that one....

One slightly odd stat is that in 3 T20 matches Sibley has scored more runs (173) than Batty has in his entire career of 78 T20 matches (35 innings) (150) runs.

Nice one, JimBob.

I didn't see any of this game but appears to have been a shocking performance. Certainly a dreadful result. We look a much better team than Gloucs on paper ... but only on paper.

I still fail to see why in every game, our opening bowler bowls just 1 over (normally takes a wicket) and is then taken off, thereby giving their batsmen a chance to settle in. Batty must go!

Fail to see how this is blaming him warning

I agree with Dave - no idea why Sam Curran was whipped off after getting a wicket in his first over, as he usually does. But strange decisions are apparently the norm at Surrey this season
