Fury vs Chisora off!
You have to feel sorry for Tyson despite your personal feelings for him. Chisora apparently has a fractured hand. Would you try and get a late late replacement if you was Warren?

Do we know how tickets sales went in the end and if those that did buy tickets will be refunded if no fight takes place.
I feel a bit for Warren to be fair as he's only going to keep struggling to sell tickets if they're too pricy and if his main fights don't happen.

Man this sport tests your patience som etimes. It's the only sport where you wait months of build up for it to called off with a week to go. Knowing it will months before anything happens again. Seriously peed off. I'm not going to get excited or watch any build up again

Event still goes ahead. No refund proposed for now.

3 in a row for Fury. He must feel like Joe Jerkoff. Probably announces his retirement.
Haye might come sniffing around again though.

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
What was Chisora doing during fight week to break his hand?! Sparring? If so he should be made to pay all Team Fury expenses. Any x-rays to confirm this - I hear ticket sales were diabolical? The only decent fight Frank had in his locker and it's down the toilet, he can wave emails in iFL's face all he wants but things are looking grim for him. Fury should have a sit down with Hearn if he wants to get his career going again, he's been going nowhere for 2 years now.

Apparently they'd only sold 4000 tickets. Warren stood to lose a small fortune. Hmmmmm.....

That's what I heard, yet the event is going ahead anyway, no refunds, so how does the main event being cancelled help him? (genuine question).

At this rate it won't be long before Warren is sending Eddie his CV begging for a job.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving fighter, was a pointless fight in the first place and was giving Fury little coverage which was than he's worth. Hopefully he's had enough and packs it in.

Don't see how Warren can justify not offering refunds when virtually all those that have bought tickets have done so to see Fury Chisora. I think ethically he has to give people that option.

He'd have been forking out on Fury and Chisora's purses. What, £200-300k?

Could not agree more. If you bought tickets to see the Rolling Stones, but they cancelled the promoter would not say you can't have a refund because the support band are still playing!! Is ridiculous to suggest refunds are not available.
Have to feel for Fury, whatever you think of the guy he has prepared in good faith and will have incurred expenses doing so. On the back of the Haye farces the bloke deserves some better luck.

Of course they won't. Those having a chip at Fury: imagine working your day job for a year and not getting paid. No wonder he's just offered to fight anyone who fancies a ruck in Bolton town centre.

The warren managed fighter breaks his hand fight week in a poorly selling event with no real tv money to speak of, that's unfortunate for everyone (except frank).

I missed the part where i'm meant to care what happens to Fury, he's embarrassed himself and more importantly British boxing enough already.

I wasn't sure if they'd have any guaranteed money as it's so close to the bout itself HH.
Or if he finds a stand in opponent for Fury will he still get the same amount?
I'm sure Frank will realise that if he offers no decent alternative and no refunds he's likely to lose more business manchester way as who is seriously going to pay decent money for something where they may not get what was advertised. Everyone will wait until the day from now on.

Aren't you a Floyd fan? Hasn't he embarrassed himself and the sport far more than Fury?

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
Lets see if Chisora gets as much flak as a certain David Haye shall we;...
I'm not a fan of Fury and his mouth; though he can seem like a decent guy when you actually speak to him...however some would say this is karma given the way he conducted himself last week. I do wonder whether Frank knows something we don't regard the board meeting with the BBBofC...
As for Warren himself; well I would say that the safe option would be for him to offer refunds in full for this. Can't see how he can justify the ticket prices for what has essentially become a small hall show now the main event is gone. Given his apparent legal wranglings and his dwindling stable of fighters he can ill afford these type's of things happening and as such needs to ensure what's left of the fans of his fighters hold him in good faith else he will be in serious difficulties further down the line. *these are the views of my own and have nothing to do with the 606v2 site itself*

Haye has done this 4 times. I can't remember one fighter pulling out of this many fights... He's defrauded fans for too long, I'll let this Chisora one slide given it's probably the first time he's pulled out of a fight.
For all of Tyson's sins, I can only imagine how frustrating this is for him.

Warren will be slaughtered for this if he charges full whack. The tickets were sh1ttily priced to begin with. Probably not the sort of crowd you want to be ripping off either.

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
Hearn must be loving it. Id say there is a decent chance of Fury or Chisora jumping ship. From the sounds of it the whole show was looking to bomb. Maybe that's why Fury was in that kind of mood at the press conference. Trying to a last ditch sales pitch. The 100k bet thing could have just for show to get some headlines (which worked in fairness).

At least half of that is still on sale on Eventim.
The Boxnation commentary team might be the only ones there!

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
A late replacement to face Fury is a must if Warren is gonna refuse refunds, and not some sheet metal worker from Romania, if Briggs or Thompson are publicly stating they can step in then get them in. When was the last time Fury even stepped into a ring?
You've got to think the numbers weren't adding up for Warren on this. I hear tickets were starting around £60ish? Let's say an average of £80, 4000 sold is £320k which probably barely covers Fury & Chisoras purses. Would the revenue from advertising in the arena and on a fringe channel like BoxNation cover the cost of the undercard, the venue and other expenses such as security etc.? Unlikely.

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
Without going into my well worn rant about boxnation this does raise questions as to its effectiveness as a platform for domestic fights. With Sky there are any number of means available to promote a fight such as appearances on Soccer Am, hype and interviews on Sky Sports News, advertising during high profile and well viewed other sports, appearances on other sky shows etc. All these help the fighters and events reach audiences outside of just the hardcore boxing fans.
If the rumours of 4000 tickets shifted are true it is pretty poor, but perhaps that is the price of the fight being hid away on a channel nobody outside of the hardcore will have access to.
