Fury vs Chisora off!
First topic message reminder :
You have to feel sorry for Tyson despite your personal feelings for him. Chisora apparently has a fractured hand. Would you try and get a late late replacement if you was Warren?

Id like to see Klitschko try his wreslting holds on Fury and get an elbow or forearm to the face for his trouble.

Fury will never be short of volunteers to punch him in the face. Wouldn't surprise if when he goes to this disciplinary hearing, Robert Smith chins him for being a c**tcatchweight wrote:Well nobody else will these days

Wlad will hit harder than anyone fury has fought, as well as being infinitely technically superior. Fury won't have his usual size advantages, he only has a two inch height advantage, and two inches isn't a lot - just ask Trusses wife.

Fair play to Fury, frankly Ustinov is probably as big/good challenge as Chisora, albeit a totally different style. Still expect him to win but it'll be interesting to see him in with a similarly sized lump.

When does he ever win early? He fought a human punch bag last time and still went six.

Klitschko might not throw a right hand until the 10th or 11th round against Fury.

Doesn't matter, when it lands, Fury goes. Only problem is that if it goes 11, people will think Fury is defensively better than he actually is.

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
Have I entered a parallel universe here? Fury has the square root of sod all chance against Wlad. Is weak defensively, does not have particularly good power for his size and has a very questionable chin. All he brings to the table is the fact he is a big unit and is game. In what world is that going to be enough. Wlad will turn up in shape, will stick to his tried and tested gameplan and will not be out jabbed by Fury in a month of Sundays. Wlad probably won't get him out of there early, as his inate caution and Fury's gameness might allow him to stick around a bit but Fury has sod all chance.

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
Fury offers nothing that can trouble Wlad. He'll get jabbed to death at a distance and doesn't have anywhere near the movement to get close to him without catching a right hand. The right hand would put him on Queer Street. There's not a single thing Fury does better than Wlad and as soon as Fury would attempt to up the pace, he'd be signing his own death warrant. Mismatch.

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
Fury probably wouldn't win, but Klitschko is overrated to the extreme. He seldom impresses even against tailor made punch bags who come with no ambition. Against even out of shape limited guys like Povetkin or Peter the first time who come with not much more a bit of desire to have a go then Klitschko looks average at best. He resorted to fouling Povetkin completely for the entire fight, couldn't put him away and was blowing out his arse by the end of the fight. Fury just turning up and giving it a go could make things very awkward for Klitschko. He isn't used to it.

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
Er Lepai, turned up and gave it a go" and Fury's no better, size advantage be damned. he's hopeless, Wlad is always less than exciting but doesn't have to be that vast majority of the time. There's nothing in Fury's arsenal that should worry Wlad except the possibility that Fury would win the HW title by virtue of being the person who lands the knockout blow on his own chin.catchweight wrote:Fury probably wouldn't win, but Klitschko is overrated to the extreme. There is a bloke goes in my local known as big Andy. Get half a dozen pints in him and he will turn up and have a go. Suspect it will take a little more than willingness to get the job done.

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
It might not get the job done but it make for a far tougher fight for Klitschko than everyone is assuming. If Fury can attack him the way Povetkin did then Klitschko wll find him far harder to wrestle around. He is not a little tubby guy with no reach. A bit of ambition and aggression could take Fury further than people think.

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
I missed my other quotation marks and was writing that Lepai also came and "gave it a go" (the sarcasm obviously missed by a hemisphere). Lepai was another all mouth no trousers, done nothing to warrant a shot or demonstrate anything to suggest he'd win opponent and he was nullified with ease. What does Fury have that makes him any better?
Wish people would stop all this guff about his size advantage because his actions of late clearly demonstrate he's a sad and frightened little boy and Wlad is hardly likely to be ruffled by his pathetic attempts at mind games and intimidation.

Suppose it's what you like really...constant circling whilst looking for an opening or walking face first into punches.

Neither did I but it would be preferable to watching a lumbering oaf walking face first into punches then turning around and letting Wlad punch him...then again, maybe it wouldn't!

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
I'll wager anyone that Fury does well against Klitschko.
Fury's size, work rate, speed and fire will scare the sh it out of Wladimir, a guy that claps his cleats everytime someone throws a punch at him.
While Fury is probably too sloppy to actually win, he'll put in a far better shift than these cranks Klitschko's been bowling over for years (Haye included).

I bet all that goes out the window after Wlad has landed one jab, he wouldn't stand a chance, far too useless.

Haz, i may accept your bet if you clarify what does well means? Does it mean... Lasts 12 rounds? Is knocked out late? Wins just less than half the rounds (i.e. 4 to 5)? Loses every round but is game (or doesn't appear scared)? Or does it mean something else?

The performance he puts in is generally accepted as the best anyone's managed against Wlad since Brewster/Sanders knocked him man sausage-eyed.

Haz, I just don't understand how you can say that the best heavyweight in the division over the past 5 years is tested by someone who has struggled with almost every fighter he's faced. Name one opponent Fury has well and truly outclassed.

If Fury wins this weekend he will already have a heavyweight record similar enough to Haye.

That has little bearing.
Fury is big, confident, quick (for his size), active and fearless.
Klitschko crap ped himself whenever Povetkin threw a punch. He wouldn't be able to manhandle Fury that way.
Fury's garbage compared to previous champions but he's good enough to give Klitschko a fight.

Re: Fury vs Chisora off!
My own view is this whole idea that fighters turn up already beaten or devoid of belief when facing Wlad is not quite accurate. Am sure it is the case for many but also believe there are a good few who turn up with plenty of ambition, but fast find it evaporating when faced with the reality of how tricky actually carrying out your gameplan is once in there with Wlad.
Not that Wlad is any great shakes, but as the old saying goes in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king. I actually agree Fury will turn up and have a go, but simply cannot see how he does anything other than lose. For me Fury has bought too much into his warrior you put me down, I don't care, I'll get back up image. World of difference letting Cunningham take pot shots and letting Wlad bounce right hands off your chin.
