Can someone help me out here? Whats the craic with the Sevens in Glasgow? I have some questions...
When is it happening?
Who is playing?
Can I watch it on TV?
That kind of thing, you know?

Wasn't there some problem with Toulon not releasing Habana on time?

Wouldn't be surprised if someone picks up an 'injury' between now and Saturday then!

Re: Rugby Sevens at the Commonwealth Games
Oh I didn't realise it was the reserve squad- I just read he got the call up!
Wouldn't be surprised if someone got injured either. With wishing a severe injury on someone, it would be great to see what Habana can do on the 7s circuit!

Re: Rugby Sevens at the Commonwealth Games
The make up of the competition is quite different to the usual sevens circuit.
Thing with Habana is that its a big thing to go from fifteen aside to sevens in such a short period of time. unless hes been working on his RSF.

No offence to NZ but it would be lovely if someone else (preferably England but not necessarily) won gold

Lets just hope the rugby is better than the cringeworthy, barf inducing and twee carp we were served up last night under the guise of an opening ceremony.

The Scottish squad has a lot of fifteens stars. They've gone for the big names approach.

Yes the squad is very different to what Scotland have used on the IRB 7s circuit. Although the 15s guys that have come in have all played a couple of 7s tournaments and most of them played once or twice on the main 7s circuit last year.
Should be a good second day, but the groups are pretty non competitive, with 7 of the 8 quarter finalists already nailed on. 8th place will be down to the who wins the Scotland v Canada game.

Re: Rugby Sevens at the Commonwealth Games
Really looking forward to the 7s. I've got tickets for all day tomorrow and the finals on Sunday night.
Like the rest of the Commonwealth games - it will be fully braodcast on BBC!
The chat seems to be that ticket sales have been very good for all sessions. I can't believe they sold 45000 tickets for all 4 sessions, but even if they have sold half of that it will be a great occasion.

Re: Rugby Sevens at the Commonwealth Games
That's the spirit!
I went to the Twickenham 7s on a stag do earlier this year and from what I can remember, it was a cracking day. One-sided games can be a bit of a drag but there's usually plenty going on around you to keep things interesting.
I have to fit a car seat and build a cot this weekend. Rock and roll.

Are you going to be wearing a hilarious costume so we can spot you on TV RD?

Nice to see the welsh team all sporting #StayStrongForOws wristbands.
Shame some plonker at the BBC decided to cut to swimming during that game.

Nope, just as Wales were running out they switched.
Fair to say they're not happy in the Principality (as Hazel Irvine might say)

I know, watched it on the iPad, but not as satisfying as watching it on TV.

There's nothing more one-sided than a one-sided sevens game.

New Zealands 7s specialists quite easily outclassing Scotlands mainly full time 15s.
Too easy for them.

Is that what they are? I was wondering if it was the Welsh Athletics logo. Controversial indeed.

All the nations have different badges on their shirts, NZ had some circular logo with a small fern in it.

Yeah, apparently it was the team logo,
Seemed strange that it was only some players and it was stuck over the wru logo, my mistake
