Cotto v Alvarez being looked at for May 2015
Both fighters management have come out and said they are looking at this figght for May 2015. Its onbviously a very financially lucrative fight. In the meantime Alvarez is set to return in Novemeber and Cotto in December of this year. Cottos management have suggested his next fight wont be ppv. With such a big fight between the pair on the horizon it seems like their next fight could be somewhat low key. Perhaps an opportunity for someone like Macklin?
It looks like more bad news for Golovkin who is unlikely to get a shot at either until at least late 2015. Freddie Roach has also claimed that a fight with Golovkin could only happen closer to 154 than the 160 limit. It seems Golovkin will refocus his attention on trying to secure a fight with Chavez or failing that Soliman.

Re: Cotto v Alvarez being looked at for May 2015
Too big not to happen wasn't it and a much more winnable fight for Cotto although I still think that Canelo does him, just too big and too strong for Cotto but he'd last a lot longer than he would against GGG which would probably be about 3/4 rounds
Just got to make sure neither fighter loses untill then. Cotto will probably go for an easier fight whereas I think Canelo will have a more dangerous opponent as he has a PPV date. All roads lead to one of Molina or kirkland, most likely kirkland who will provide more of a spectacle
Kirkland could be KOed in the first round but if he gets rolling he could prove big problems for Canelo as he has a lot of power and won't stop coming and would be willing to take shots to get his off. Canelo has yet to fight a puncher like him
As bad as i feel for GGG that fight was never gonna happen the martinez fight was a gimme as he was damaged goods and GGG could destroy Cotto whenever he wants

Would you rather a spoilfest against Molina?

I'd rather it be neither if it's all the same. We're talking about the demise of PPV and then mentioning Kirkland...there's no hope for any of usWHU_Champo_League_in_7Yrs wrote:DAVE667 wrote:When Kirkland is the answer you know there's a problem
