Post by westisbest Sun 31 Aug 2014, 10:11 am

First topic message reminder :

So this week sees the start of the euro qualifiers.

We start with an away game to Georgia.

Will be very tough for us to qualify.

If we can get 6 points, which will be the target from our first 2 games( Gibraltar h after Georgia). will be good.

Then we have world champions Germany a, can write them off as 2 defeats.

Scotland will be interesting to play, they have picked up a bit.

Poland will be tricky.

Hate to say it, but cant see us making it, but one thing is for sure we will give it a hell of a go.
Also with the great Irish support behind the boys, we may surprise a few.

So C'MON YOU BOYS IN GREEN. Leprechaun

Unbelievable match, the Germans had all the chances but we just needed one, cracking finish by Long, Walters is becoming a favorite of mine he works his balls off but the whole team were heroes lastnight

Great team performance we have really have improved as the group has gone on, Walters is brilliant he never lets the side down the guy runs himself into the ground, the crowd in the aviva was something else too, would be magical if we could qualify automatically on Sunday after we thought a play off was our best hope

Play offs it is.

Still confident we can make it.

Not over yet.

Disappointing all the same.

Be interesting to see who we get.

Terrible game all round really

O'Shea was muck all match lucky not to give a peno or two away climbing all over that Poopie hawk Lewandowski (Who should have been booked a few times the diving pr1ck) but to the play offs we go, when is the draw?

Draw is sunday i believe.

Dont think we are any worse, certainly not much worse than the teams that will be in the play offs.

Our never say die attitude will certainly be a factor.

Will be tough as i said, but have to be at least fairly confident.

Out of the 4 possible teams, Hungary would have to be the best we would want and probably Bosnia, Sweden and Ukraine are defiantly the toughest and we will more than likely get one of those Very Happy

Bad stuff.

Caught in two moods.

Yeah, it would be nice to get through ....but.... do the team ever play anything close to being good enough to compete in France? It's not good enough to just turn up for a party. You have to have a certain ambition to do something. Right now, it's so much defending game by game that it's painful to watch.

If we made it to France I'd hope we have more to offer than pain and constant nail biting.

I hope we make it.

If we can Keep players fit, We may well give teams a go.

We have a never say die attitude, which we have shown this campaign.

We don't have a great squad, but with the right attitude, we can be tough to break down.

Looking forward to mondays game.
Hopefully we can do it.

Yes Steffan us England fans think we'll win Euro 2016, then we kick off and then reality hits us and we realise like most major tournaments we play in that we just ain't that good, but the beer still goes down well.

Never a penalty in a million years. Do love the fact that both the Irish commentators thought it was a stonewaller. No bias there then? I wonder what they'd have said if it had been the other way?
