First topic message reminder :

So this week sees the start of the euro qualifiers.

We start with an away game to Georgia.

Will be very tough for us to qualify.

If we can get 6 points, which will be the target from our first 2 games( Gibraltar h after Georgia). will be good.

Then we have world champions Germany a, can write them off as 2 defeats.

Scotland will be interesting to play, they have picked up a bit.

Poland will be tricky.

Hate to say it, but cant see us making it, but one thing is for sure we will give it a hell of a go.
Also with the great Irish support behind the boys, we may surprise a few.

So C'MON YOU BOYS IN GREEN. Leprechaun

Yet again never say die attitude.

Just a shame their goal came from,a stupid mistake.

Second half display was very good.

We need to start like that against Scotland.
Still in with a shout.

Second half was much better Westi - you got the ball down and played to the strengths of guys like Keane, Hoolahan, Coleman, McCarthy and they all helped to dominate the game. That needs to be the tactic from the off next time!

very good second half by us, just a pity we didnt do that from the begining, we could have won the game but it now means we need to beat scotland next to have a realistic chance of getting 2nd

MON needs to be more forward in getting young Jack to play for ROI.

Think its poor of him to be saying the Scotland game is to big a game for him. Thats rubbish.
Saying things like that would no doubt put him off.

I think he may opt for England. He is a local lad. Think he would play more for ROI.

Has been quality for Villa since Sherwood came in.
Ok Grealish has said he wont make a comitment till september.
Those comments wont help the case.

Anyway whoever he chooses good luck to him.

Glad to see him playing his little sock off for Villa.

I'm sure after giving England a beating in a friendly we will deal with our Celtic cousins Scotland again hopefully at home. It's Gibralter away that worries me lol.

Big game today. A must win.

Not sure if Keane will want to play after the loss of his cousin in the week.

Be a tough tight game.

Went to the bookies yesterday to have a couple of bets.

2-1 & 3-1 ROI.

Fk it, cmon lads.

I can't understand whose pint Shane Long has pished in. Best striker we have available and he's barely getting a look in.
Well done Scotland on the win. Better team on the day.

Yep needed to start with Long & Keane.

Surprised at that.

Poor overall.

Very difficult now, to qualify.

Have to hope Scotland slip up.

Nothing less than 6 points from our next 2 games.

Gibraltar a
Georgia h.

Only way now, if we win the next 2, will be on 15 points.
If we can get something against Germany or Poland would be a bonus.

Have to hope Scotland lose next, away to Georgia.
Then at home to Germany. Then to Poland. If so then they would still be on 11.
A win against Gibralter would leave them on 14.

We would have 15 points and take the third place play off spot.
Even then a big if to actually get to France.

The big game is Georgia v Scotland.

Having said that, don't think Scotland will lose their next 3 games.

I'm clutching at straws here, but while there is still a chance, you must never give up the fight. guinness

Frustrating first half to say the least.

Need to bang a few in second half.

Fair play to Gibralter though so far.

Decent goal from Christie.

Got the job done. 3 points.

Shame Clarke didn't get on the score sheet, had his chances.

Anyway up to third, hopefully we can get another 3 points monday night.

Hopefully Keano gets on the scoresheet again monday.

Hopefully we can go 4 points clear of Scotland tonight.

If so, than last 2 games are going to be difficult.

Germany h
Poland a

If we can get something from even 1 of those games would be happy.

Poland have Gibraltar today, so they will go to 17 points.
Then they travel to Scotland, fancy that to be a draw, before we travel to play them.

If results go our way tonight, hopefully can get something in last 2 games and hope Scotland fail to beat Poland, as they should beat Gibraltar.

Would cement our play off spot.

Having said that, tonight will be a tough game. Have to get the 3 points.

Got the win in the end.

Deserved it, but nervy stuff.

With Scotland losing, we go 4 points clear of them. BUT. Our last 2 games are very tough.

Hate to say it, but cant see us getting anything out of those games.

Scotland will beat Gibraltar, so hoping Poland beat them.

Germany home tonight.

A point would be great.  a win would be quality.

We have to be at our best and stay in the game with them.

If Poland beat Scotland, then we are guaranteed third spot.
But we will be going out to get second spot.

Very tough game on sunday to.

But today is all about Germany.

Would like to see Long come on second half, hopefully cause the german defence some trouble with his pace.

Bit worried about Randolph between the sticks for second half.
Hopefully he will do well.

Hung in there, did what we had to.

Now can go to Poland with a lot of confidence of beating them and taking second place.

Great result.

Can't see ROI getting past Poland with Robert Lewandowski in sensational form. He scored another brace in the Polish away fixture in Scotland, scoring in the third and ninetieth minute.

Would start with Long.

Gonna be a tough game.

Fancy with the spirit we have to get a draw.

Be great to get the win.

Don't think many would have us with 1 game to go still able to get automatic qualification.
