The 606v2 Fleaflicker Fantasy American Football League
Hey everyone,
I've decided to create a fantasy NFL league for this forum. I've created the league on the site fleaflicker.com. Some of you may wonder why I haven't created the league on nfl.com or espn, but I have used all three of these sites and although fleaflicker isn't the best looking, it definitely has the best features and is a fantastic site to start a fantasy league on.
The draft for this league will not be for a long time so there's no rush, I currently have it set to September 3rd but that may change. I think early September is good because it gives a lot of time for the lockout to be resolved.
If you're interested, go on http://www.fleaflicker.com/nfl/ and search for the league "606v2" in the "join a league" section, it should come up (you'll have to create a free account on there first, please use the same name as on here if possible). The password for the league is "lockout". If you haven't got a clue how to play fantasy American football then feel free to post on this thread or on the message board that is on the league site itself.
If you've never played before and you're unsure then I would urge you to try it, it is seriously good fun, especially the draft, and it adds meaning to games that do not involve your favourite team.
Thanks

By that do you mean you won't join because you can't access it at work or just not now?

I can get NFL.com and NFK UK in the office so can (and do !) spend countless hours on fantasy, I get less time at home and could easily miss a number of weeks so the chances are I won't join

Right ok, thanks for the info. I may try and create an NFL.com one because as you said, others might have the same problem as you

I'll keep it as it is and see how it goes, it's not even possible to create a league on nfl.com yet

I like FleaFlicker. I won one of my leagues last year.
Re: The 606v2 Fleaflicker Fantasy American Football League
Joined the league, was going to set one up myself closer to the season, but I'll only do that if there is a demand for a second fleaflicker league.

Cheers guys, this doesn't have to be the only league, for example people like Pr4wn and grizzly would prefer an nfl.com league which is fine

Just made you co-commish by the way, that way we both can run this fleaflicker league

Ok cheers for that. The fact that people are unable to veto trades, does this mean only commish can cancel it?

joined aswell. If none of us have more than one team we shouldnt need the veto. Only really for people who try sneak 2 teams in and do unfair trades. If we know everyone on it, then its the persons fault if they make a bad one.

This was suggested a while back but there didn't seem to be much point acting on it while the lockout was preventing all hope of football.
I'm in the same boat as Pr4wn and Grizzly in that I can't access the site at work so I'll holdout for an NFL.com league too if that's ok.

I'm gonna stick with the NFL.com idea. I always do leagues on NFL.com and I'm a sucker for flashy presentation!

No more takers? We need 5 or 7 more, if not I suppose I'll delete the league and just let the NFL.com league be the only one.

If we need more members for the league we can always advertise elsewhere, we can advertise on the 606 leagues from last year.

Re: The 606v2 Fleaflicker Fantasy American Football League
I like playing fantasy football, its always a good laugh I play around 10-11 per season have played on Fleaflicker, Yahoo, NFL & Espn. I have a crazy idea for next season that will require some hardcore NFL fans, I would be looking for around 9-10 coaches in a set up that would involve x3 RB in each team, x2 kickers and 2 starting defences.

When you say starting defence, do you mean teams ie Giants and Eagles?
Post some more details on how it would run
cheers

He means the whole defense and special teams of a particular team. So if you pick the giants and they get an interception you get points, and if they return a kickoff for a touchdown you also get points.

I've done a few IDP leagues and their good fun. In the leagues i've done we've had a LB, DL, DB and then two players of your choosing.
It makes things more interesting than just having teams but adds to draft time and if people don’t manage their teams it's a pain

Re: The 606v2 Fleaflicker Fantasy American Football League
As Browntown said, most fantasy teams usually only play 1 defence, I am looking at playing 2 defences per week by tweaking the scoring system it can allow for more points to be earned, normal fantsay teams are set up so the QB gets the most points as it is a passing game in the NFL now, but I think it could be more fun if the Defence could score a lot of points, its makes it less predicatble, players like Manning, Rodgers, Brady etc always socre highly. But last year defences such as Detroit, Cleveland, and the Raiders scored well in some weeks, its less predicatble that way and keep more exciting.

Re: The 606v2 Fleaflicker Fantasy American Football League
I had a fantasy team on the nfl.com website last year which I thought was pretty good from the draft to the game data. I will definitely be looking at getting more involved this year.
On another note, I ran an NFL Competition (scores prediction league) on the BBC 606 website last year in the guise of NFL MIKE and at present will hope to run a similar competition on here too.

Sportsville - when I saw your BBC name as 'NFL Mike' I thought you may have been the deluded Bungals fan who got very protective of anything Bungals related and especially hated the Bungals being called The Bungals, but then I read your post in full and found no text talk, incomprehensible abbreviations, no grammar errors and most of all it made sense, so I realised you couldn't be one and the same.
Good luck !

If we fill up with 10 teams, I'll change the league to 12 teams and see if we can get 2 more because 12 team leagues are the best. But if not then 10 is fine, welcome on board thunder and lightning.

Good man, just changed the league to a 12 team league with 3 divisions so we now have 2 vacancies.

Re: The 606v2 Fleaflicker Fantasy American Football League
In the draft it ranks the remaining available players so the ones at the top are the best. Just do a mock draft and you'll see how simple it is. I was a rookie last year and actually won one of my leagues.
