Surely the title of this thread should be "Eddie Hearn stops short of calling STRONGBACK a sad obsessed stalkerish little w*nker!"

This interview is being debated on several boxing forums, why not here?
Eddie is putting on a poor PPV and knowlegable boxing fans are calling it for what it is. The know nothing fans that Eddie has brought to the table are still defending him. Time will tell how influential the opinions of more knowledgeable boxing fans has in putting off people buying the PPV for this show.
What I find amusing is Eddie is starting to get hot under the collar. When a fan attending the November show said he was disappointed that a PPV lineup would not be better Eddie retorted 'I'll buy your ticket back off you I could sell 20,000 more'. Hearn would probably sell it on Stubhub for a 200% markup.

Well Eddie if there is pages and pages of this then maybe they have a point. If he was the boxing man he claims to be he'd take the feedback onboard rather than branding them "Lemons". Talk about treating your fans as customers.....

Stop trying to make yourself sound superior because you have a little more knowledge than some people. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions without having some pratt talk down to them like a child.
To most of us it's not worth it and we therefore won't be buying it. It smacks of Mr Hearn trying to get as much out of it as possible but 'hopefully' it will fail and we won't have to put up with it again. If it doesn't and it's a massive succes then maybe it's us 'snobs' that have missed the point. (Please don't let it be a success though)

This is a fair point Derby, Hearn will not care who buys it, only that people do buy it. Whether the person paying the £15 can give you chapter and verse on the career of Sam Langford will matter little to him. I dearly hope this does not sell, but it would not surprise me to see it do OK. Bellew talks a good fight and you suspect both will put themselves about to sell this. The odd press conference shoving match is likely, if enough people can be fooled into believing Haye Harrison was a legitimate match up or worthy of spending money on I would not make any assumptions as to folks gulibility.

Re: Eddie Talks About His Twitter Critics
Like I said last week...Eddie Hearn in "promoter looks to maximize profits" shocker
What's he doing that any other semi-smart promoter wouldn't?
Admittedly I haven't bought tickets for an Eddie Hearn promotion but I'm fairly confident that if I did, there wouldn't a representative from "Hearn Crime Inc" holding a gun to my head and I doubt anyone else who's purchased a ticket has had one held to their head either

Terrible PPV's are damaging to boxing. As boxing fans we should criticise these shows.

One thing I would highlight, is that unlike the Haye v Harrison match up, this one is a pretty good fight.Rowley wrote:This is a fair point Derby, Hearn will not care who buys it, only that people do buy it. As Michael Caine said, in the timeless classic 'Austin Powers: Goldmember':

Good point, maybe we should do with all Strongy's obsessive Hearn threads what we did with all D4's tedious Manny dross and consistently merge them into one thread, since the subject never really changed anyway.

Who says he gets everything with impunity???
And what's wrong with being a businessman as well???
Think you might possibly need some professional help over this Strongy as your obsession now seems way over the top. It's like your in a cult that decries him as the devil.
And before you start your everyone on here loves Eddie but me, you do realise a lot of people on here (including his 'favourites') have said this PPV is pants and won't be paying for it.

When Eddie tries to polish up a turd and sell it as gold people like you say "that's ok because Eddie's a businessman and as a businessman he's fully entitled to rip the fans off."
Let's face it you're a casual who thinks British boxing started with Eddie.

Re: Eddie Talks About His Twitter Critics
Let's face it, i've never claimed to have the superior knowledge of yourself and onetwo.
We can also face that your obsession is slightly creepy and borders on stalkerish.
Eddie's a businessman and entitled to do what he thinks is best for his business and his employee's (not just his boxers,) If it works then he's done the right thing by him. If it doesn't then he'll have to try something else.
-I think Matchroom has been good for British boxing the last few years, we've got to see some good matchups and he's brought Froch to the masses.
-This PPV could be a big mistake as it has the potential to turn fans away when it could have been used as a big Saturday Fight Night show to bring more fans in.
-Until the whole of boxing changes (including us fans) we're going to continue to see mismatches as the dreaded loss can derail a whole career.
I'm happy to debate the pro's and cons of any of this with you but you act like a conspiracy theorist if someone doesn't see things your way.
