Genia has so much potential for Oz and the Reds, if he leaves then club and country are losing a real talent. He'll go to Stade, play poorly in a pretty average club in a forward dominated average league and that'll be the last we'll see of him.

The IRB need to get a grip on France and how they're just stripping the southern hemisphere of any and all talented players.

Yappy, Genia was out of form and dropped from the Wallabies team last year. He's not at the level he was. A change of scenery might help rejuvenate him. The Wallabies have plenty of options and the Reds have a young understudy who could step up.

Symons is a big bloke. Be a good acquisition and I'm sure Lancaster will appreciate him returning home.

Campagnaro is a great signing for Exe. I guess that means that Slade will slowly slide back into the 10 role.

That is a good signing for Exe, will be good for the Italian team too, he will get far more game time there than if he had gone to one of the French big boys.

You were not happy with Brookes coming back yet (if we exclude the leaving again) he has done pretty well. Mickey Young is a decent player who should do a really good job for you.

Heard a horrible rumour/wind-up from a Bath supporting friend that they are speaking to Ben Youngs.

no idea if he is out of contract - he last signed a new one in the 2011/12 season at same time as Tom. tom of course signed a new contract earlier this season.

Youngs to Bath wouldn't make any sense.

They've just signed Matawalu and Cook is progressing very well and has just signed a new contract. Spending big money on Youngs would be crazy cap wise (assuming he's even out of contract?)

Especially as a lot of the younger english talent that featured was to secure the RFU payment. Tait did a good job at driving away young english players

It wasn't just the side (Tait had a knack of signing average players), it was the style of rugby, it was so painful to watch.

At least if we get beat we're giving it a go and playing some good stuff.

100% that Youngs won't sign for Bath, they've just brought in two guys and Cook is coming along nicely.

I really hope not. I doubt it very much. It is probably just the standard rumour of the last 4 years that any Tigers player is moving to Bath, off the top of my head it has been; Ayerza, Stankovich, Parling, Croft, Salvi, Waldrom, Youngs, Tait, Allen. But to be fair Moody, Hipkiss, Vesty and Ford all came through.

We have Homer coming in at FB to replace Henson and Arscott and maybe a big name backrower, but I can't see anything massive 9 after Matawalu and Evans (Dragons) have been signed.

Heard rumours that hougaard is being signed by us.

Now IF that is true he could be a winger.


although considering Bath have 3 Scrum halfs signed up for next season I can't see that being true.

Thought Hougaard was off to Montpellier to link up with Jake White?

Last I heard Tigers and Exeter where the names being touted.

That's Young, the rumour is for YoungS... I very much doubt it is true though, we have 3 SH's plus an academy lad for next season already.

In the French press this morning it has both Francois Hougaard and Rory Krockett both in talks with Montpellier who are looking to sign both players. Also rumoured to be quite a few other South Africans on their shopping list.

TBH I could see Montpellier having a 80% SA rugby team.

The Campegnaro rumour has come from the Italian press, nothing at all in the English press other than quoting their Italian counterparts. would be a very decent signing though.

Chiefs still need a winger if Fetu Vainkolo is off as is rumoured.

Exeter have signed Olly Woodburn from us on the wing. Not in Vainkolo's class, but an able squad player

Woodburn seems pretty good when i'v seen him play.


Foley is coming to the Aviva , He's got a few clubs in for him including Leicester apparently

I see Dowson is off to Wuss.

Been a good player for both Falcons and Saints over the years, my favorite ever Falcon when i think about it.

Massive kick in the nuts for Freddy Burns if Tigers signed Foley. Gone from 1st choice to arguably 3rd behind Williams and Foley.

I would be seriously disappointed if we signed Foley.

We don't need Foley unless Burns is going to fullback full time. Not something I'd put past us as Tigers do like a 15 with the skills to act as a secondary playmaker. See Healey, Vesty and of course the great Geordan Murphy.

Tigers are signing the hard hitting Mike Williams from Worcester. The gigantic Opeti Fonua from LW and Brendan O'Connor from the Auckland Blues who I know little about.

I would love it if Irish signed Foley.

Good signings for Leicester there, although I think Williams is better at 6 than lock.

O'Connor is a good open side. I think he is Irish Qualified so won't take up a non Kolpak spot. Ulster were meant to be keen last summer.

Difference is, for you guys that is a real area of weakness. I see no point in us using up cash on a 10 when we have areas of real weakness elsewhere.

No I get the difference completely and would feel the same if I was in your boat. I was just passing comment!

Williams and O'Connor are both English qualified apparently. Tigers do tend to be in the market for any hint of English qualification so as to meet the quotas etc.

Williams will be a handy utility option covering lock and 6. Good power option for games against the like of Sarries or the Irish.

Where did you see that?
Otherwise the toulon's fans are saying it's a done deal between Duane Vermeulen, Eben Etzebeth and Toulon.

Soon france will have more South african players than South africa!

O'Connor is a good 7 IMO but he has the trouble of being up against the likes of Mccaw, Todd and L.Braid at the Crusaders and Blues (His former and current clubs).

U20 WC winner for NZ though so will have something about him, could be very good pick-up.
