This try wouldn't have happened with Liam Williams defending here instead of Jordan Williams

Seremi Bai having a storming game at 12. He seems to be giving Burns confidence and finally a midfield that is working!

Presumably you mean it would have been a penalty try instead?

Doubt it would have been a penalty try. Galzarre is practically wearing red. Yellow card for a player lying on the ball with five Scarlets players off their feet lying all over the ball and man. Shambolic.

Watch the replay again, the maul changes line and there is 3 tigers players in front of the ball carrier thus creating an obstruction.

Possibly, but still better than Jordan Williams soft tackling.

Once the ball carrier has bound at the front and the opposition has bound, they aren't offside if they remain bound. It doesn't matter how the maul moves. Not sure what you mean by "changes line"

It's pretty new actually (1 or 2 years max) but when there is a lineout drive, we often heard ref saying "same line" this mean it is the same maul so players in front aren't offside but when it's a different line it's a new maul and players can't be in front of it. The rule definitely isn't very clear though and can led to different interpretation which can be a bit frustrating.
Well look at this:

Never heard of "changing lanes". There is no mention of it in the IRB laws. There is nothing even close to it in the laws. Is it a Pro12 mandated interpretation? I know the RFU give direction to their refs. Or since it is Lacey(?) has he just made it up? I've noticed him not really following the laws before.
Edit: but cheers for the explanation. I know what you mean now

Afraid to say that Leicester really are a middling team this season. Injury ravaged Scarlets making them look good. Defence has been poor.

Munipola is a lucky boy. It would be surprising if he doesn't get a few weeks rest from the CC for that.

Only heard bits here n there on the radio but despite being in a losing side it sounded like Priestland had another good game and his confidence seems to be returning. Also Sc Williams and Ball seemed to have had good games.

Apart from the tee, thought Priestland was instrumental with the ball. Scott Williams had a very good game too and Hadleigh Parkes is quality, great signing.

Couple of kicks from hand were to ambitious in his own half. Was pretty good otherwise. Played flat and loved the ball well. His kicking off the tee was excellent.
Scarlets looked good in Tigers 22. Backs moved the ball well but were helped by some school boy Tigers defending.

Didn't notice the stamp, it was the swinging arm to Barclay's neck that looked dangerous.

The usual players letting the Scarlets down...the coaches must be watching a different game to us. The only positives for the Scarlets were Evans, Ball and Williams. Those are 3 Wales starters for me.

Tom Young's made a huge impact, Ben Young's was my MOTM, Parling and Kitchener did very well (yellow card aside), Croft was well Croft, sublime in the line out, like another back in open play, and loitering outwide and not doing enough in the rucks for a 6 IMO. All in all great news for england...get Kitchener in !

Wayne Pivac has mentioned the swinging arm and says they have a replay of it. I suspect whoever did it will have a case to answer.
"John took a swinging arm and has a burst eardrum," added the New Zealander.
"We have the replay and it was a cheap shot."

Evans won't start, Jenkins and James are ahead of him at the moment but I do like look of him and we need new blood at L/Head as well now.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Shinglers play acting and dive? The so called high tackle where the Leicester players are wrapped round the ball NOT the neck. Happened just before the Scarlets try. The biggest dive I have ever seen in rugby. Shingler should be cited for unsportdman like behaviour.

The ref said they would check it, but after a short time he said there was no replay from the TMO, so play on. Of course there is a clear replay around 55 minutes, but Sky 'surprisingly' didn't show any of it.

Re: Leicester vs Scarlets - Friday 16th Jan, 19:45
Got home ad midnight and now up playing dad taxi all day.
Surprised by some of the comments - especially re Freddie Burns who i thought was very good. Overall though we were far too manic in the desperate need to score tries. Created problems and two tries for ourselves by tapping penalties in our own 22.
Scarlets had a chance to win that, but frankly there front 5 were incompetent at the set piece. Back row very good at slowing down the ball without upsetting the ref and backs ran straight and passed flat. We still run far too laterallly.
Worst thing is now we have a smidge of hope and Ulster will ram that hope right up our......
funniest moment had to be Steven Shingler's impression of Wayne Rooney. Burns catches the ball but Shingler is down like Bambi's mum, rolls 3 times and clutches his face as if it has been ripped off.
Bizzarest moment was when the Scarlets choir followed up a rendition of "Flower of Scotland" with "the Fields of Athenry"

Ulster have nothing to play for, and no backrow, so a 5 pointer is very much on the cards.

Overall I guess it was job done but you get the feeling something isn't clicking with the Tigers & at times they look ordinary.
Good report LT & I suspect Shingler will be getting some stick for that bit of 'wendyball acting' from his teammates. We don't want to see that in the game.

Nathan you didn't miss much. Highlights will be ample for that one. Ref did his best to ensure no fluent game broke out and Tigers used the old rolling maul for three tries. Both Harry Robinson tries will have you seriously worried about next weekend as we can't operate a simple drift defence.
Agree with LT, we're playing very patchy rugby and the trip to Ravenhill will be like an Andy Dufresne prison romance. Also agree that Burns had a good game overall. Much improved performance and Bai looked good at 12.

Didnt miss much Seriously ? I'm a neutral and enjoyed this game so much. 8 tries 60 points, tigers trying to score a try with every penalty instead of going for the posts, real attacking endeavour from both teams running it out there own 22. Some headless play from both teams but Some great line out steals, some big rolling maul tries and When both teams were totally shagged on comes tigers replacements and they ramp it up again. Ref did a fine job certainly no need for criticism

So should Mulipola have seen red twice? an absolute joke if true and hope he get a long ban to show for his efforts.
All in all i though that was a better game than what i thought it would be on that crappy pitch.

Not sure why the ref is being criticised so much on here. Thought he reffed the game well, gave Tigers all the momentum (and penalties) at the scrum as the script called for and allowed a lot of open play.
Tigers were good fir their win I thought, they played a good structured game that was too powerful for Scarlets.

As said earlier only heard bit n pieces on the radio but was quite surprised by the half time score, given the Scarlets were down to bare bones in the front row its sounds like they made a decent fight of it for 50 minutes at least.
