I won't do a list, but films I liked that are missing are, Lock Up, Over The Top, and Red Heat.
Jingle All The Way, is a joke I'm guessing?

You're putting "The Running Man" above "Demolition Man"?

I thought Cobra, Over the Top and red heat were complete s**te ............Poor production values for the first two.....Haven't put Tango and Cash on there either..
Each to their own..............I have D-Tox at 12 and most people hate that.

Oh yes!
I'd have Rocky II as well, top 5 maybe.

Rocky 2 for me with Rocky 5 are the two worst of the series..........
To be honest I overlooked Rocky Balboa..............But it's not a big omission............A bit too far fetched.

Not sure you can throw that line around too casually with some of the nonsense that makes your top 20, but seeing as you are, I'll stick "Daylight" in thereTRUSSMAN66 wrote:Rocky 2 for me with Rocky 5 are the two worst of the series..........

Constant reference to homosexuality does you no favors....
D-Tox was a good movie.............Editing was shocking but still.............

Just as well the constant references to the Didsbury 2nd Eleven refer to you being cuckolded by your good lady.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:DAVE667 wrote:Yet you put D-Tox in there???

You talk about the art of a good horror/suspense film citing The Fog as an example (oh well, but I digress...) and then say D-Tox was a good film. A little consistency would be nice...over and above always talking nonsense

Re: Sly vs Arnie - The Top 20 !!
Probably too many big words for ya...however, the ability to edit a film properly can be the difference between successfully building tension and giving the game away far too early. Figured out the bad guy in D-Tox early doors and the rest of the film was an exercise in pointlessness. You say it was edited badly but it's still a good film?TRUSSMAN66 wrote:DAVE667 wrote:And therein lies your fundamental problem big fellaTRUSSMAN66 wrote:DAVE667 wrote:Just as well the constant references to the Didsbury 2nd Eleven refer to you being cuckolded by your good lady.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:DAVE667 wrote:Yet you put D-Tox in there???

Re: Sly vs Arnie - The Top 20 !!
I kind of agree and disagree with you both.
I can see what Dave is saying but at the same time you can have a poorly edited/ directed film but it still be good.
Take Tarrantino. Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs are lauded as modern day classics but for me, are not brilliantly shot or put together.
However, take a QT script and give it to a proper film maker in Tony Scott, and you get True Romance which beats every other QT film aesthetically.
All three are great films but only one is also brilliantly produced.
I havent seen D-Tox so cant really offer up much!
And just because a film is not critically lauded, doesnt mean that its a poor film.
My offering of a film which is poorly made on all levels but has a great script and heart, and is better than the Terminator is TRANCERS.

Re: Sly vs Arnie - The Top 20 !!
NightHawks is a great movie and well deserved on this list.
For what it is worth, I enjoyed what Oscar was trying to be.
Okay, here is my top 12 in no particular order - it turns out there are 6 each!:
First Blood
Rocky II
Total Recall
NightHawks
The Running Man
True Lies
Demolition Man
CliffHanger
Rocky Balboa
The Running Man
Predator
Terminator II

Re: Sly vs Arnie - The Top 20 !!
I kinda liked demolition Man but found it a little boring in parts......
If Commando had been 60 minutes long and finished after that superb black girl who took a great part bazooka'd that police truck.........
It would have been my favorite film of the lot.........Ending killed that movie..
Copland I found turgid..........Waste of great actors..
First blood was terrific.........The others I found dreadful........

Sky top 5
I'm only going to put one of the franchises in, ie rocky and terminator 2, rather than filling sly's up with rocky films.
Rocky
First Blood
Cliffhanger
Lock Up
Arnie Top 5
Terminator 2
Predator
True Lies
Twins
Commando
