Nice to see some actual knowledgable people on here show his baloney up for the rubbish it is, before we even get to the issue that if this 'weakness' was so obvious/easy to exploit - why has nobody been able to? Not even the guy with arguably the fastest hands in boxing??!

Loma will continue to make a mockery of Strongy, that's good enough for me.....

I have explained everything and shown videos. Is that too hard to take.

You and Coxy are too peas from the same pod. Two load mouth southerners who wished they were from London.

And Coxy the hook does not get shortened when hitting a side stepping fighter.

All I see is people disagreeing with no counter argument. Three fingers said throwing a left hook at a side stepping fighter was cow pat. I think it has been well and truly demonstrated who was talking cow pat.

No, you haven't. You've shown a video of Ricky Hatton, for example, never mentioning the check hook once. You've shown him talk about something that he was in no way capable of pulling off against a world class boxer.

That's about as useful as you saying all a Loma oppo has to do to beat him is to turn invisible. Pointless.

3Fingers has utterly exposed you as the charlatan you are. Others have chipped in but all other comment is superfluous to 3F's erudite destruction of your arguments.

Chill out everyone, it's half term and we should all be happy, cause those of us with kids get to spend time with our little bundles of joy, and those without don't have to put up with the school run rush hour mob.

It is if you know what your doing or the animals drugged, in the early days of hunter gathering the animals wouldn't just stand around like sheep today.

As I presume that's where Strongy's attitude is coming from I was relating it that period.

In today's world hunt and gather means bringing in the money.

Maybe the man and women both work. Traditionally though the man makes the money and the woman looks after the kids. I'd say a lot of us grew up with this setup.

No it doesn't you wamprat, it's always meant as actual hunting and gathering. Bringing home the bacon (after it's been skinned, gutted and sliced) is the phrase you use for who brings home the money.

You just tried to play the manly manly card which was stupid back in the day, never mind now.

No she's not, she just realized quickly that if she f*cked it up on purpose enough, you'd "step in and show her how to do it properly". She's mugged you off like a good 'un there mate. (I only know this cos I fell for it many years ago with a bone idle b!tch I used to live with)

Or take 2 hours to cook things that are supposed to only take half an hour (a constant source (or should that be sauce) of amusement in our gaff)

Ha ha not sure about these gender role ideals. My boss is female and she's welcome to her higher wage, I wouldn't want all the pastoral drama she deals with. I'd happily stay at the glass ceiling of head of faculty thanks Smile.

I've no doubt the Mrs will earn more than me when she's my age as well, she's a smart cookie. So smart in fact she 'forgot' to book off this half term week for us to go away so I'm home alone sorting the house out and venting to you cherubs. Gender roles eh!

This one'd deviated so much I'd write it off as a lost cause to be honest Rowls.

I did mean to ask Strongback about Cotto's perceived mental weaknesses but I think that opportunity has long gone now.

Does anyone else not have these lists and just watch what they can when they can?

I see them all the time and it's really interesting to know the hows and whys some people rate fighters but I can just never be bothered making a list.

I said nothing of the sort. What I did say was... throwing a check left hook (with the rear leg rotating clockwise) against a fighter who was side stepping right is a ridiculous notion.....because at the end of the sequence your opponent would STILL be facing you while you would have rotated to face away from him.

Later you provided a definition of a check hook to suit your argument which is basically "throw a punch when someone walks onto it and the power will be increased"....but dressed up as something more complicated than its worth.

Infact, rather than rubbish the suggestion that throwing hooks is cowpat, I beleieve throwing 'STANDARD' hooks at a side stepping fighters is essential in certain scenarios. For instance, helping to cut the ring off more effectively than footwork alone, used like so: you walk a man down and get him against the ropes, then, you block his sideward escape (through the opening on eitherside) with a hook, i.e. he moves to his right you throw a left hook, he moves to his left you throw a right hook.

Overall, I think the confusion stems from the recent formulation of an unfamiliar term 'check hook', like I say, I'd never heard of it until Mayweather said it.

I'd say that I generally make an effort to watch boxing when I can but I definitely have a list of 'can't miss' fighters. I've set the sky plus to record GGG this weekend.

I don't have box nation but I'd look into sorting something out should Pacquaio Mayweather ever see the light of day. Same goes if Cotto's next fight is againt someone decent.

I'll be watching GGG and hopefully Paul Smith too, I like watching Crolla (local boy done good,) and was enjoying Quigg up until his last few fights.

I used to be a massive fan of the little domestic fights (Friday Fight Night) but we don't seem to get any decent matchups any more. Oh and I'm really looking forward to Josh Warringtons next fight.

I'm getting older now so don't tend to stay up but the one I always will for is Khan, love him or hate him he's always in cracking fights.

Absolutely will 100 percent refuse to pay for Pac and May, pair of idiots. I keep saying i'll get boxnation, then I go to work watch some of it that turns into twaddle and don't do it  again.

I forgot I always try and catch Bellews fights as well, I know he's not the greatest and such but for some reason he makes me laugh and I really want to see him grab part of a title (more for his family really.)

@3F's cheers for that m8y i'm a little less confused now.

After looking at finances at the start of the football season I decided I shouldn't get box nation if I was going to get a season ticket at Cardiff.

I'd be lying if I said that decision doesn't run through my head on occasion as I sit there, freezing my nugs off watching what can only be described as turgid, Sunday league football that would make league of Wales teams blush.

Oh it's dire, mate. Honestly.

Your lot looked decent when they came down. We were (not first time) dead in the water after half an hour.

I thought BN would go down the international route to be honest. With the exodus to Matchroom and Frank facing lawsuits I assumed they'd be putting more emphasis on the international cards.

I'd be lying if I said that decision doesn't run through my head on occasion as I sit there, freezing my nugs off watching what can only be described as turgid, Sunday league football that would make league of Wales teams blush.

How's Matty Kennedy getting on, he's mates with one of my relations. McAleny is a good player, Everton won't sell him.

Too early to tell at the minute Strongback. There's a much needed injection of enthusiasm needed at the club so I'll welcome any young bucks trying to make a name for themselves.

Seems many at the club happy picking up their wages, going through the motions and not pushing for promotion (knowing they'd likely lose their place should we go up). Although at the moment it seems laughable to talk about promotion considering what I'm seeing.

All fun and games though. Don't want to depress you guys any more speaking about Cardiff Smile!!

Really good to see someone put up JMM. The guy is just so fun to watch. It's a shame he's getting on now.
