New rugby moderator
The observant amongst you will have noticed that Scarlet Spiderman no longer has a shiny blue badge. He unfortunately cannot commit to the role anymore, and has yearnings for going back to being the forum 'bad boy'!
As such BedfordWelsh has been promoted to moderator.
I'm sure you will all help him bed into his new role and won't make life difficult for him whatsoever...
Thanks to Spidy for all his efforts as a moderator - enjoy being 'normal' again!
Cheers,
RDW

Shame, but this forum is crying out for a specialist Welsh "reejunal" rugby guru of sorts. Someone who can intervene and tell the bickering Taffy Tommies the truth about the war, if you like.

I am most definitely Welsh, born n bred Ebbw Vale boy but alas as the Bedford part would suggest I am currently living on the wrong side of the bridge due to settling in that area after doing 26 yrs for Queen and Country.

Did Ebbw Vale RFC merge with Newport RFC to create the Drags?

Initially yes along with Caerphilly though how Caerphilly came under Gwent not sure but then it all went wrong and was big fall out between Brown and Russell.
Then unfortunately Ebbw slipped down the standings until they made their way back up to the top rung of the Semi Pro league. Though that said even when we were in the lower leagues there was a good relationship between the Dragons and the schools and youth system in and around Ebbw, whether that was down to Kingsley or not who knows.

My Brother in-law grew up in Caerphilly and is a Dragons fan (suddenly a big Dragons fan this season). And congrats with the appointment boss.

Nah, not for me thanks, but thanks for the support, I have enough on my plate with a teenage daughter and a very wicked 7 yr old daughter to deal with, plus a wife who nags the crap out of me, I might end up coming on here and sending one of you lot to your room, and then go home and ban one of my daughters from this place, it could all get very messy, especially if I am going to have to try and stop the infighting between us Welshies. Oh god the thought of it, the pain, the pain of it all.

Surely she can't have more authority over you, she is your wife therefore she has 110% control over you already.

Fair point although a Valley's wife has much more control than that, so i've learnt recently. My great grandmother for instance who lived in the next valley over. Been told that she was 5 foot nothing, 6 kids, fanatically religious and ruled the roost with a rod of iron.
