2015 MotoGP season
First topic message reminder :
As no-one made a topic I took the liberty to make one myself
Anyway MotoGP of Qatar is tomorrow and a reinvigorated Ducati seemed to have bucked up their ideas big time for 2015.
Andrea Dovizioso powered to pole position. Followed by the Factory Honda duo Dani Pedrosa and reigning(2x) world champion Marc Marquez. Ducati's improvement is further indicated by Andrea Iannone getting P4 and Parmac Ducati's Yonny Hernandez getting P5.
Yahama seem a little bit off at present with Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi P6 and P8 respectively. Sandwiching Bradley Smith on his Tech3 Yamaha.
Poor days for both Cal Crutchlow, who crashed in qualifying, P12 and Scott Redding P14 both on Honda's. Crutchlow in particular is a rider I often keep an eye on but he seems to make too many errors.
Also will be keeping an eye former Moto3 champion, and another Spanish whizkid, Maverick Vinales and 2014 Moto3 runner up Jack Miller(whom has been likened to the legendary Casey Stoner.
Moto2 also look ultra competitive this year with with Tito Rabat trying to defend his championship. 2014 Moto3 champion Alex Marquez(Marc's younger brother) will be one to keep an eye on in this series.

Re: 2015 MotoGP season
Huge controversy at Sepang as Valentino Rossi kicked Marc Marquez out of the race. Tensions had been high between the Master and the protégé, but Rossi allowed his head to rule his heart and has more likely gifted the championship to Jorge Lorenzo.
For the record Dani Pedrosa dominated the entire weekend and registered his serving consecutive victory. Jorge Lorenzo was second and Valentino Rossi was third(pending outcome of stewards investigation).
Standings:
Rossi 312
Lorenzo 305
Marquez 221

Very stupid move by Rossi... There's no way he doesn't get DQ

Race control have given Valentino Rossi 3 penalty points, in addition to the 1 penalty point he picked up earlier this season. Therefore Rossi shall start last in Valencia...Lorenzo is champion in all but name...

Re: 2015 MotoGP season
Well all the drama was in the battle for third place. I t was obvious that Rossi wasn't his usual cocky self before the race from the grim look on his face,he was out to cause trouble.Anyone who upsets Rossi does so at their own peril.I would like to know what he said to Lorenzo on the podium for Lorenzo to storm off before the photos.I can only remember one rider from the past who couldn't be trusted to play fair and that was Phil Read, the dirty trick he played on the late great Bill Ivy is well documented. If Rossi has lost all chance of the title he has only himself to blame

If you break into someone's home you deserve what you get. I have no sympathy whatsoever.

Re: 2015 MotoGP season
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed Valentino Rossi's request to stay the execution of the decision issued by the FIM Stewards on 25 October 2015.
Accordingly, the decision of the FIM Stewards to impose 3 penalty points on Valentino Rossi's record following an incident with Marc Marquez during the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix race held on 25 October 2015 stands and Valentino Rossi will commence the next (and last) event of the season, to be held in Valencia/Spain on 6-8 November 2015, from the last grid position.
After the race in Malaysia, the FIM Race Direction found that Valentino Rossi had deliberately run wide in order to force Marc Marquez off line, resulting in contact causing Marquez to crash out of the race.
For this breach of the FIM regulations, the FIM Race Direction imposed 3 penalty points on the rider's record, a sanction confirmed later by the FIM Stewards. Since Valentino Rossi already has 1 penalty point from an earlier incident this year, this decision brings him to a total of 4 penalty points.
On the basis of the FIM Regulations, a rider with 4 penalty points must start the next race from last grid position.
This request for a stay was filed at CAS on 29 October 2015 by Valentino Rossi together with his appeal to have the FIM Steward's decision regarding the 3 point penalty annulled or at least reduced. The CAS Arbitrator, appointed by mutual agreement of the parties (Prof. Ulrich Haas/Germany), heard the representatives of Mr Rossi and FIM yesterday at the CAS office in Lausanne in order to rule exclusively on the urgent request for a stay to determine whether or not Valentino Rossi should start from last grid position in Valencia. The CAS Arbitrator found that the conditions to grant the stay were not met, which means that the sanction imposed by FIM will have to be served at the next Grand Prix in Valencia.

Re: 2015 MotoGP season
Congratulations to Lorenzo who kept his cool under pressure to win the title for Yamaha. Dare I say it with all the Rossi fans on this website? but I think the result would have been the same even if Rossi hadn't been stupid at Sepang and he hadn't had three points deducted and didn't have to start at the back of the grid,on the day Lorenzo and the two Honda riders were too fast for Rossi who finished 19 seconds behind the winner, granted he would have slowed down a bit when he saw there was no chance of catching the leading bunch. Lorenzo would have still taken the title by two points.
