A thrilling end to the Shell Houston Open and one that meant Johnson Wagner could not repeat his 2008 heroics and earn another trip to the Masters. J.B. Holmes came storming through the field with a 64 for low round of the day. He was a popular pick amongst Fantasy Leaguers with him appearing in nine selections and on several benches too. He wasn't quite as popular as Matt Kuchar who was picked by nearly everyone; Kuchar slumped to 78 and the worst score. Three Fantasy Leaguers didn't pick either of these and the duo actually appeared in seven lineups.
Fantasy Leaguers picked seven of the top nine and had another six picks score points. 1GrumpyGolfer, Barragan, and Kouchi had four of their picks score points and Kouchi was one of the two highest finish points scorers. CJB may only have had two picks score points but he had two of the playoff contenders including the winner. Both CJB and Kouchi came close but no cigar this time. BlueCoverman, Boyhyde, Hibbz, Kwinigolfer, LadyPutt, Pedro, and SirBenson all had three picks score. Boyhyde couldn't close the gap on Pedro and he held on for victory.
Beninho, Davie, EmmDee57, Incontinentia, McLaren, SetupDetermines, Super_Realist, and TheCleaver all had two picks score points; some for good finishes and others for finishing at the bottom of the heap. RedRage and I'm Never Wrong had one picks score points. Fifty four places may have separated Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler but they had the same scoring worth. Fowler finished last after a poor weekend.
Davie may have finished in midtable obscurity but his second team would have done the business for him; maybe he needs to rethink his strategy...

A warmup for the Masters and one final opportunity to find a golden Easter egg, scoring an invite to the Masters; it's win or bust in that respect. Even though it is the last chance saloon it can still be done. Johnson Wagner was the first in 2008, D.A. Points managed it in 2013, and last year's playoff winner, Matt Jones earned not just a Masters ticket but his maiden PGA Tour win. It's an event that often produces a playoff, second only to the US Open in that respect on the PGA Tour, and surprisingly has had only back to back winner in Vijay Singh in 2004-05.
Jordan Spieth is still the headliner, he's joined by fellow Top Tenners in Sergio Garcia, and Texas Open winner, Jimmy Walker. A total of 23 players from the Top 50 are here. Seven former champions from the last 15 years are taking part; the three mentioned before plus Hunter Mahan, Phil Mickelson, Paul Casey, and Robert Allenby.
There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one. There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category. Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus. It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.
This is a full field with cut event, cut points will be available; see above.

RULES
Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:
Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.
Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).
If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.
Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.
Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligble for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores. If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.
Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply. Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.
Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.
Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.
All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Thanks Kwini, I've updated the field listing.
Barra, Blue, and Davie all have reserves ready to step in but they may wish to add another reserve just in case another Cat A player pulls up sick, lame, or lazy.

Red - Walker withdrew earlier in the week, I'm guessing that the strike through in the listing wasn't clear enough. I've promoted Sergio to pick. You may want to add another reserve just in case.

SirB, because of how the categories are split (based on world ranking) the earliest it could be done is Monday because that's when the OWGR site publishes. I typically like to post normal events on Tuesdays because the field would have been updated with qualifiers and replacements.
Adding the Masters to the title is no problem.

In stark contrast to the Valero Texas Open the Shell Houston Open was a veritable birdie fest. No matter where players were they managed to get the ball in the hole in fewer shots. To reach the Top 5 Low Round Scores players needed to shoot 66 or lower. Seven players managed that and four of them were picks. SirBenson bouncing back well had three of them and he takes the lead over Kwinigolfer, Pedro, and Redrage who each had two of them. Boyhyde, CJB, Hibbz, Kouchi, SetupDetermines, and Super_Realist all had one of their picks amongst the scoring players. If Davie had picked his p*rnstar team not only would he have been off of the mark he would also have been in solo 5th spot.

Scott Piercy shot 63 for the Low Round of the day and, Andres Romero and Max Homa shared the worst round with 80s. Max was part of Davie's second team...

Another massacre in Texas saw a chainsaw be taken to the number of Fantasy League picks left standing. More than half slammed their trunks and got the hell out of Dodge, I mean Humble. Cat C was decimated with just eight picks left and Cut Bonuses were only awarded in Cat A. 20 Fantasy Leaguers kept their Cat A picks intact with Kwinigolfer suffering from the winner's curse in the next event and can you guess who else wouldn't have earned a bonus? Yep, you got it dear reader, Super_Realist was the other.
Boyhyde fared the best of the Fantasy Leaguers losing just two picks. While 1GrumpyGolfer, Barragan, EmmDee57, Kouchi, and LadyPutt all have six picks left. Darn it, though a pair of 66s would be good for some bonus points until the late 65s came in. At least Reifers did me proud coming back in -4 to squeeze into the weekend proceedings.

Superb Grumps - I love the fact the p0rn star team beat everyone else! In all the years a ran a comp like this back in the day, and one guy had that idea to enter a PS team, he never got anywhere near the top!
Hope it's not too much extra work for you to add the novelty team to it .. I may keep it going if it's not causing you too much trouble .. see if the silly names and German adult movie mustaches can continue their form!

Cheers guys!
I'm one of the top 5 fantasy players in world and when I play to my full potential it will be just me and Tiger...
P.S. Does this mean I'm now qualified for The Masters??
