Season 7 Homepage VII
First topic message reminder :
Pooly do you actually read what is posted ??? I Actually say it's not a red but point out why they may have upheld it. As "most" people who watch the game know concussion Is a hot topic and the RFU has to show it's being tough on it and by virtue of this they are going to be a bit reactionary to people who cause it.
As I point out if he has not been knocked out there would not have been a red. Hughes had no need to run in and it was careless.
Please take the trouble to read posts carefully.

Sje, quick question.
Injury page has players returning AP R19, AP R20, Euro QF, but fixture order will be AP R19, Euro SF, AP R20. What order do we get players back?

Koh lanta is divided into 3 or 4 districts. You have the first bit fairly near to the pier which is pretty back packery and good at night. The restaurants on the pier are tremendous for fish. After that the best place is the far end of the island out past the pimolay hotel. Really remote and really chilled. There is. National park on lanta I think.

Cheers Matt cracking advice. Spent most of our time down in the south. National park beach amazing. Cheers.

Has anyone seen much of Chris Harris the Falcons 13? Looks absolute class , him and Tom Penny on the wing will go far. We play such good rugby now, real beacon for Northern rugby.

Good signing for them, he's had some good games for Saints this season but no chance of getting ahead of Myler. Chiefs making some very good signings for next season - apparently very close to signing Salvi from Tigers as well.

Will be interesting, good game to try it out too, although I'm not sure how Lahiff will do at tighthead so might be on the back foot at scrum time. Louw can look after the breakdown and he can just carry and tackle

Came across this site this week...
http://www.rugby.net/s/vAoAYZZolKk#Tx:c=5380666493501440&s=6103068449964032&g=6579667238649856&m=5753764489199616&q=6432319258755072
Gives player form rankings based on some sort of scoring system. Not sure exactly what stats they use to score on, but thought it was interesting to see a slightly more objective view on form than our differing opinions.

Re: Season 7 Homepage VII
To be fair there's little to argue with from the Super rugby I've seen (which is a fair bit this season).
Matt will love this one the amount he harps on about Pollard.
1. Cruden
2. Foley
3. Lambie
4. Barrett
5. Pollard
That's pretty much the same order I'd go with. Crudens kicking has been poor but he's been in outstanding form besides that.

I watched the Blues game, and as you say, he missed some kicks you'd expect him to get and is currently kicking at about 70% for the season, but the rest of his game was excellent. Love watching the Chiefs play, am hoping Tom coventry can bring some of that sort of style to irish next season.

Re: Season 7 Homepage VII
Cruden has just had a few bad games with the boot. Him and Lambie have looked the best for me, Cruden up top though.
Past that it's Foley, Barrett etc but a bit behind. Barrett is attacking really well and Pollard steady if not spectacular.

I thought it was an interesting site prop, as we all have opinions, but obviously there are plenty of things which skew our view, whereas this is much more matter of fact.

Re: Season 7 Homepage VII
Essentially that site is like when they pick the carling opta stats.
Barrett pollard and foley been the best for me.
I could show a million articles saying that pollard is the form
Super 15 player eg all his appearances In more team of the week than any 10. Lambie had the odd good game particularly in poor conditions but had some stinkers before getting injured. I have watched most s15 this year and have been light on prem.
Stats are an
Utter nonsense in rugby.
Ntubeni is best hooker in that team and BDP near top of penalty count
Can't find anything to show the methodology. Not sure if it counts number of games etc.

Your opinion of course but completely disagree. I've been saying Pollard has just been ok and this backs it up.
He's certainly a long way from "form S15 FH" that we hear every other day.
Good site Pete, always good to see if you opinions go with the stats form. Bad to judge form from just stats though.

Have you noticed it
Varies week on
Week and that there over all scores have reduced from last week. At end of feb cruden was 8 and Matt Toomua 3rd at 10
Weird is it just done round by round ?! Would explain the volatility

Re: Season 7 Homepage VII
I don't think it's volatile as such Mat, it just changes based on weekly performance. The points totals look cumulative, so if you were say 8th, you need at least a couple of good games to get up to top 3 if everyone else above you was average in by he same period.
It looks a reasonable barometer to me , unlike some team of the round/season things I read where it's clear that those writing have just selected the favourites.
Most of the players I expected to see in top 10's are in there.

Re: Season 7 Homepage VII
Can you explain where the stats come from what they are based on etc ???
I think its done on each week looked at a few diffeent positions and they change dramatically week on week.
Without any criteria its hard to take it seriously.
I am assuming its like the carling opta football team of week and 100 percent stats. Always produces laughable teams and football suits stats better

Re: Season 7 Homepage VII
Why do there point totals reduce some weeks if it's cumulative ???
The hooker table is a nonsense for example. As Is prop.
Sio is a prospect and a great carrier but not been best in s15. Looks like they are taking the carrying stats as a major factor for props

I really struggle with something that there is no explanation for being taken as being valid.
It's basically same as believing in Jesus or Santa Claus
Would love to see the methodology as I would be really interested in the site then

Agree Pete, I like it.
It seems like it's quite accurate (as in roughly best players are making top 10's). A few positions are debateable but some like the FH for example, are bang on imo.
