Do you happen to know who your son found the trickier opponent out of Mikey Garcia and Lomachenko?

Re: Questions for Gary Russell SR
Gary fired his conditioning coach directly after the Lomachenko loss.
Was your son out of sorts in that fight after some rapid weight loss just prior to that fight, or was Lomachenko better than you were expecting, and is a rematch a likelihood in the near future?

Re: Questions for Gary Russell SR
Does he think he's missing out on one of Boxing's hottest divisions by 4 pounds ??
Is rigo on the radar now or doesn't he think his boy is ready ?
Is his future at 126 or is winning titles at different weight an ambition ??

Harsh to say gifted, Gonzalez is a tough guy and is capable of an upset, Russell is a genuinely good fighter, Lomachenko is special.

Gifted a shot rather than gifted a strap would be fairer. It's a typically Yank-led joke that GRJr can get humbled by Lomachenko but then in their next fights Loma's going nowhere and Jr gets a shot at a pretty limited champion who Loma would've made a mockery of.
Like when Martinez got a strap after losing to Frampton. It's a joke calling them champ.

Yet Lomachenko was gifted two shots at titles despite losing the first Toppy, not much difference between them.

He was bringing something to the table though, amateur superstar and potential future legend of the sport.
Plus his 'loss' to Salido was a bit of a joke, was a dirty rough-house performance from Salido who'd cheated before he even got in the ring. Jr was comprehensively outclassed and beaten, on the other hand.

Re: Questions for Gary Russell SR
If we look past your increasingly absurd anti North American boxer bias then I don't see any real difference between the two.
You can use all manner of excuses but Lomachenko lost to Salido because he couldn't handle the rough house performance which lets honest has been happening since time and memorial.
Gary Russell jnr was a potentially top class amateur but Americans don't tend to hang around the amateur scene too long which is why the Eastern Europeans and Cubans excel as the boxing super powers see it as a stepping stone. He was also a highly touted professional with huge potential, his career had stalled but I see no reason why Lomachenko can walk straight into two world title shots and he can't.

Re: Questions for Gary Russell SR
Was the jump in class of opponent ultimately what you think the reason for your loss to lomachenko
What have you learnt and what will you change, also how would you fight differently in a rematch
Who do you have your eyes on
Walters is noticably bigger than you with very big power, do you see yourself fighting him before he moves up which he will
Are you too small to move to 130 or 135 where the bigger money is
If you could share the ring with any featherweight in history who'd it be against
Do you try to observe any modern boxers and try to learn from them?
