Sounds like a maybug. My cats bring the feckers in all the time. Yours is a bit tardy though.

That's the one sean! Hah, who needs Tino? Not us mate!
I'm so pleased by this I won't even mention that it's also called a 'cockchafer' and that I'm therefore not surprised that you knew it.

They certainly made a compelling enough argument to convince me superfly. In other Paul McCartney related news he did a song with Kanye West recently. There were people posting on twitter stuff like "I don't know who this Paul McCartney is but his career is going to take off now Kanye is backing him"
Makes me concerned for the future of the planet.

They are mothers. Phuck up your lawn / cricket pitch either by eating the roots or being dug up by crows / foxes / badgers.

Middling performance on University Challenge. Managed to impart a pretence of authority on my guesses which were generally successful. Was distraught to miss out on the chance to use Caravaggio as an answer though. Jeff would be rolling in his grave were he dead.

Had no idea either, thought at first it was a repeat and then that it was a primary school special but it appears to be the first of a new series.

Morning Rickotine, giggly start to the day
A Grimsby Town fan has been found guilty of assaulting a football steward with an inflatable shark.
Kenneth Meech, 51, of Alexandra Road, Cleethorpes, watched his club win 3-1 at Barnet in a Conference game on 21 February.
Willesden Magistrates' Court heard he assaulted Barnet steward Cgagi Gladyng as he celebrated the victory.
Meech, who was among nearly 1,000 fans who travelled to The Hive stadium, denied a charge of common assault.
Mr Gladyng, 59, told the court he was hurt by the inflatable which was being waved "like an axe" and described the three blows to his head "as like being hit by a roll of paper".
He said he became frightened as the Grimsby Town fans surged towards the pitch.
'A bit deflated'
Meech was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £700 in costs, compensation of £100 and a victim surcharge.
He was not made the subject of a football banning order.
Speaking after the sentencing, he claimed the prosecution was a "waste of the taxpayer's money".
"I'm a bit deflated, to be honest," he said.
"Very surprised and shocked by the verdict, but got to respect what the court has said.
"I think if this didn't happen at football I wouldn't be here today, I'm sure of that."

Morning Shah. I'm as busy as a motherf*cker at the moment. I've had enough actually. I'm giving serious consideration to walking away. If I have to spend one more morning with my face pressed into the armpit of TopHat or someone of his ilk on the tube, I am going to get a bit SerialDAVE about it. I think I've reached my limit. This place chips away at your soul and I've done nearly 15 years here now. That's more than enough.

He's fine...
Good Morning to you both.
Firstly, a hearty congratulations on the 1st Ashes Test victory. You must be tickled pink, yes?
Our blokes... I can smell another disaster unless there are some changes and a drastic turnaround in fortunes. Winning the toss would be a good start.
Back from Canberra. Lovely place but so cold. We saw enough roadkill on the way home... went through Braidwood... where I got breathalised.
I asked the cop when are all the dead animals going to be removed... he said usually someone comes along "every few days" to pick up the carcasses.
Very nice drive down the Escarpment to Nowra via Sassafras. I highly recommend it to anyone if they ever get over here.

Did you go through Bateman's Bay? I camped there.
Cricket excellent, I did fancy a competitive series but thought Cardiff would be a draw and Aus would win at Lords. Importantly I think England have Smith's number and I think Clarke is finished. Puts a lot of pressure on Warner.

I don't need a therapist, Sean. Good looking or not.
LD, what's going on with Warner? Can't even bring himself to clap when Root gets a ton. Stands there with his arms folded like a child. Just how old is he? 12? 13?
The best thing about Aussie cricketers is the fact they recognise when someone has performed well. Even the hardest Aussie players that I have seen (Warne, for example) would shake peoples hands, applaud a century and show respect for their opponents.
Warner is just a clown. I get the fact he is thick as a brick but Lehman needs to pull him in line and tell him to grow up a bit.

No, we turned off at Braidwood instead of continuing on to Bateman's Bay. There's that nice little bridge over the Clyde at Nelligen which I remember when I was a kid. Some really odd and funny place names. One called Durran Durra. It's as if they got interrupted for spelling the first word incorrectly!
We'll have to wait and see re Smith; who has been amongst the runs for the last few years. Agree that with Clarke there is always a question mark over his fitness but he is a fighter too. Pressure on Warner and Haddin too. Get in Neville I say. Watto should have been booted out years ago. The effin' useless soft cocque! Will have to bring in M Marsh I'd say. Stick with Voges and hope that Rogers can settle down a bit and see off the inevitable storms which will no doubt come his way. He has a good temperament and plenty of experience.

That is actually an interesting one you have brought up there. In my younger more cavalier days I would not clap the opposition and it was very much a team stance at the time. Would you clap a 18 stone prop who has just trodden over you to score a try, or a centre forward who has risen above you to head in a corner? If you are in the field and someone is smashing you all over the park it is not a pleasant experience so I can understand Warner's demeanour (albeit by all accounts he is a bin rat c**t).
Nowadays I do clap a 'good' 50 or 100.

Yeah, less of a bully since the birth of his kid (poor child... maybe there is hope?) but he simply has the mind of a 10 or 11 year-old I'd wager.
Must say I conveniently missed most of the match being away. Switched on the telly in the hotel and knew when the sports segment came on and Wimbledon was the lead story, then something else, then the cricket.... that something had gone terribly wrong. Lucky I had some distractions and didn't dwell on it too deeply. Just hoping they can pull off some miracles now. I think only 3 of 15 (?) teams winning the series from behind have come back from 1-0 to win the damn little shaker thing with pepper in it.

A prop scoring a try or a header from a corner are small isolated moments in game that ends that day so no, I wouldn't clap, but I would shake everyones hand at the end. Scoring a century is a longer process and might not even contribute to a decisive result on that day so yes, he should show some respect. It's not the same thing as a try or a goal. Not in the slightest.
If you can understand Warner's demeanor, I would suggest that makes you a bin rat c*nt as well as him. Whatever the hell a bin rat c*nt is.

Someone of suspicious character, questionable morals and low-no care for physical appearance and general personal hygiene accompanied by an inflated but unjustified sense of self worth. Possibly reproducing and in turn, discrediting Darwin's theory of evolution.

Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
Thing about Warner is that he grew up in a pretty bleak sort of environment... near old post-war housing commission units. It is a very poor community but it is actually not that far from some nicer areas.
On one side is the oil refinery and some heavy industry on the northern side of Botany Bay... not far from La Perouse* The main attraction there is a small rock island now connected with a foot bridge where the French stuck up their flag.
However, if you drive a km or 2 over the hill you are in Coogee and then Bondi is a bit further along with some really stunning suburbs in between.
So in Warner's case; he has probably seen too much of the high life from a poorly educated upbringing. There's quite a few Indigenous folk in the area... street brawls, etc not uncommon. Mixing it with those kids playing cricket or rugby (like the Ella bros) probably roughed him up quite some.
But he found the bright lights... and now they are shining on him he has absolutely no clue about how to behave in public, no inkling of good manners, no basic knowledge about the world (in general) and how to act appropriately in it. No sense of decorum and he probably holds his cutlery the wrong way or eats directly from his hands.
He has a juvenile sense of humour, is bully-minded... almost bovine-like... with some rare form of distemper or mad-cow disease guiding his everyday behaviour and expressing that hideous volatility on some poor unfortunate individual.
*The French got tricked into setting up camp there and the Fleet used this as an excuse to keep looking for another spot to drop anchor.
So in the early morning, they slipped nonchalantly up the coast to hit the jackpot and win the glittering prize.

Nope, you’re saying what I was trying to say. But you’re brighter, more erudite and have a far better vocabulary than I have so it read like a grown up had written it.

I still don't think you should have to clap the opposition though. It is a sporting gesture but I don't believe it is written in the spirit of cricket guff that I get at the start of every year.
What I am hearing, and I think is out of order, is that Cook's invitation to the Aussies to share a beer in the dressing rooms post match was turned down by Clarke. Cardinal sin for a cricketer in my book.

Sean offended by the lack of antipodean bumming
Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
I kind of like to see opposition clapping players on the other team. Like Sean has alluded to a lot of guff is written about the spirit of the game etc, but I still like to see evidence of sportsmanship and the fact that cricket is not football. You can still compete hard and retain an element of sportsmanship. Clapping a ton or a five for does not mean you are not committed to winning or are not taking things seriously, it is a small gesture, but for me is one that cricketers should adhere to.

Who wouldn't want a beer after the game? I have only ever once left a ground without a beer at the bar and that was because an angry man wanted to kill me. Aussies have gone all soft c0ck.

It's probably a way of keeping his guys from losing the spite this loss should give them. Share a beer and the animosity lessens. Camaraderie is nice but not when it takes the edge off a humbling defeat. Clarke has an obligation to the Aussie team and this may be a part of the plan to give em the kick up the arse they deserve.
Re: The Culture Cup Round x - Adam is a naughty naughty boy
Yes, cricket is different to rugby or football.
Playing rugby at school you'd sometimes give a half-hearted reluctant clap (or two) minimising the eye contact. More clapping when I played semi competitive touch rugby (more like touch league though) Lots of teasing when putting the ball down and laughing, 'tormenting' in a friendly sort of way.... clapping and back patting the opposition (usually just an exhausted flick across the shoulder) and a "well done mate". Some healthy but not too nasty banter as well.
Clapping is one of the things I most enjoy about cricket. It's part of the game. Nothing better to hear that rustling sound of applause (when I stay up and listen on the radio) and to see players congratulate the opposition with proper respect when they achieve something when watching it live.
That's bad about Clarke's refusal to have a drink with the England team. That smacks of self-pity and poor sportsmanship. Such sour losers!
Like a bunch of sensitive little brats with a grudge against anyone who dares to criticise them, which in turn, affects their performance on the field.

I am immune from being wound up after the ex's 15 page email delivered at 11pm last night. Saddam probably got a better review in the botched WMD dossier.
