Fury vs Klitschko
Well... This is looking to be made in the near future.Thoughts? I admittedly wrote Fury off in the past, but he's really looked impressive recently. A big guy, with a good jab. It ll be tough but he ll make a fight of it.

Wlads on the slide and Fury has improved.

Fury looked decent against Chisora. Who else has he fought?

Klitschko will knock Fury out in a few rounds, if I was a gambler I would gamble big on Fury getting knocked out in the first 3 rounds.

It looks like Matchroom are going to put in a purse bid for this fight if a deal isnt reached by next week. If they win they are going to hold in in an outdoor venue in the UK. I would imagine they will be sticking it on Sky box Office too.

I'd be surprised if K2 don't win this.
Eddie is probably keen on putting a fight on in which the general public has some idea of who the guys in the ring actually are.

I would like to think Fury but in reality he seems easy to hit clean and square on,can't look past Klitschko on this one albeit he looked woeful against Jennings and has that terrified look when a fighter attacks.
One thing we know Fury won't go down wondering as many have against Wlad.
Cheers, Rodders

Re: Fury vs Klitschko
Good thing about Fury is that I think he believes he can win..........
Always had the impression with Wlad's last opponents they think "Oh I'll give it a go but I'll probably get beat"...
Think it was Pulev that staggered him with a jab..........Won't take much to knock this guy out...and Fury is taller with a bigger reach.........Hopefully he can catch him coming in....
Pick Wlad to win but I think Fury has got a decent chance....I really do.

Fair point Truss. He will definitely come to win.
Wlad was awful against Jennings, so you never know. He is pushing 40 after all. Fury could possibly find his chin, I hope he does. Would spark a little life into the heavyweight scene. Joshua will be the champ in 12-18 months anyway imo.

I just don't rate Wlad.............I think Bruno with his good jab and straight right would kill him in two...
I pick Wlad but Fury has an excellent chance.........just keep punching straight......
Lump never moves his head and comes forward in straight lines..
Sanders made him look like a novice..

That's a dead cert!
Can't say this is a fight I can get excited about, I'm not a fan of either of these two. Unlikely to be a classic.

It is a matter of size. Evolution. Isn't it, gentlemen? Fury is the most perfectly trained athlete ever. This other man Klitschko has not the size, the strength, the genetics to win. It is physically impossible for this Ukrainian to win. Fury is a look at the future

Re: Fury vs Klitschko
Wlad is quicker hits harder and is a much better athlete. Fury is big and tough and Wlad is getting on now so maybe he might cause some problems but I see Wlad stopping Fury in about 8-9..
It comes down to Furies chin, if he can take Wlads power it could get interesting..

I may live to have to eat my hat on this, but I think that anyone that thinks that Fury even stands a chance of making it interesting is deluded, either that or I have developed a blind spot with regards to Fury, but I honestly can't see anything remotely world class about Fury, even with the undoubted progress he's made in the last year or so,there's so many things he does badly, and the things that are his best strengths he's only average at.

HH, you're right he stands absolutely no chance and it will probably be a very short night, read the comment above yours to see the level of delusion at play here; Fury is not tough and cannot take Wlads power.

Re: Fury vs Klitschko
To be fair, I've never bought into the "new and improved Wlad" he may have had all the athletic talent, but he has a chin of porcelain, and horrible instincts when hit flush. To me, he will always be the other brother, and on that note, Sanders beats any version of him in the last ten years.
That, though, is very different to giving Fury a shot against him. Povetkin, Haye and probably Pulev are all better than him, and they lost pretty convincingly. Hell, I'm not even sure that Fury is better than Wach

Re: Fury vs Klitschko
A peak WK is more than a match for any HW, but he's going on 40. Klit won't be able to do his old jab and grab on someone Fury's size. Should be a decent fight as Fury is tough and will force the action perhaps looking to tire WK out late on.

Fury won't live with Wlads power. Wlad won't mess about in this one and Fury will go as soon as he's caught.
Wlad might take a bit of a bashing on here but you only need eyes to see he's leagues above Fury. Not even a Rahman Lewis chance.

Re: Fury vs Klitschko
As an aside, this is something I pondered last night. If a guy like Povetkin (6'2, Without the gorilla-like reach of an Ali, or Liston) wins the WBC strap from Wilder... what odds do people give Andre Ward of making an incremental jump to heavy? He's said before that he'd love to win a heavyweight title, and I think he's plenty good enough to overcome the size difference against a small enough (<6'4ish?) world champ.

Not against Povetkin. He hits like a motherf*cker and he's no stranger to wards rough style. I reckon he might have taken Ruiz or Byrd.

Re: Fury vs Klitschko
Unfortunately, Fury trains to take weight off (Peter Fury is suggesting four stones), which is why his physique always looks odd. I'm astonished they don't put him on the same "supplements" Klitschko takes.
I would dearly love to see Fury tear into Klitschko. Perhaps if he could mix it up a bit: nice steady boxing mixed with aggressive, pell-mell bursts, they could put Klitschko in his first fight for years. I could just as easily see Fury - livid at Wlad's holding - kick the champ in the balls or something equally off the wall.

Mark my words...Fury will be stopped inside four. He hasn't a hope. Quite frankly I'm staggered fans are giving him a chance.

Tend to agree, will acknowledge Fury has improved markedly, but this is more a reflection of how god awful he used to be than any leap into genuine world class by him. Suspect if Fury was from any other part of the world we would mark his chances about as well as we do most who get in with Wlad. Wlad hits harder, covers his chin better, has better conditioning, better footwork, the more commanding jab and greater discipline in the ring. I can't make an argument for Fury winning.

Re: Fury vs Klitschko
If Fury attacks him like Povetkin did, Klitschko would be in a real fight. With a ref willing to enforce the rules he might even get thrown out.

Fury attacks like that and he gets knocked out the moment Wlad lands, he has neither the chin or power to carry out those kind of tactics.

I'm sure Wlad is sat there wondering if Fury can take his right hand, after all the might Cunningham dumped him on his arse whilst he threw the kitchen sink at Chisora without actually budging him.

Re: Fury vs Klitschko
Only one of them has been the Heavyweight champion for the best part of a decade, it's absurdity to use big punchers like Sanders and Brewster as evidence of Fury being capable of knocking him out. He stands about as much chance as I have of beating Floyd Mayweather.

Re: Fury vs Klitschko
Who cares? Povetkin attacked him and reduced Klitschko into a near total display of holding and cheating to win. Fury can do the same. Of course he runs the risk of getting knocked out if he walks onto a big right hand. If he lands one himself then he will have Klitschko wobbling all over the place.

WK is a very good boxer but there is no doubt his size and how he uses it has played a big part in his career. With your example are we to conclude that Bryant Jennings is as good as David Haye and Povetkin, and better than Pulev? ...

What example? I didn't give an example, I just said Haye, Povetkin and Pulev are better than Fury. Moreover, I thought as underwhelming as the Jennings fight was, it was really standard fair. Good showing by Jennings, Klitschko easing past

The jab and grab tactics Klitschko used against Povetkin, Haye etc won't work on Fury. WK will be forced to fight and that's what makes this interesting.

You gave the example that Haye, Povetkim and Pulev are all better than Fury but all soundly beaten by WK. This was the example I was referring to.
