Floyd taking it easy for his last fight there is a rumour this will be on a PBC show

It won't be his last fight then if that's the case, he still has one more fight left on his Showtime contract and I doubt he's willing to get sued to high heaven for the sake of giving his fans a free fight.

Showtime is a CBS subsidiary. It's possible. If CBS have $40 million to throw around. Or if they believe that the final Floyd fight on FTA will be a ratings bonanza in line with the super bowl. Charge $2 million for a thirty second ad, etc.

Berto's nothing more than a Mayweather sparring partner at best these days.....so it doesn't surprise me Floyd would choose him.

Fought and beat big names such as Quintana, Urango, Forbes, and beat Josito Lopez who Khan DUCKED to get a fight with Algieri instead.

He has box office appeal and is a very dangerous opponent for Mayweather.

Apparently he'll pick up his usual fee - he just won't have the additional PPV monies (but he'll hope to make bank via sponsorships).

Berto must be the luckiest boxer in history when you see the purses he's picked up over the years (considering his limitations).

If it's on free TV I'll watch it. It's going to be just as interesting as most of Mayweather's recent fights have been. Certainly can't be much worse.

To be honest as much as I admire Mayweather's talent and the fact he pees some of the w**kers off that frequent the board...including the OP..

Think Boxing will be better served If he slings it soon and we can move on..

Khan is British, so plenty of British fight fans allow patriotism to cloud their judgement, just like they did when Hatton fought Floyd and Manny.

If Floyd wants to take a soft defence for his last fight, then fine. He'll win at s canter and retire with his 0 intact, wealthy and with all his faculties, so fair enough.

I won't bother to watch it. Sport's less interesting when you know the outcome before the contest has even taken place.

I think the biggest question should be: what does Andre Berto have on Al Haymon? HBO paid over $2m for the Quintana fight (which sold 972 tickets).

Im gonna guess Khan. It is interesting tho how Khan continues to under perform with b level fighters yet that's always forgotten just a few weeks after every one of his fights and then somehow he makes it back into the "khan troubles/only 147er who can beat the p4p No.1" boat.

Personally have no issues with mayweather going out with a somewhat easier fight, his last fight he shut out a guy half the planet felt would kick his ass for ages. What else must he do to satisfy the boxing fans?

Everyone at 147 and 154 wanted that fight and he's picked Berto. Berto was stopped by Soto Karass a couple of fights ago. He's stopped Lopez but him Lopez and Soto Karrass are all the same level. In between b and c. It's rubbish.

Having a pop at Khan saying he hasn't done enough when Floyd's given the fight to Berto who hasn't done anything is beyond me.

I'd have liked Brook to get it or Bradley, the two most deserving.

If it's his last fight then it's not a big problem really. Berto's not deserving based on his last few fights but you know Floyds having far too much fun winding Khan up about it and to be honest he should have faced a better class of opposition to force himself into a position whereby it would look like a duck if Floyd sidestepped him.

Won't be watching this myself (unless it's on at a decent time) but can't begrudge it too much.
