Not get in front of the ball carrier and prevent the defenders from getting to him? Pretty clear-cut penalty.

You just see that happening all the time without being penalised

Have we had more than two rucks without the ref blowing for a penalty?
Both teams need to adapt to the ref

Blow losing Gilchrist - he's had a promising start.
Plus Swinson is a midget in international terms.

Re: Scotland V USA 27th September
The commentators just said essentially the same thing. The American fly half kicking possession away too much. He does do this far too much in all games he plays. Shame as the Americans can do good things with the ball.RDW_Scotland wrote:USA not offering very much with the ball, and not getting much from their up and unders either

Re: Scotland V USA 27th September
What the point of that kick from Hogg. USA had just been warned by the ref. We have in the line out. Kick for the corner and put pressure on them. Instead we concede a penalty from the drop out and are now down a try.

The USA should have had a second try had they passed the ball. Not excuse for the Scottish forward pass a minute later.

This is dire.
Is strockosch playing?
Is Strauss on the field?
Where is Horne?
Only Bennett is acquitting himself

Scotland need to be in front at half time, I was afraid of this for them. USA at the moment hope to win, if their in front at half time they will be sure they CAN win, and will pull it all together. USA aren't even playing that well and can tighten things up a lot.

After SA being beaten by Japan, Scotland had a great chance to top the group but the needed to get bonus point wins I felt. A lot of work to be done in the second half from them but based on last game, they are a second half side.

Agreed. Horne a total waste of space.
Our errors are killing us and the USA are lethal with the pick and drives. Really physical.
I think we'll lose this. Our composure will not improve as the pressure mounts.

Re: Scotland V USA 27th September
I feel so sorry for RDS and Risky Sports, I REALLY want Scotland to do something good in rugby, but Scotland always do this, you get a bit of hope then Scotland do what they always do.
USA will come out flying in the second half now. Scotland need to make early changes and score first in this second half.

Na no need to panic lads, a couple of passes sticking and it would be a very different position right now. We need to cut out the stupid errors but I think we'll come out stronger in the second half

Re: Scotland V USA 27th September
So my policy of getting stuck at work and only being able to watch the second half looks to be paying off once again. Just turned the game on. Have we just been absolutely rank?
I can't watch the half time report because that would mean I need to look at Jim Rosenthal's 'sad face' and listen to his condescending arsebiscuits. If any face does not belong in high definition, it's Jim Rosenthal's.
