Lizzie Armitstead UCI World Road Racing Champion 2015
A big congratulations to Elizabeth Armistead for becoming the 2015 elite women's road racing world champion. A fantastic achievement ... and the manner in which she won towards the end was both brilliant and brave.

She also won the World Cup road racing series for the second year running:

I can't think of a British woman this year who has done better in her sport on the World Stage. So she must be a contender for SPOTY & must be the top woman*.
*Correction another Lizzy - Yarnold is another British woman who has been equally dominant in her sport at world level (skeleton) - over the winter season 2014/2015.

And Peter Sagan wins the men's race. Don't think I've ever seen a peloton of riders that happy to see someone else win.
