Scotland road to World Cup Glory 2015
"Scotland rugby chief Mark Dodson stands by World Cup victory goal"
Mark Dodson, the chief executive of Scottish Rugby, is sticking by his ambition of World Cup glory in 2015.
Dodson outlined a four-year plan in 2012 that involved winning both a Six Nations Grand Slam and the World Cup.
"Of course it's the target or else we wouldn't have stated it in the first place," he told BBC Scotland.
"We realise many have been saying it's an insane target, but we were making a call to people in Scotland to realise that they had to raise their sights."
Scotland are currently bottom of the Six Nations table after disappointing defeats by Ireland and England.

Genius - get the world to look the other way, so we can sneak in and win the lot - I now know why we are a laughing stock in world rugby - it is part of a 15 year plan to win in 2015.
This is so worth it

Pure fantasy fiction from Dodson.
I have no issues with targets, they focus organisations on the end-product, which can surprisingly be overlooked more frequently than you could think possible.
But now is really not the time to be talking about winning the World Cup. Most of us would settle for a Scottish try between now and the end of the tournament. I'd frankly settle for a team selection that doesn't make me feel like killing myself.
Anyway, talking about targets and Scott Johnson in the same sentence is asking for trouble.

Well a well know objective setting is SMART
S- Specific - Yes it is specific, so big balls to him
M- Measurable - Yes it is measurable (When we fail we can measure the depth of our failure), so big balls to him
A- Achievable - NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO - arrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh....
R- Realistic - NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO - -arrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh
T- Timed - Yes it is linked to a set time - well done
SMART - something no-one has said about the SRU for 15 years

I don't see why we have so many threads really. Why not just a big thread for each nation and discuss everything there is to discuss for one nation within that one thread. Won't be overwhelming or confusing at all..

I actually does get confusing...well for some of us. Afterall, one single thread pushes a certain topic and so other aspects of the subject matter (Scottish rugby for example) can get pushed out due to lack of space between the posts. Things get disjointed for people who want to discuss certain specifics - whether that's teams that should be picked, coaching standards, lineouts, gameplans, scrums... the state of the game as a whole in your country.... lynching the Management etc, etc
I prefer dedicated threads rather than one big one.

Oh!?
Well I'm getting so used to seeing seven or eight threads merged that I was beginning to think that it must be the popular thing to do amongst posters. Apologies...
