If it was Vitali I'd pick him by stoppage...
However not sure If someone is gunshy whether there is a lot you can do about it....
If he lets his hands go and takes a risk....Wlad..
50/50 this time.

Joshua to get the shot instead? Haye has pulled out more times than a pornstar, hasn't got a prayer of getting a shot for 2-3 more fights.
Would prefer to see Joshua get a shot as him vs Fury is a much better sounding fight than Haye running and prancing like a fairy.

Losing to Fury will hopefully put a bit of fire in his belly and he'll be a bit more active...
Interestingly both are 10/11 with the bookies..

Like most, I won't get too excited about Joshua as a genuine HW hope until I've seen him take a decent punch. Whilst I don't give Whyte much of a chance on the 12th, I'm at least hoping he manages to test AJ's whiskers. Am hoping Joshua's got the chin to go with the offensive ability but we've been here so many times before.

Wlad will come back knowing Fury lacks the power & will go all out attack. It's retirement, if he doesn't. Fury ain't that great, pressure would be more on him now.

Nowt so certain Klitschko will try and pull all the stops out to get the fight in Germany, the 2 Kbrothers are renowned for liking things their way.
Hope Fury as champ stands he's ground, the fight takes place in Britain or not at all.

How did he not work it out for the first 11.5 rounds and why did it not make a difference in the last 0.5?
Knowledge isn't the answer. It was Fury's style and dimension he struggled with.

Re: Klitschko activates rematch clause
Fury's game plan was movement it didn't allow Wlad to get into his usual rhythm and it worked a treat, had Fury stood in front of Wlad like most do, Fury would have played right into his hands.

Re: Klitschko activates rematch clause
Klitschko sounds confident:
"I want all of the UK, the whole world...
...to see me destroy this man
after two short rounds.
After this fight he's gonna have to donate
what's left of his body to science.
I took the first fight too lightly
and this man was just plain lucky.
But this time - this time -
you all will see the real Wladimir Klitschko.
The world's gonna see
the real Wladimir Klitschko.
In front of this man's home crowd.
I'm gonna drop him like a bad habit."

Re: Klitschko activates rematch clause
Knew the Klitschkos would take this, you could see their pride was severely dented, it was lovely to watch, never liked their smugness or control freakery. No chance Wlad will reverse the loss, he looked clueless and painfully slow. Lumbering some would say. Lucky boy, ruled the weakest era in the history of gloved fighting. They knew it too.
And as someone said, Fury could do more in five fights than Wlad did in eleven years.
Became famous and accumulated great wealth too. So he's got six more months, hope he enjoys it coz then he has to come down from his ego trip, time to go back to being boring, ordinary old Wlad.

Re: Klitschko activates rematch clause
Hard to say how the rematch will go down.
I have a feeling Wlad will quit on his stool and not see 12 rounds.
I also predict a few more punches to land and plenty of awful hugging.
The first fight was far from a classic and this will most certainly not be either. However I am intrigued to see if Fury wasn't lucky and he really does has Wlad's number.

Shah, go and have another vindaloo.
Love the way Klitschko says he's got a present for the fans- a rematch with Fury.
After his performance on Saturday and his entire boring reign, the only present he could give everyone would be to retire.

Re: Klitschko activates rematch clause
Fury will show you that the first fight was not a fluke
He will be much more confident this time around and I expect him to do a better job, the only person I think who can improve is Fury
If Wlad decides to get brave, he is getting knocked out, its not in his nature.

Re: Klitschko activates rematch clause
Klitchko knew after 5 rounds that he had to take chances but he didn't. What we actually saw was Klitchko do what Haye did - accept that he couldn't get it done by out-boxing him and just have a bit of a go in the 12th (Haye barely did that).
It'd be madness to think that Klitchko will come out all guns blazing. He'll have to take a few more chances with the right hand but that still wouldn't be reckless it would just be a bit more aggressive. If Fury can come out strongly in the first 3 rounds and put a bit of a dent in Klitchko then he'll go into his shell again and cruise to another loss.

That's terrible Herman calling Klitschko boring, couldn't sleep last night, got up put a Klitschko fight on, I was out like a light within 10 minutes, sorry I digress what was that you were saying about Klitschko being boring.Herman Jaeger wrote:Shah, go and have another vindaloo.

Re: Klitschko activates rematch clause
Whatever happens lets hope it's a better fight than the last one. The only interesting thing about the entire first fight was Klitschko raising his hands at the final bell, and again when the score card results were read out. For someone who's supposed to be intelligent, he didn't half suck at maths, if he thought he was going to win that.

Re: Klitschko activates rematch clause
I don't get it, I know with reflection it wasn't a great fight but thought the atmosphere for it and the expectation made it absolutely fantastic. I'm not a Fury fan by any means (He gets on my nerves a lot) but was willing him to have done enough in the end.
Don't think you need a barnstormer every time to make a fight

You're right... It was a complete stinker but the fact a no hoper had a chance of becoming champion made it exciting...
Unfortunately that particular plot has gone forever.

Re: Klitschko activates rematch clause
Say whst you like about Wlad, but the fact that he has had for a decade a near monolithic support base in the continental Europe boxing fraternity mean he's never had to do anything different, whether to win, or to become a draw. Hes got money which anyone not named Pacquiao or Mayweather will struggle to match. And he's drawing power in Germany is a level above anything anyonw else has had for a generation.

And it'll all be pretty meaningless if he can't beat Fury in a rematch....

Re: Klitschko activates rematch clause
Wlad's manner of defeat was the problem..
He was scared of getting hit !!.
Played into the Bully boy image....He doesn't like it up him..
His final standing will be affected more by the manner of defeat than the defeat itself..
