Seriously, Rob Kearney with all of that experience throws the offload away to a French player. He hasn't done anything of note in this game.

Ireland forcing offloads- why?
Just kick the corners, let them run from deep against our organised defence, and they'll give us knock ons and penalties in their territory.

Apparently the pitch has been recently replaced and is now semi synthetic.

Re: 6 Nations 2016: France v Ireland 13th February
Honestly I have to say that Ireland aren't even playing to the strengths of the team selected. I expected a lot more from them. I thought the French back three would be targeted a lot more under the high ball. There is one of the first and it nearly pays off.

What happens if you do headbutt the ball between the posts?

Yeah, they did it twice in the first 5 minutes and we nearly scored off. That could have gone anywhere. Last 25 minutes we should kick a lot more.

Assuming it doesn't hit your hands and you can ground it, its not technically a knock-on

Is it 3 points if it goes between the posts though? Or does it have to hit the ground first to count as a DG attempt?

Schmidtatron will be furious about all the attempted offloads not going to hand. Out robotic coach doesn't like such expressive play. The players don't have the confidence to do it because of the coach. Declan Kidney by comparison preferred heads up rugby

Five Englishmen in an Audi Quattro arrive at the Italian border.
The Italian Customs agent stops them and says, "It's illegal to put 5 people in a Quattro."
"What do you mean it's illegal?" asks the driver.
"Quattro means four," replies the Italian official.
"Quattro is just the name of the car" says the driver disbelievingly "this car is designed to carry 5 persons."
The Italian customs agent continues "Quattro means four. You have five people in your car and you are therefore breaking the law."
"Look you idiot! Call your supervisor over - this is ridiculous"
"Sorry" says the Italian official "he can't come right now, he's busy with 2 guys in a Fiat Uno".

France have definitely been the more entertaining team, they just can hold onto or pass the ball

I really needed a pick me-up after that Ulster game last night. Safe to say this really isn't what I had in mind.

In a game full of poor performances you pick out Leinster players, not surprising.

I think he is choosing them based on the players they got ahead of.

Because they're the ones who weren't in the squad last week...I think

3 penalties in a row has to surely be a penalty try or a yellow card when they are 5 metres out in-front of the posts.

This is exactly what cost us the win against Wales- defending a 5m scrum.

No, I am basing that on the fact that they weren't in the squad last week and the fact that I felt there were better options. Earlier I even said that Heaslip was playing a great game so stop trying to find Leinster hatred in every post I make, you're becoming increasingly boring.
Damn, France scored.

Can't feel sorry for Ireland despite their dominance most of the game. This is what happens when you can't attack with purpose. Tries ultimately win games...even ugly attritional ones like this. France have at least looked adventurous

One of the reasons why I am fuming that Jackson is not in the squad, he would bring more composure.

Madigan has just given France territory and possession from the restart for nothing. Being a better 12 doesn't justify this.
Of course, Paddy did some things as bad last night.

When you are playing against a team which is completely sh!t and you lose to them the despite the fact they were playing sh!t, that means you have played really, really sh!t.
