He got what he deserved frankly. Goes under the radar how much of a **** Vardy is tbh.

Its tone isnt it. If you are abusing a person rather than saying "oh f*** off" about a decision its different

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
It's still abusing the ref though regardless of tone which is the rule.
The rule is abusive, offensive & insulting language. f**k off could come off under all 3. Sure it's frustration over a decision but wouldn't Vardy's be frustration aswell then he thinks he's been clipped and is frustrated at the ref accusing him of cheating essentially.
If Vardy gets an extra game, Andy Carroll should get one for effectively calling the ref a cheat in his interview by saying he tried to "even up the game" He's questioned the ref being impartial like managers do who get touchline bans for that kind of thing.

Vardy is getting exactly what he deserves and Carroll only said what the rest of us were thinking.

Not really, because it is at the ref's discretion as to which is abuse and which isnt. Swearing isnt abuse.

Hoping Leicester get this wrapped up before the last game. Wouldn't mind a Spurs team, full of players selected for the Euro's, coming to St. James' on the last day of the season, with nothing to play for, other than making sure they don't get injured. A scenario like that, could be the difference between survival & relegation.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Calling the ref an f-ing c, which I've seen John Terry do more times than I've had hot dinners, is abuse. If every footballer received a one-match ban for abusing the ref last night's game would have been Delle Alli running round on an empty pitch. It's a disgrace that the FA have cited Vardy and not the countless, endless arrisholes who surround refs up and down the country every single weekend, shouting obscenities.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:Not really, because it is at the ref's discretion as to which is abuse and which isnt. How will Vardy feel about playing for England if the FA ban him for two games and it costs Leicester the title? I wouldn't blame him for refusing to play.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Carroll is such a kumquat. He should have been sent off against Arsenal before he scored his first goal, and he has the temerity to question refereeing decisions? It's bad refereeing that gave West Ham that point, same as it was against Leicester. The penalty against Morgan should never have been a penalty; the foul on Morgan with 5mins left should have been, Vardy should never have received the first yellow card, and the penalty against Carroll was a penalty. He barged into a player in the box, typical strikers challenge. What was great was seeing the replay - Carroll barges him down, smirks, then turns round to see the ref pointing to the spot. Kumquat.Hammersmith harrier wrote:Vardy is getting exactly what he deserves and Carroll only said what the rest of us were thinking.
Love Roy for saying what everyone is thinking about Carroll playing for England too. I'd rather see Peter Crouch in an England shirt.

If your boss put you on disciplinary, for a transgression not punished against any other employee clearly guilty of the same thing, and that costs you a 5% pay increase, and THEN they ask you to work overtime...would you not be furious at your treatment?GSC wrote:He'd be cutting off his nose to spite his face. Id be mildly irritated it was just me, but all the same, I still committed the transgression.
If Vardy walks off the pitch without calling the ref a **** to his face, he gets no extra ban. Doesn't seem like a big ask.

He blatantly tried to cheat, it was a terrible dive and he was already on a yellow, only himself to blame.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
I think the romance of LCFC winning the league is clouding a lot of peoples judgement, regardless of whether the first was a yellow card or not, he dived knowing he was on a yellow card, and then reacted like the mindless chav he has shown himself to be over the last few years.
Dont get me wrong i want LCFC to win the league as much as anyone, but they are as accountable to the FA as anyone else, regarless of the fairytale story.
The only downside is that this kind of thing is not punished more often!

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
I think you're missing the actual way he says the things Nando. It's not just what he says, it's how he says it that he's getting an extra charge. It was extremely aggressive and in the referee's face, accompanied by pointing etc. That's a huge difference than a player at a distance shouting "Of F off" at a decision. It's more appropriate to dish out extra punishment for Vardy than the latter. You don't have to punish everything because swearing is not entirely what he's being charged for. There is a clear distinction.

Carroll - mistimed tackle against Arsenal. Of course this was after we'd had a goal chalked off incorrectly for offside but don't let bitterness guide you. Mention the Ozil offside or Gabriel purposefully digging studs into Carroll as he ran through, ball nowhere in the challenge at all?
You know why people want Carroll for England? Cos ten minutes at the end terrifying defenders like he did against Arsenal is an option no other striker gives us.

There is no defence at the Euros as bad as Arsenal's. We could put together a 606v2 team and make Gabriel ship himself.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:Carroll - mistimed tackle against Arsenal. What bitterness? Carroll is a dirty player, who thinks he's above reproach. The England manager has already called him out as not good enough for the squad, and now the FA are sizing him up for bringing the game into disrepute. He's all class.
And why would you put Carroll on for 10mins if we need a goal? Surely a proven goal scorer like Vardy or Sturridge, or even Rooney if he's not a starter, would be better than a 'striker' with a career average of a goal every 328 minutes.

He's scored nearly double the amount Carroll has this season, on a far inferior side. Good shout.

He does, but we have Rooney, Vardy, Kane, Welbeck, and Sturridge. As well as Sterling.

His something different is only in vogue because it worked against an Arsenal side in freefall.
He was awful against United, stunted West Hams attack completely.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
We aint gonna be up against many defences suited to defending against Carroll.
Involved in a goal every 99 minutes of play or something this season. That does include setting up our goal against United. 10 minutes to go, Defoe offers nothing different to anyone else we have on. Desperate balls bumped into the box, I would say Carroll is gonna dominate any defence we play.

I would argue that Carrolls physical style of play will get pulled up against 99% of European refs. British refs allow him to get away with a bit more than he would on the continent.

Mitrovic, Wijnaldum & Shelvey on bench. Stay in game, then unleash them. We need a point minimum.

10 minute spell at the end of a game. Causing havoc in the box. Hes not Fellaini, he is just big and strong. He didnt give anyway many fouls when he scored that insane header in the Euros before

Newcastle | Darlow, Anita, Mbemba, Lascelles, Dummett, Townsend, Tiote, Colback, Sissoko, Perez, Cisse
Bench | Woodman, Saivet, Shelvey, Aarons, Wijnaldum, De Jong, Mitrovic
Man City XI | Hart, Zabaleta, Mangala, Kompany (C), Kolarov, Fernando, Delph, Toure, Navas, De Bruyne, Aguero
Subs | Caballero, Iheanacho, Bony, Fernandinho, Sterling, Otamendi, Demichelis
Random stat of the game - Sergio Aguero averages a goal every 47 mins vs Newcastle.
Newcastle could have issues if pick up some defensive injuries that isn't LB tbh.

My favourite England goal ever.
However I do think he'd end up giving away more fouls. I don't if he's changed much since he was at Liverpool but I also always felt he wasn't anywhere near as effective coming off the bench, he generally performed best when starting and also starting consistently.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Emile Heskey was big and strong, won headers. Also scored more frequently in domestic football than Carroll. One game against a pathetic Arsenal defence and he's suddenly the second coming of Alan Shearer...
If England need a goal 10mins from time, I want to see Roy bringing on Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge. Goal scorers.
All this is moot anyway, it's not like Carroll will be fit for the Euros.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Stick Carroll on for the last fifteen minutes of a game we need to win and we'll get nothing. Opposition managers will know what Carroll's about and instruct their players to go to ground at the slightest touch giving the Euro referees the easiest decisions they'll have to make all tournament.
That bullying style of play is suited to the Premier League not the namby pamby "ref he could have fractured my shoelaces with that challenge" style of football we'll have to endure over the Summer

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
He's best off the bench for us. Scored a good few goals off the bench.
He will cause problems for any defence we face. He's intelligent and there isn't a better man to have attacking an aerial ball, especially in the dying embers of a game. We have a few identikit players, but Carroll offers a different approach every defence will hate.
