Re: Progress
Never been before but they have a decent group of regulars including Jimmy Havoc, Will Ospreay and Joe Coffey. All depends on whos on the card and how the crowd are. I've been to ICW shows missing a few of the big names but the crowd can make or break an evening at the wrestling.

Re: Progress
I'm willing to bet after you been to the show, you'll have a much better appreciation of Independent Wrestling instead of trying to belittle it at every opportunity you get.
From what I've seen / read, it's almost identical to a football environment with the atmosphere compared to what ECW used to produce.
Here's what I've found on the card... https://www.facebook.com/events/1014608048590986/
There's a TLC Match and there's the likes of Marty Scurll, Will Ospreay and Zack Sabre JR on the card

People been before? Is it any good?
Or is it a bunch of nobody's looking like idiots?
I'm incredibly jealous. I would be going if it wasn't for pre arranged Easter Sunday plans with family.
A 9 man Thunderbastard match for the PROGRESS Championship and a TLC Match between the London Riots and the Sumerian Death Squad.
I'm going to the 2 day event at the end of May, a 16 man tournament.
You'll love it although you may fall foul of the main rule.

I am quietly excited, but I'm just expecting it to be terrible.

ICW is a great night. Davey Blaze wrestled with his dick out in Belfast, so thats the kind of thing they bring.
Matches are decent and theres a good bit of crowd interaction. If Joe Hendry is wrestling expect a brilliant entrance video.

Wow - that certainly beats Eli Drake (sorry...EEE LIII DRAKE) wrestling with his ass out on TNA.
Also interesting that you seem to think that should be a main selling point.
Anyway, back on topic (sort of), I always wondered what happened to Marty Scurll...

Well that was absolutely amazing.
Better than anything I've ever watched in WWE.
Only 23 quid, second row, had my chair stolen and used as a weapon. My coat thrown back in my face, incredible.

By the sounds of things the UK lads have been killing it in Dallas, Ospreay in particular has had rave reviews for his matches with Sabre Jr, Ricochet (which I must see!) and Scurll

Re: Progress
Well that was a hell of a show. For all the wrestlers there and in the pub afterwards I was most excited meeting Scroobius Pip before the show and getting a photo!
Jim Smallman announced there will be a women's tournament to crown a new women's champion.
Mark Haskins came out to put himself in next month's SSS16 to a big pop.
Atlas tournament match Michael Dante v Damo O'Connor
Pick your opponents partner Pollyanna and ??? v Dahlia Black and ???
Awesome show.

Atlas tournament match Michael Dante v Damo O'Connor
- Spoiler:
- Dante wins a brutal war with a spear
- Spoiler:
- ZSJ wins a very good technical match after a great showing from Flash. Flash legit suffered a dislocated shoulder and submitted to a sickening ZSJ submission. Everyone knew ZSJ was winning which took the shine off the match.
- Spoiler:
- First time seeing these two, Gallagher is what the Vaudevillains could aspire to become with his gimmick. Pete Dunne avoided "top knot w*nker" chants due to Jim Smallman's requests for the fans to not swear during the Global Cruiserweight matches. Gallagher made Dunne tap.
- Spoiler:
- Was a very good match between two ProJo graduates, the winner got a big trophy and a guaranteed Money in the Bank style title shot. The Pastor won by pinfall which was the right decision.
Pick your opponents partner Pollyanna and ??? v Dahlia Black and ???
- Spoiler:
- Dahlia picked Pollyanna's partner to be her nemesis Jinny. Pollyanna picked Dahlia's partner to be Jinny's poorly treated assistant Elizabeth. Elizabeth turned face hitting Jinny with a Backstabber to get the pin. A brawl ensued post match between the four women.
- Spoiler:
- An all out war, first time seeing Coffey and very impressed. Rampage chopped the hell out of Coffeys chest turning it bright red. Match ended in a 15 minute time limit draw which led to some mutual respect between the two.
- Spoiler:
- Origin attacked Eddie Dennis and one of the Riots pre match, making it a 4 on 2 match. Eventually the two "injured" faces returned to the match and the Riots got the pinfall making them number one contenders to Cruz and Ligero's tag team titles.
- Spoiler:
- Very good match which went back and forth, End looked like he might win when the lights went out, when they came back on, Mikey Whiplash was in the ring with a chair! Whiplash hit Scurll with the chair to cause the DQ which led to a Whiplash/End brawl. End then demanded a place in SSS16 next month (which Whiplash is already in) to earn his rematch for the title.
Awesome show.

SSS16 is shaping up nicely.
Confirmed in the 16 man tournament so far;
Sami Callihan, Mikey Whiplash, Mark Haskins, Tommy End, Pete Dunne and Rampage Brown.
And Day 1 has a Main Event to go with the 8 first round matches...
The Origin v London Riots for the Progress Tag Team Championship!

Got my hopes set on an End/Haskins final that'd be amazing, they must have broke the SDS up for a reason so I can see them forging ahead with the End push and maybe even have him dethrone Party Marty

I'd tend to agree, I think End beating Scurll non title at Chapter 28 then the dodgy finish to the title match at Chapter 29 paves the way for him to win SSS16 and get his rematch, maybe at Brixton in September.

I'm amazed they've held off on Jimmy this long but I don't think the SSS16 is the place to bring him back, the guy has so much story and mythos built into him in Progress, to bring him back just to wrestle in a tournament with no build would be a waste

Jimmy Havoc was in the pub with everyone after Chapter 29, still using crutches so he won't be back for a while.
Dave Mastiff was the 8th entrant, looking immense so far but expect more Progress wrestlers with another couple of shocks (I've heard Johnny Gargano)
