Weekends Action and Predictions
Hi Guys,
Some good fights on this week.
Nick Blackwell Vs Chris Eubank Jr - Blackwell is coming in on a good run and has clearly improved recently now holding a good win over John Ryder when he won the British Title. Eubank is generally good to watch and isn't afraid to mix it up even when its to his detriment.
Kell Brook Vs Kevin Bizier - Well, I think we know whats happening here.
Luke Campbell Vs Gary Sykes - Good opponent for Campbell, someone who will come to win and provide something of a test even if Sykes is perhaps a little too small.
Andre Ward Vs Sullivan Barrera - Ward trying to claim the Light Heavyweight title, this is his first real step towards it, Barrera is genuinely no joke, has a good amateur career and seems very big and very strong at 175, if a little slow.
Jose Pedraza Vs Stephen Smith - Big shot this for Smith in a fight thats gone way under the radar, but could turn out entertaining.
What you guys think of the fights, whats your predictions?
My predictions are here if you'd like to see along with my betting tip of the weekend.

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
Eubank vs Blackwell is the big one for me as I think it'll be a good competitive fight but feel eubank is just a little too good for Blackwell altough he'll have to earn the win
I'm not going to watch ward he's so dull and battera ngl don't know him but sounds like he's got some pedigree but not enough for me to stay up for
Kell is in a mismatch
Campbell should win and let's be honest he NEEDS to win because he isn't young and if he can't beat Sykes then what's the point really

Blackwell is a tough cookie but Eubank is caving his face in. It needs to be stopped.

Goddamn. I wish I'd stumped up the cash and gone there alone. Was saving up to go with friends and they couldn't make it. Gutted.
Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
That was an absolute ducking travesty. Can someone expel the IBF?? Bizier got beat by Dan......who got battered by Brook.....How the Frak does Bizier become mandatory??????? People who got tickets should get refunds. That will go down as the biggest mismatch in world championship boxing. If Brook does not fight a top 5 ranked fighter then he is the biggest joke in boxing history.

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
Bit of an overreaction mobile. But I get your point and agree. Poor poor fight
Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
Don't think it's an overreaction mate. If Mayweather, Pacquiao, Bradley, Thurman, Khan were fighting Frankie Gavin, Jo Jo Dan and Bizier in a row....they would be hammered all day. Brook is class. He has talent. He has power. I think he could beat most at 147. He called out Garcia, Thurman, Porter and Bradley...but Pacquiao is past it (agreed).....if he fails to fight any of them now....he is a joke.
He would KO Garcia and I would love to see it.

Channel 5 coverage much better with Dempsey at the helm. Billy Jo quite an entertaining pundit. Here's hoping Blackwell is ok, shame about the injury, deserved to see the final bell. But Eubank marches on.

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
Was hoping Eubank Sr was going to slap whoever was interrupting him post fight. If Jr fights Saunders like he's done in his last two outings then I think he wins a rematch. Brook looked like he's getting to the same stage with Eddie that Hatton did with Warren. Eddie needs to deliver a BIG fight next as his sales patter and avoiding giving a straight answer is getting old

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
Jr needs to stop loading up on everything and improve his accuracy he won't get away with that at world level
Super fight hope Blackwell is OK He needed to try and either avoid or block those uppercuts he got caught way too often

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
The Eubank fight was a real bruiser. Blackwell showed tremendous spirit but absorbed a lot of damage and had to be ambulanced to hospital after collapsing.
Caught the Brook fight on record. Brook looked sharp and impressive but it was hopeless match up. Bizier is closer to a domestic level fighter. Not even Sky were trying to sell that one as anything other than a waste of time.

Blackwell suffered a bleed on the brain it seems. Very worrying.

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
Andre Ward cruises to a very one-sided win and it looks like a fight with Kovalev could be made for November but for me the must see LH clash is RJJ vs Tony Oakey.

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
Full credit to Blackwell for his heart. Currently in an induced coma and hope just precautionary.
Eubank Jr did what he needed to do BUT still think he's euro level at best at present. He may have looked good at times but was only against a domestic level opponent. I can see him having moments against the top guys but can't see him beating them.
Brook/Bizier fight was the anticipated farce everyone expected. He'll probably wait for the Khan/Canelo fight, then call out Khan, Khan doesn't fight him. Brook will moan that Khan won't fight and use that as excuse to fight someone like Mike Alvarado!
Ward with a routine warm up win for the showdown with Kovalev. That will be a BIG fight and will finally put Ward on a map to the more casual fans.

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
Ward looked great his head movement won him the day where he was able to slip and roll punches barerra couldn't catch him clean often enough
That was a great win as barerra is no chump
Hope he fights again before kovalev
Best wishes to Blackwell hope he makes a full recovery

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
Don't think it was a good opponent if I'm honest BoxingFan. Very foregone conclusion for me. Smith, Barerra, Rodriguez. Poor poor poor level of opposition given Wards supposed boxing ability and talent. He needs to move on and fight Kovalev now or another Light Heavy that's ranked highly. Would have liked Fonfara.

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
Where was Barerra ranked? During the commentary it was mentioned he turned down Kovalev for Ward because it was more money.

Re: Weekends Action and Predictions
I thought barerra was credible
Would have beaten everyone on wards resume
Ward is just that good and that slick

Apart from Froch, Kessler and possibly even Rodriguez.

Can't wait for Kov to batter Ward and burst this little bubble.

The bubble that Ward is and will still be a fabulous boxer if he wins or loses against Kovalev?

Agreed...Ward losing to Kovalev or vice versa doesn't make either guy a bad fighter. Just a shame this fight will get nowhere near the media attention it deserves

That was a nice win there, thought the fights were pretty easy this week, the next two weeks I'm looking to make some decent money as the fights are mouthwatering especially April 9th...

More that he's the second coming of Ali in some people's eyes.
If he gets stopped after taking a pasting I don't think his stock remains all that high personally.

I think you're getting him mixed up with Tyson Fury after he beat Wlad
