Premier League results week 5
Chesham United 1 - 2 Macc Town
(Dybala) (Pogba, Eriksen)
On paper I'd expect Macc to have the better of this. Chesham have gone out with a defensive mindset, and with an effective back 5 it will really squeeze the space for Hero's speedy wings and Lukaku. Having said that, this will likely give Pogba and Eriksen some space to have the odd shot at goal, and this is where I'd expect them to nick a goal or two. Nando's side has plenty going forward though, and I can't see Macc holding out for 90 mins against strikers of that quality, and plenty of playmaking in behind them
In the end, I'd fancy Hero's midfield to be able to control the game late on and close out a well earned win.
The loss of Saul to injury probably cost Nando a draw
MK Dons 0 - 1 Man Utd
(Ibrahimovic)
2 very well matched sides. Both have ridiculously strong midfields, and their biggest weaknesses defensively are the full backs.
Dons have an excellent trio of passers in the midfield, but I wonder if their roles are a bit confused, as none of them are natural holding midfielders in my eyes. Going forward, they've got good players, but Viva's centre backs are very strong, and protected excellently. I'm not sure that Dons have the wide players capable of taking advantage of that relative weakness.
Viva has the opposite with 3 superb DMs, but I think they may lack a bit of punch in getting the ball forward, and Ibra may be starved of service. Utd's big success will be if Robben can get isolated against either MK full back, he could really dominate there.
Really difficult game to call, can see the midfields cancelling each other out, and the game just being a midfield battle. I'd expect it to be very tight up until the subs come on, then fancy Robben/Ben Arfa out wide to just be too much for the Dons defence, and Ibra to nick a winner

- Chesham tactics:
- Injuries - Paloschi,Lanzini, Saul Niguez
----------------------Cech
--------Dragovic -- Tasci -- Abdennour
Bellerin ------Castro -- Aranguiz ----Hector
--------------------Kampl
--------------Dybala -----Martial
Subs: Alisson,Hernandez,Gamez,Daniels,Younes,Orellana,Meier
Team Talk: Up against Macclesfield U16's today. We're going to play on the break so sit deep then everyone bomb forwards against them and wreck them with our defense tanks outnumbering Lukaku
(Words: 100)
Back 3 to keep an eye and outnumber Lukaku, Whilst watching for wingers coming inside.
Full backs to force wingers inside not down line. When got ball bomb forwards and whip balls in
Castro to go box to box and create and break attacks up
Aranguiz to marshall infront of defense and move the ball up the pitch quickly
Kampl to sit on Pogba and force to do defensive work, Otherwise drift off him and create chances
Dybala to drop off the forward, drag him out of position, Shoot at will
Martial to use his pace to gallop in behind
Subs: Meier for Tasci if losing - Go 4-3-3 with Kampl & Martial out wide & Meier behind Dybala
- Macc Town tactics:
- ------------------------Donnarumma----------------------------
Hysaj---------Koulibaly--------Kimmich------------Duarte
---------------------Weigl-----Pogba-----------------------
Coman-------------------Eriksen-------------------Iwobi
--------------------------Lukaku-----------------------------
Subs:, Samper, Coric, Gabigol, Neves, Fekir, Janssen
With the added steel to our spine recently we’re changing to 4-2-3-1 to have more control of the game in midfield due to their injuries whilst still having speed on the flanks to expose their attack minded fullbacks. With their strike force being our old players we’re well aware of their game, have Kimmich tracking Dybala in dangerous areas & Koulibaly picking up Martial if he’s got 2 up front.
Weigl to sit in front of the defence allowing Pogba to get forward when opportunity allows. Get the height of Koulibaly, Pogba and Lukaku in the box for set pieces.
Subs: If losing – Fekir for Iwobi, stick Eriksen on the left and go 2 up front.

- MK Dons tactics:
- Injuries: Ansaldi, Aduriz, Draxler.
------------------Zoet--------------------
---Vrsaljko---Matip-Rudiger---Manquillo
-------Herrera--Verratti--Thiago--------
Narsingh------Batshuayi-------------Elia
Subs: Weidenfeller, Djourou, Palmer, Ziyech.
Defensively
-Stay as a solid back 4, full backs to cover centre backs.
-Matip and Rudiger to crowd out main striker if they play one up top, mark him out of the game.
-Herrera to put a shift in defensively, constantly cutting out key passes with Verratti getting at them putting pressure on them.
Attacking
-Full backs to stay back due to Manquillo playing out of position.
-Verratti to pull strings as the DLP, spraying passes to Batsyuayi.
-Elia and Narsingh to push onto full backs pressuring them.
-Batshuayi to make plenty of movement.
- Man Utd tactics:
- MK Dons vs Man Utd
Formation: 4-4-2 (Diamond)
Valdes
Aurier Laporte Koscielny Evra
Alonso
Kante Motta
Meyer
Robben Ibrahimovic
Subs
Terry
Maxwell
Ben Arfa
Brandt
Kalou
Toni
Injuries
Iker Casillas
Jamie Vardy
Guillermo Varela
Tactics
Away against MK, we're going to play a counter attack system, flood the midfield to combat the flow of Thiago and Verratti and get physical with them two.
FB show wingers the outside forcing them to cross, I feel my CB will be able to deal with them. Going forward hug the touchline and get crosses in for Ibra.
Midfield to minimise passing angles, Alonso get the ball quickly to our attackers to hit on break.
Robben drift to the left or make runs behind, Ibrahimovic hold the ball up and play within 18 yard box. Meyer join in attacks.
Sub 70 min if losing
Motta off Ben Arfa on (We play 4-3-3 with Robben and Ben Arfa wide)
Sub 75 min if winning
Robben off Brandt on (Fresh legs to hurt them with pace)

Yep cheers Bam, both surprised and relieved with that result against Nando who I think has a very strong side.

4-2-3-1 is the only way to get results in these leagues, you must know that by now.Fernando wrote:Literally nothing surprised me about that result soon as saw the words defensive and back 5.
