Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
Apparently these huge fights Hearn has in mind are...
A soon to be battered off Manny and already shop worn "Tim Bradley".......We all know Brook beats Bradley now let alone after he's trashed by Manny again........How can you have a huge fight with someone who is a big underdog in an upcoming fight ???????
Garcia ??...........Come on the guy was an over achiever at 140......How is he going to hurt Brook at 147 ?? and if he can't hurt him he sure as hell won't outbox him....One sided shellacking !!
Stop taking the P**s Eddie......Fans aren't stupid..............
But then again they are aren't they.... as Clev v Bellew 2 showed....

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
I think Tim Bradley is a good fight (depending on how he fares against Pacquiao).
Garcia doesn't appeal to me but I'd heard Jesse Vargas somewhere and so Garcia would be an upgrade on that.
I liked the Cotto rumours from last week (but then, why would Cotto fight Brook?).

Well when his last fights have been against jo jo dan, frankie gavin and kevin bizier its very easy to sell the likes of bradley and garcia, doesnt matter what level theyre at right now.
I can't take this Brook guy seriously anymore. Every interview I keep hearing him say the words 'big fights' in that horrible, lispy almost feminie Yorkshire voice of his. The guy makes me want to put my own tv through. Wish he would have his money grabber with khan and dissapear sharpish.

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
Not sure why Bradley is such a bad option? Rated WW for years, hardly pumelled by Pacquiao who would have his own way with most other WWs with ease...
Garcia would be a cracker.
BUT, the fight I want him to get is Thurman.
Needs a top 10 rated WW opponent next though. Quite why he hasn't got one in his last couple of fights is a bit of a mystery.

The best bit about all this is when Kell Brooks next fight is actually announced we will be wishing it would have been somebody like Bradley or Garcia. I've absolutely no doubt that Brooks next fight will be against another nobody or maybe a has been just so theres a name on paper for the casuals

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
Sorry but if Bradley and Garcia are poor opponents who exactly can Brook fight that is going to be a credible one?
Bradley while getting a bit long in the tooth has only ever been beating by one of the best fighters of the last 20 years.
Garcia while maybe not the greatest ever is still an undefeated 2 weight world champion who was pretty much as close to being the man at the weight below as anybody has been in a long time.

Bradley is fighting Pac, Khan is fighting Canelo and Thurman is fighting Porter. If Garcia isn't credible as the next best then who is in the WW division?
If he doesn't fight Garcia or Cotto (cant see that happening) though then quite frankly he is pathetic!

They aren't "big" fights....
He's just fought three stiffs.....
Any chance of a 60/40......Going for Bradley before he's had his regular Manny pasting...Streaks of cherry picking..
Garcia over achieved at 140..

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
They are about as big as it gets outside of Pac, Cotto, Khan and Thurman. 3 of which are already tied up leaving only Cotto who can pretty much pick and choose who and when he fights.
Garcia may have over achieved at 140 but doesn't change the fact he found a way to win in fights most expected him to lose against Khan and Matthysse.
So if Bradley and Garcia wouldn't be acceptable and Thurman, Manny and Khan are all tied up who would you have him fight next?

Why not Manny then....Why a guy who is getting stuffed off Manny..
Big fight vs sloppy thirds or a game 140 pounder....Then back to stiff central..

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
Garcia may be undefeated but he got a complete gift against herrera and 'the benefit of the doubt' from the judges against peterson. Still a very creditable opponent for brook... hey he has a pulse... but he seems to get the same judging criteria that gets applied to alvares. If he's in the fight, he gets the nod.
Bradley still a very live opponent, unless he looks totally shot against Manny, which is pure supposition at the moment. As i mentioned on another thread, i'm not sure he's as sharp as he once was so it may be a good time to get him.

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
Bradley is a good fight, especially if he beats Pacquiao, in which case the fight has no chance of happening
However I think Manny will make a statement and really impress, it will still be a good fight for Brook though.
Garcia is also a good fight
Thurman and Porter are tied up
- Erol Spence (Maybe a bit too early)
- Khan (Going to get brutally KOed by Canelo)
- Garcia (Apparently over rated)
- Jessie Vargas (Not bad, had a good win last time out)
Pacquiao is retiring, so I don't really see how Bradley is a bad option?

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
Because he wasn't anywhere near Manny's radar. Obviously just speculation but I'd be pretty confident that if Manny came knocking Brook and Hearn would jump at the chance of the big payday.
Garcia and Bradley are top 5 rated WW pretty much across the board. Personally would be fine and surprised if Kell fought wither next.
Although for the record I wouldn't be surprised to see an Algieri or Peterson type opponent next to try force a Khan fight through a common opponent.

If Algeri beats Spence, that is a great opponent, considering Khan looked horrible against him

Brook after Saturday, said he wanted to fight the big names and unify the titles, its not up to Brook to negotiate the big fights, that's what his management team gets paid to do.
Brook has shot the gauntlet down, and that's all he can do.
If he doesn't get the big fights only one person to blame and it isn't Brook.

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
I'm happy for Brook to fight Bradley or Garcia.....But the ominous words were "Kell is looking for a BIG FIGHT next!!"...
So a one sided slapping of a half dead Bradley and a 140 pound overachiever is probably the precursor to the excuse that he deserves more stiffs like Bizier after..
"Because after all Brook has just had a big fight"...
Beating sloppy thirds or an overachieving 140 pounder isn't my idea of a big fight !!..
But that's just my ever so humble opinion..

1. How is Garcia going to beat Brook at 147.....??
2. McGirt, Taylor would have played with Garcia at 140 and I wouldn't pick any of them to beat Brook at 147..
3. How is the job going ??

Trouble is we have all wrote Garcia off before(myself included) and a bit like BJS he always gets over the winning line, i think its a good fight but its only my opinion mate,
The job is going ok i have broke company records for the amount of sales ive completed however me and my boss don't see eye to eye, so it has its good and bad side

Probably thinks you'll be getting his job soon.....Well done..
I just give my thoughts...All opinions welcome....
Will say that there is a big difference between 140 and 147...Personally think if Garcia brings his skill and power from 140 with him he would be outclassed....
and he won't...
Anyway thanks for the contributions and jolly ho..

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
But they're not though. They only sold half the tickets for the Bizier fight and were giving them away to service personnel on the night. Brook (or perhaps more accurately it should be Eddie) is getting it in the neck from all ends up. His whole demeanour on Saturday was of a man who is very unhappy with the way his career is panning out and it reminds of the time Adam Smith got into Warren's ribs about not being able to secure Hatton a big fight and Frank flipping his lid. Eddie swerved the issue and the interviewer lacked the balls/experience to pull him up on how Brook's career is in danger of going into freefallTRUSSMAN66 wrote:Fighting a big fight against a guy getting beat up soon..

Yes but Eddie is looking for the softest option he can get for a supposed "big fight".....Providing an excuse to milk some more after..
It's like watching Hatton with the WBU belt all over again..
Anyone surprised Joshua is fighting Martin.....In a "50/50" ???...Nope.
He's making Warren look like a risk taker and as Hearn owns british boxing....
He's becoming the Simon Cowell of the industry......
Fair play to him...I'm a hypocrite as I'd do the same....But it ain't good for the fan..

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
To the point where he's almost beyond criticism...if you want to keep your job that is. It annoys me that reporters are scared to call him on the decisions he's making for some of his fighters. One feels that even Paul Dempsey would toe the party line if he went back to SKY. It's OK him giving David Haye the hard word after the De Mori fight (mind you, look what an effect that had on Haye's choice of opponent). ould Ian Darke have the stones to say "to hell with it" and go all Paxman on Eddie's butt (without being so much of a c*nt)TRUSSMAN66 wrote:Yes but Eddie is looking for the softest option he can get for a supposed "big fight".....Providing an excuse to milk some more after..

As with Calzaghe you wonder if we are ever going to find out how good he is.....
Because I think he beats Thurman and Manny...I think he's the best at 147...
Let's not waste his career too...

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
Thurman would be the preffered fight for me, as they are both on the rise in what was once a pretty rich 140 - 147lb division but is fast becoming depleted and/or shopworn. It looks like an excellent contest.
I think Bradley should present a very challenging outing for Brook even if he has been around the block a few times. Not a fight I would like to call with much coviction but I would favour the proven record of Bradley over the flashier potential of Brook I think as it stands now.
Prior to Brook taking on Porter I leaned towards Porter getting the win and while I thought Brooks performance was sufficient to show he should pose a challenge for anyone in the division, I didnt think it was convincing enough to write most of the top contenders off against him (Porter being a solid contender but not a great deal more than that).
I would guess Khan is still what they are holding out for. A credible losing effort from Khan is probably best case scenario for them.

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
I remember when Brook was fighting eliminator after eliminator and I thought he'd never step up. He proved me wrong by beating Porter in his own back yard but has done diddly squat since. His 2 mandatories have been against no-hopers in Dan & Bizier, but the next mandatory will be Spence who does look to be somebody a bit special. I would imagine that Eddie & co would not want Brook to fight him until he absolutely has to, so they'll be looking for the next best thing - a name on the slide. Bradley is a decent name (although not what he once was) and Garcia, despite his unbeaten record, is likely to be there for the taking as he hasn't looked good for some time now. He's already fought Porter, and Thurman's injured (both contracted to fight each other anyway), plus Khan's fighting for the Canelo weight WBC belt. So really, Spence aside, it's just Bradley or Garcia with an outside bet on Vargas in my eyes (they'll be in the US).
He doesn't have much choice really. Shame.

If not somebody like Algieri to try push the Khan fight. I think they will go for Vargas, can't see Eddie wanting him in against Spence and will want another belt so they don't have to take the IBF mandatory if the case arise.

Re: Time to give up on Kell Brook !!
If Eddie doesn't want Spence because he feels it's a risky fight he should shut the f*ck up about how he feels Brook is the best WW in the world. A dangerous opponent is exactly what Brook needs and is also a useful yardstick when it comes to assessing just how good Brook is. he's at his peak and a fight with younger hunger dangerous fighter will show people whether or not Brook is genuinely worth getting behind. Hope he does what Lewis did to Grant.

Yet we're happy for AJ to fight for the HW title in a couple of weeks...surely Spence can only be an improvement over Dan and Bizier. Yes I'm aware there's a danger that it could be another Trinidad/Reid scenario but if people are prepared to take the risk then why not?TRUSSMAN66 wrote:Too early to tell with Spence.....Plenty of fighters look good before they reach show time....

It is frustrating watching Brook recently. He would knock out Amir for sure. But Amir is having a huge fight, while Kell is fighting lower level opponents. Hopefully this stops soon.
After Canelo knocks out Khan, does anybody think Khan will then ask to fight Brook, to boost the retirement fund??

I remember thinking Hearn was great, taking all of Warren' s fighters/power. He is just as bad. No, he is even worse. Some of the ppv cards have been a farce.

Hearn is great for his boxers but not great for fans whilst Warren is a tw*t all round, hardly comparable when the latter is making guys like Burns bankrupt.

Garcia and Bradley are fine as they are each one of the legit champs at the weight. It's the fights he takes against people not even top 15 that are disgraceful.
I'm sure Brook will fight someone lower ranked anyway.
