Unbelievable, Watford score two in extra time to convert an Aston Villa win into an Aston Villa defeat.
Jermaine Defoe demonstrates the importance of having an in form striker - he created the situation to get the penalty, then scores the penalty.
Andros Townsend gets the winner for Newcastle with a bit of skill.

As soon as Cissokho got sent off I didn't think we would win.
Thought we may hold on for a point.
Sums up our season.
If we had lost 4-0 I still would have been annoyed, but would have been no surprise.
To be minutes away from a rare win and fk it up is sickening.

Prototypical Norwich game this - miss a bunch of chances, concede soft goal then get caught on the counter later

Always liked him & a natural finisher. I remember we were after him for around £22m, what's the fee WHU are rumoured to be paying? I'm guessing it's more? Should link up well with Payet

About similar I think, John. Although this'll be a tough summer for business with the increased TV money and everyone but Holland showcasing players at the Euros.
I see this relegation battle as Newcastle looking 4 points clear next weekend. Norwich and Sunderland have to win their midweek catch up games. From there anything could happen on that last day, the next worry for Newcastle is whether Spurs still need points to make sure they finish above Arsenal.

Lacazette would be a big statement of intent if they get him and I'd heard West Ham got Payet to sweeten him up recently, imagine that pairing would be very good indeed.

So how many people actually want Leicester to win today? I mean, it's better than winning it because Spurs lose, but you can't help but eye that home game next Saturday.

Winning it at the Theatre of Dreams will do just nicely. I think both challengers will lose this weekend.
What a story though!

Been doing the same with Batshuayi but I think he wants Champions League. Tottenham seems likely, but he may have to make do with playing in a support role to Kane, either in behind him or on the bench

my wife's family are all Leicester fans.
So I would never hear the end of it if they win, especially with us going down.
I'm up in the East Midlands next weekend, so if they do it then could jump on the bandwagon.
Spurs are a quality side, be good for them to.
Honestly, either way I couldn't care less.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Pressure getting to Leicester players. Two sending offs in three games can't be coincidence. But it is revealing that Leicester do have a good squad of players. Both players that were sent off have been critical to Leicester's season, Vardy and Drinkwater.
It sort of makes the Hollywood movie more compelling. My view is that Leicester failing at the last hurdle and finishing second behind Tottenham would have made for a better movie (focusing on the process rather than the end result), but I know the Americans don't like such endings.
Ps that match, that draw might ultimately see LV Gaal sacked - as it is very unlikely now Man Utd will finish in the top four. Although Man Utd seem to be playing quite well now and they have uncovered some very exciting young players, the damage was done early in their season with some dreadful series of results.

Arsenal need 2 points from 2 games to guarantee CL football.
City are 4 clear of United with 3 games for each with a far superior GD

Realistically speaking, the refs have been right on board with Leicester winning the title.

Yes, more often than not we'll have a player booked or sent off for the exact same thing the opposition do, yet they don't even get pulled up for a foul.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:nathan wrote:Rooney should of got another yellow and been sent offfor pulling back grey.

Case in point in this match, the elbow to huth, Rooney pulling back grey right in front of the ref. Rooney pulling on Andy kings shoulder exactly the same as drinkwater did (which should of been a penalty) but nothing happened. Linnyard took a dive, vardy got a yellow for that and sent off in another game, Huth got his shirt pulled again when Morgan scored.
I understand we have had lucky decisions in the season, like all clubs have. But they seem to be stacking up against Leicester in the run in.

Not sure what complaints you can have about the decisions today, given the referee gave a freekick for a foul in the box.

Yes like that, it should of been a penalty just like the following should of been given.Hammersmith harrier wrote:You mean like fouling players in the penalty area but only seeing a free kick being given.
-penalty for elbowing huth in the head
-penalty for King for Rooney pulling on his shoulder just like drinkwater got sent off for.

-second yellow for Rooney for clearly pulling Grey back

You are joking right?
The Fellaini elbow would be a red card if the referee saw it but he clearly didn't, that is completely different to getting a decision wrong that he does see. Simpson on Lingard was neither a foul nor was it a dive, Vardy however was a clear exaggerated dive.

Fellaini elbowed Huth in your box, after he had pulled his hair so that should have been a pen for United.
Rooney pen shout is non existent. If you want a pen for that then you'd have to accept Simpson being sent off earlier in the game.
Mahrez one was a pen but he did just run straight into rojo rather than try follow the ball.
Can't think ref saw the Rooney incident.
A very one eyed view on the game really.

"Rooney pen shout is non existent" it was identical to the drinkwater incident so you agree he shouldn't of got a yellow and been sent off?Ent wrote:nathan wrote:Yes like that, it should of been a penalty just like the following should of been given.Hammersmith harrier wrote:You mean like fouling players in the penalty area but only seeing a free kick being given.

The was nothing wrong with the Simpson was, it was a dive - just as bad as Vardys
Mahrez didn't run straight into him, he stuck his leg and arm out! Are you a Man U fan?

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
He did run straight into him, rather than in the direction the ball went. Rojo fouled him but I understand why the ref didn't give it.
Lindgard didn't dive, it was a 50/50 tussle - if you want all these calls you have listed going your one eyed way then you have to accept the others going against you too.
Drinkwater pulled him back, don't see your complaints. Rooney thing was a non event.
Vardys dive was absolutely terrible, he jumped in the air and kicked his opponent - one of the worst I've ever seen.

Nathan, Leicester will be fine. I can't see Spurs winning at Chelsea tomorrow especially with Dele Alli being missing. He will also be missing their last two matches. Some hope for Newcastle too who play Spurs last.
Leicester still got very good points at home to West Ham and away to Man Utd. West Ham played well against Leicester and were unlucky with the shot that hit both posts. It is also worth remembering Spurs lost their match with West Ham.
