Hello fellow parents of young children

Gomez looking the business today, but perhaps a little gun shy? His clean hitting is exceptional.

Herrera looked like an old guy in there, but fair play to Gomez he really beat on a fighter who never gets beat on

Lemieux vs Tapia now, you'd think when Lemieux starts to land Tapia will get into a war and just can't match Lemieuxs firepower

Tapia was a bit quiet in the first and seems to be handling being hit well. But Lemiuex landing some clean some not so clean but making inroads. Got clapped there but not losing his nut Tapia. Ooh. Lemiuex starting to land beautiful shots to body and head. Tapia looking uncomfortable and not really giving anything back.

He's not doing poorly Tapia, he's taking the shots well and is still throwing and landing, but the power difference is so noticeable and Lemieux looks like he's softening Tapia up, shook hin a couple times now

Lemieux's shots look crisper and harder but Tapia still looking fairly non-plussed about getting hit. Maybe a bit too casual.

Agreed Herrera looked a little old but when gomez stopped moving Herrera gave him enough to show he's still got something. So I think this is more about Gomez being very good and herreras age just being a smaller factor.

Lemiuex is pretty relentless and is breaking through the guard quite frequently. And shaking Tapia a couple times but nothing more. He's getting his punches off early and tapia isn't using his jab enough. A little bit in his shell. 3-0 Lemiuex

Tapia devastated but let's be honest he was only gonna get hurt

He's a brave man tapia and didn't look too hurt but his punches weren't troubling Lemieux at all

He got really badly hurt against Kirkland when it wasn't ended early and think in retrospect he should see he was never gonna win that fight and was never gonna make the distance

Alvarez looks like he's put on a stone and a half since yesterday. Dunno if it's just my eyes but he looks jowelly if you know what I mean. Still if khan makes it past 4 I'll be surprised.

Gorgeous right hand from khan Canelo winging it. Alvarez caught him with a snappy left but not hurting him. Khan moving well. Khan landing a few jabs and right hands and Co but canelo just taking stock of khan. Round 1 to Khan

Canelo loading up and khan picking punches well between them. Canelo tried to draw and counter but khan dodged it jab again and canelo only landing right at the far end of his punches so even when he lands it's not with any force. Rest is too wild. KHan is two up with jabs and straight rights. Limiting his punches. He isn't moving as much as usual which might help him avoid his usual tiredness issues

Few combos from khan Canelo caught between foot movements. Not using his jab enough. Khan again with a combo and canelo still trying to level him with singles or doubles. Not really chasing him effectively. Another triple combo from khan he's got a little pop in his punches but nothing to wrote home about. Khan 3 up but Canelo is at fault as much as Khan's excellent performance so far.

Canelo same thing again and again get combo'd and not using his jab often enough and is missing and overreaching couple of gorgeous right hands from khan. Again canelo has stopped throwing his jab properly and khan is dropping his combos in. Did manage to land a nasty looking Bodyshot though Probably the clearest khan round 4 -0

Canelo again loading up but getting closer to Khan now picking his punches better. Canelo ahead in this round. Feck Khan is cut. Canelo getting closer and closer khan still with beautiful combos from a distance but this is canelo. 4-1

Everytime canelo finds his range he starts loading up and loses the advantage his position has given him. Ooh Bodyshot followed by a left to khan's chin. Canelo growing into the fight.

Can't believe he's standing lol! What a peach of shot...now let's see Canelo...heck all the other so called champions out there step up and put it all on the line. Many a boxers could learn a thing or two from Khan...stupid to some..brave to others but ultimately a man who will step in the ring with anyone..full props for that!

Khan and Virgil Hunter nice speech at the end - trying to shift the tone of boxing - of people avoiding the obvious fights, taking the money but frustrating the boxing fans.  Alvarez avoiding GGG, Mayweather avoiding Pacquiao for so long.

Khan may have to consider retirement. You can't take too many knockouts. Your brain can't take too many knockouts. Probably one more knockout and he may reach his limit.

God just watched it again. Boom. Not a bad nights boxing. Thought khan might pull it off but Canelo cut down his wild man act at thr beginning then found his range and levelled Khan with a beaut. Anyway boys it's been a pleasure I shall see you all tommorow to pick apart the card. Goodnight.

I don't see how Khan can get caught so cleanly like that so often, the punch came from so far back and Khan was stood still. Hunter should be training it into Khan that if he sees that right shoulder twitch even slightly, Khan should be away, gone. Switches off too often.

I think Amir needs to call it a day. Perhaps one more homecoming fight against a light puncher, to leave on a good note.

It is not good for the brain to continue getting knocked out. His chin will only get even worse. Brook, Thurman, Garcia etc, would all ko him. He's finished.

Good fighter and usually in exciting fights. He might go down as a British Great, depends on the criteria, but he is far from a great fighter.

Granted he has some great attributes, but too many flaws.

Good luck to him, hope he retires.

I think he earned something like $6 million dollars in this fight so he should have enough to retire Smile.  It's really a question of whether he has any other ambitions outside of the boxing ring to occupy his mind.  Personally he has done well in the sport of boxing - reaching the giddy top level of the sport and making himself into a recognisable global name (hence brand).  He reached his limit - which was having a weak chin.

ps the fact that he took this fight on (which on paper looked suicidal), suggests he has difficulty motivating himself for bread and butter fights. He hung around trying to get a fight with Mayweather - but for some reason Mayweather avoided him.
