First topic message reminder :
Donegal 2-12 Tyrone 0-17
with a last minute goal for Donegal to steal it. well done donegal
Kerry 2-21 Wicklow 2-08
Handy enough as we thought.
The first silverware of the season is done and dusted.

The biggest travesty in GAA history ever when plucky Louth were within seconds of winning their first Leinster title in 10000000000 years (50) and then this happened......

cheaty Meath cheat their way to silver. Square ball AND carried the ball over the line.
The Dubs are flying. Two brilliant saved from Connaughton. both from shots from Connolly.
0-3 to no score

ouch...
those boys over at RTE are very funny:
1601 Monaghan's Dick Clerkin gets a second yellow card and is sent off. Clerkin start a Twitter sensation this week when tweeting for the best GAA cliches and a fantastic response. Here's a great sporting one. 'Early bath'.

a free there for Baaaaaaarnard 0-4 to no score in 10 minutes.
The asian champions are letting the dubs run at them despite Laois winning a decent amount of ball in the middle

Half-time: Cork 3-08 Waterford 1-06
1609 Waterford win a penalty on the stroke of half-time and Gary Hurney converts. Much better from Waterford in the latter part of the first half. Cork 3-08 Waterford 1-06
GOAL - WATERFORD - GARY HURNEY
nothing happening in croker. lots of lying on the ground at the moment

I called the Laois keeper Connaughton earlier. his name is Eoin Culliton. apologies to the culliton clan.
they said he made three top class saves in the first half......not just top class...WORLD class.
I wouldn't expect anything else from the Asian number one.

They have another couple if they play their cards right. I am not too pleased about letting in two goals, but really this was always going to be a nothing game.
More Connacht titles for the sheepsteelers?
nobody wants it this year.
Laois his a few scores 1-7 to 0-8
Ross Munnelly at it again.

Alan Brogan given MOTM. I think diarmuid connolly has had a great game and has been incredibly unlucky not to have had 3 goals.
Culliton must have pulled off 4 saves that very few other keepers would have got.
1-16 to 1-11
1-10 from play for the dubs.

2-2 for daniel. a fairly even spread of scorers by the look of it.
I forgot all about the Gaelic Gaelic games competition this weekend. The finals on tomorrow.
I am watching it now on tg4.no idea who is playing....I assume Ballina are one team?

Absolutely gutted
We were hard done by I think, by the bryan farrel red and the chopped off goal (what a way that would've been for him to shoot down the sceptics, including myself). I can't see any telly footage here, what exactly was he sent off for anyway? Two harsh decisions imo after which we never came back from, seems like we were getting our just deserts after our last minute try last year....
Still, well played to kildare, despite kicking all those wides they still managed to come back for the win.
Hopefully we'll do far better in the qualifiers.

Re: Live Scores- 4-5/6/11 silverware saturday-shape up sunday
The sending off was for a little love tap to the back of the head. Nothing at all in it. nobody complained and nobody cared. Technically the right decision but in practice it wasn't.
Square ball........it was close. very harsh to call it. But nobody like Geraghty, so it is hard to be impartial about it all.
The right team did win.
Pride restored from a Meath perspective.

from someone at the game:
"On another note Cadogan was definitely targetted by the blaas who were intent in winding him up. Thankfully he didn't rise to it and had a fine game."
the two teams playing are Belmullet from Mayo and Cloughaneely from Donegal....
Cloughaneely are winning. I had to wait till half time to find out who they were.

Thanks cari *sniff*.
Aye, I'd say kildare definately deserved to win, but those decsions really ruined our day. Dissapointed we only managed 10 pts but at least in terms of the scoreline it wasn't as bad as some people were saying, I predicted a 5pt defeat, so about right.
I've got more confidence in geraghty now though, read on hoganstand yesterday that he rejoined the senior team because he really had the belief he'd do well. with that, and what he did today, I'll be looking for some good football from him in the qualifiers.
Congrats to Cork btw, this years munter final ought to be a right hard battle.

Does anyone know the "square ball rule"...............does all of you have to be in or only some of you........is the line "in the square" or out.......then there is the ball?.... does the whole ball have to be over the whole of the line to be "in the square"???
And do the umpires know the rules??...........................

Cork in first gear, win by eighteen points.Happy days. Kerry a different animal altogether but still a win is a win. Geraghty is making EBS bankrupt but he was robbed of that goal(see what I did there 8) ) Karma is a funny old thing. Apparently Miskella scored a goal from around 40 yards out!

Hurling qualifier draw
PRELIMINARY ROUND:
Saturday 18 June:
Antrim v Westmeath
Laois v Cork
PHASE ONE:
Saturday 25 June:
Laois or Cork v Offaly
Antrim or Westmeath v Carlow
Watching TSG now and the lads (McStay and Davis) chose the same lads as me for potential motm's in the dubs game.....not difficult i suppose.
stephen O'neill scored a couple of lovely points for Tyrone. I don't know why Dick Clerkin was sent off. The first booking is a mystery and the second was a joke.
Dessie Mone sent off for a nasty clothesline just at the end. a funny thing just at the end was Paul Finlay and i think Davy Harte pushing and shoving each other as the ref blew for full time. straight into a handshake as they realised it was FT.
real people.....real sport

pffft 40 yards...
55 metres (wind assisted)
Goulding's first was an absolute beauty. 7 passes and a lovely finish.

Thankfully though it seems like banty and the team are taking it on the chin like real men and not going to be greetin over it. Sending off was a complete joke, haven't heard anyone say the ref got that one right. Funnily enough the square ball incident also involved joe sheridan who passed to geraghty-

Billy - you can do what I do - listen in on the radio live via the GAA media player then watch the RTÉ highlights on the International iPlayer from Wednesday onwards.

Or find a good Irish pub that shows games.

Re: Live Scores- 4-5/6/11 silverware saturday-shape up sunday
Well done Gaelic and Rebel on the commentary. I was at the game and it was actually worse than the scoreline suggests. Totally dominant and very disappointed at Limerick's performance. I would'nt read too much into the game even if we looked very good going forward. Our problems are through the middle from midfield back. We will win nothing with that half back line and Marc O Sé at full-back. O Sé is wasted there and is much more effective on the corner or wing. We won midfield against Limerick but will not win it against Cork with Sheehan & Maher there. However if we could solve the problems at full and centre half we might win games with 40% possession at midfield. Probably wishful thinking though.
