And yet people say United don't need to address their central midfield, as an urgency. Imagine Wayne, Bastian & Fellaini next season

Penalties! Still backing Italy and the great Buffon.

Don't often see Germany bottling a penalty shootout.

Re: Euro 2016 Discussion
Think Kimmich's penalty was the best of the lot.
Buffon will be very disappointed to not save a couple that he got a hand on.
Probably a deserved victory for Germany - France up next....or Iceland?

Suspect the Germans will go on and win it now, France have been pretty disjointed up to now.

It was a funny walk-up, but surely Graziano's is the best moment, states to Neuer with a hand gesture included, that he's going to dink it over him with a chip. Walks up, scuffs it & it dribbles at snail pace past the left hand post.
Talk about embarrassing

Re: Euro 2016 Discussion
Bloody hell! Why have the Germans never been this bad when England have faced them in penalty shoot-outs?
There were a few on both sides that were just plain comical.
Feel for Italy, but think Germany just about deserved the win. Should be interesting to see how they get on against the hosts. Not actually seen France play yet, so have no idea what they're like.

Pretty average. They got two OAP full backs that offer nothing, we usually see Pogba doing pointless tricks, with no end product, Matuidi looking like a league two player, Giroud being Giroud & only Payet looking like he knows what he's doing.

And Griezmann when used correctly showing actual world class level skill.

Wouldn't totally rule out Iceland doing a Senegal/Greece tonight.
If they can shut France out for the opening half hour, the pressure may be too much for the French.

Hopefully Moussa Sissoko has one of his very rare good games for France tonight, then Liverpool come in like mugs & bid £15m-£20m.

If West Ham keep Payet this summer then that's the best bit of business done.

Iceland defence is really slow... Not as tough as they were against England or Portugal for that matter. A game too many for Iceland, shame as they should be proud of their Euro.

Indeed. France showing how to break down defensive teams...with embarrassing ease.
Makes me want to cry when I think how England struggled.
France look like they're peaking at the right time. With the 2nd half a mere formality they can afford to rest players and take it easy. Should be in good shape for the semi.

Got to admire Iceland's never-say-die spirit. They kept fighting right to the end.
Hope they and their fans are still proud of themselves for what they've achieved.
France's defence does look a bit suspect. Think Germany will cause them a lot more problems.

Crap? Behave. Gotze has been misused and mismanaged since he left BVB. He's a number 10 or a left winger. Don't see where the German management decided he was the man to become a false 9 or a striker....GSC wrote:That's more because Gotze is kinda crap

Most of the best sides in the Bundesliga have international strikers.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:I do wonder where the great German striker has gone though. Is Gomez really all there is?
FC Bayern: Lewandowski
BVB: Aubameyang
Leverkusen: Chicharito
Max Kruse would've been first choice striker but for disciplinary reasons, but again he's not exactly Gerd Muller...

Re: Euro 2016 Discussion
I'd stick Thomas Muller as the main striker, whilst he's better as the second striker he can and has played as the out and out, it'd then also allow Gotze to play as the number 10 to support him.
