New season is just around the corner!
Yikes, is it that long ago that the 2010-11 Premier League season finished
New set of fixtures due out on Friday 17th June (less than TWO weeks away) .....
..... and the first batch of telly games to be sorted out by the 1st of July
So; have a pick who you'd like in the first game ... and who you wouldn't?
Any guesses as to when the "completely random" computer selection will throw up a Super Sunday of all top-4/5/6 clashes?
And who will get paired together for the final couple of weekends in May 2012?
And does everybody believe that it is all done completely randomly,
..... or have you got a really good (and original) conspiracy theory?
Feel free to be as creative as you like!
Edit - if I can add a vote later, and we get a few good theories I might do one

It seems like more often than not there is at least one weekend that throws up a couple of high profile derbies, or throws together the top 4 all playing each other.
I reckon Sky have a word in the ear of the premier league and ask them to fix a cheeky 'Grand Slam Sunday' in the middle of the year.

I think we'll probably see one of the promoted sides facing a Big 6 side on the opening day, so one of United, Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Tottenham or Liverpool.

I'm hoping we get a good home game to start the season, someone like Bolton or Wigan. And then an away game that we can pick up some points from too.
Nothing like a bit of early season confidence!

Not allowed to copy the new fixtures as we get the whole site in trouble but they're out now and BBC Sport have the full 38 weeks posted in the usual PL fixtures place ..... not posting link in case the SkyPolice are on the lookout for that as well
I guess the first headline games are in week two with Liverpool travelling to the Emirates and Spurs heading north to Old Trafford.....
..... and Spurs could complete a Manchester double at home to City the following week
Chelsea don't get a so-called 'big' game until week 5 when they go north to play the reigning champions.
Wonder what the odds of Chelsea getting a SIX on the scoreboard this season before September is out ...
.... remember they notched up 2 sixes in August last season against West Brom and Wigan
..... they've got early games against WBA (again) and Norwich this time round

westisbest, you're not allowed to quote fixtures ..... the PL legal bods take it very badly if we type the names of football teams in the same order as they've
... and btw West Brom host the reigning champions on the first day
... and then they have to go to Chelsea the following week ..... any odds WBA bottom after first 2 weeks??

I don't really understand why it is a copyright issue if people list the teams and fixtures...it's not like it isn't public knowledge anyway!
Surely it's good for the game that people know when the matches will actually be played...
I look forward to next years super secret fixture list when you're just given a time and a date and if you turn up it's a lottery to who you're playing.

Sorry.
As long as Villa get off to a winning start.
Hope to be at Craven Cottage again.
