Celtic league rivalries Empty Celtic league rivalries

Post by Kingshu Sat 05 Nov 2016, 4:58 pm

Stumbled across this, from myself a few years ago

Rivalries certainly do make the league more interesting, and we need these to develop outside of the derbies, inter pros.

So over the years have they increased/died off, or new ones developed?

In the previous article we had, (outside the derbies, inter pros)

Scarlets V Munster, Leinster, Ulster and Edinburgh
Munster V Ospreys
Dragons v Glasgow
Ulster V Scarlets and Ospreys
Leinster V Ospreys

So are these bigger better badder, or died, have new ones developed?

Speaking as an Ulster supporter, I enjoy nothing more than beating Glasgow, closely followed by Leinster. There's something about Glasgow that fires up Ulster. Apparently Tuohy was asked in a meet the players event, which team he hated the most and he replied that it was Glasgow. It was probably a bit tongue in cheek, but Ulster do tend to show a bit of spite when playing them, and it is reciprocated.

Just a shame Ulster didn't reserve a bit of spite for all PRO12 sides....

The side I would pay good money to see us destroy is of course Sarries.
