Re: England v Fiji, 19 November
31, and that goose was shot many years ago sadly. File under Croft.
As it is his injuries gave Brown a chance (if only the management had been ahead of the curve on that one eh ) and to be fair its not like weve done bad off him.
In the near future I dont see a change happening, unless theres further injuries. Haley got cut pretty early in the process. All fit you have Brown as the first choice whos still plenty young enough to do the Lions and world cup as that, and Watson/Nowell/Daly offering options from within the core group. Thats also assuming that Goode is just a "stop gap" second choice...which isnt certain.
All fit its hard to see where Haley gets a cap at the moment, and his absence form the core training group doesnt suggest that Jones is overly bothered about that currently.

Re: England v Fiji, 19 November
Need a better start this week.
If we can start strong and get early points then very quickly Fiji will begin to throw the Hail Mary passes and get loose.
If we gift penalties and keep them in it then they'll grow in confidence.
No more dg attempts from Ford please either

Gents,
Let us not get ahead of ourselves. As soon as you start thinking about hat tricks and fat boys scoring first you jinx the whole thing. Just remember Fiji gave Australia a difficult ride in the RWC (in Cardiff - of course the roof was closed). Let's play our game. Remain calm, all is well............

Re: England v Fiji, 19 November
Anyone know how late you can make a change to the squad if someone pulls up injured?
I think Jonathan Davies was replaced on the same day as the Australia Test, after his hamstring played up. Wondering whether this is possible any time before kick-off, or if there's a time limit.
Not trying to jinx England but the thought occurred to me, given we have a few players who only got the all-clear late in the day.

If it's like the Prem then almost right up to the game, the team will probably take a 24th player just in case

Re: England v Fiji, 19 November
Just watching the SA game highlights and Youngs makes so many half breaks around the ruck all game.
You have to think that Fiji will be ready for that now though, i'd like to see Youngs getting the ball early to Ford and giving him space now, hopefully the Fijian ruck guards will be watching Youngs and Firs can cause some havoc.
If not then let's get Goode into the line more often and/or bring Roko through the middle, we do lack some size in the backs so he needs to be used.

Until the team sheet is handed to the ref you can make any changes you want for any reason.
After that point (and that is usually less than an hour before kick-off) it can only be for an injury caused at the last minute (ie in warm ups) and may have to be independently assessed.

Huge game for Harrison, really hope he gets stuck in, never good to see someone get subbed after 30.

Got 9-1 on Jon Joseph as first try scorer, guaranteed that it will be Dan Cole now. I shouldn't be allowed to bet, I am useless at it.

I just got very good odds on Phil Vickery being the first to score. Suckers.

Phil's on the bench so Eddie can prolong his best a bit for the next World Cup. Foolish move, George.

Hey guys, would anyone be able to pm me a link for the game? Thank you all. Excited to see Roko get another shot, if I had money to bet I'd put him down for two tries

PS JJ is a class act of a centre now...quality attacker but more importantly becoming a real defensive leader out there.

Doesn't sound like this match is going to tell us very much, apart from the fact that we can score good tries

Yes LIW. It'll be interesting to see if we can keep to our structure and avoid just opening it up...
Harrison has had a quiet start but has been getting pressure on the right places.

Half time...
I can help thinking despite being so far ahead...two tries conceded at the end and being under the cosh....Jones will be reading them the riot act!

Difficult to stay sharp when they are so far ahead. As others have said this game won't really tell us much about England that we don't already know.

True, and it should be expected, it shows a tad lack of respect to the opposition to switch off.

Replaces Harrison. I suspect you wont see him in an England shirt for quite some time now!
