This is true She looks quite frail, but she must be tough enough to get straight back up.
Still hard to believe a player could be so stupid. Banned for 3 years, although it should probably have been a life ban. I suppose that's the end of his playing days though.

Re: Lengthy Ban For Player on Referee
I had a mate who got banned for life for punching a ref. He said it was because the opposition team were constantly taking cheap shots and the ref wasn't doing anything about it despite his complaints. Still - he was(is) on the large side of fookin massive.
He had a similar issue at a drinks do at our workplace where to cut a long story short he got glassed by another member of staff after stepping in to break up an argument. Unfortunately the courts had trouble understanding why the (normal sized) offender would attack said giant. Workplace fortunately had other ideas and kicked the bumhole out pronto (and paid for replacement glasses)

There's no excuse for striking a ref. Hope you let your giant mate know how disappointed you were

That is f**king bad and sinister. In fact, police should have been called in rather than a ban. There is just something very ugly in that - in the intent. There is not the remotest chance that he made a mistake. He knew who he was hitting, her neck kicked back quite violently, the ball was a million miles away.
Circumstantial evidence seems to direct me to thinking he was a bad basterde with a dislike of a female ruling the roost. Seems he wanted to teach her a lesson on how tough the man's game is.

I thought that maybe he felt she was in the way and decided to teach her a lesson, but who knows? Whatever the reason, it was such a stupid, and dangerous, thing to do. She was diagnosed with whiplash, but it could have been much worse.
