Toulon vs Sale 15th January 2017
Sale have rested a few players but currently lead Toulon 5-7 after half an hour.
Toulon need a try bonus point out of this, and you'd think Sale's recent form gives them a good chance. Toulon's scrum looks pants.

Sale are big up front. They tend to tire. Great to see their backline full of EQ talent and about half of which has come through the academy.
Great 100% effort from Sale who know they have nothing to lose.

That is an absolutely SHOCKING decision by the ref to sin bin the sale player for that tackle!!!!!!
What on earth are the players to do now ...he went low and hard for gods sake!!!!
Rugby is in serious trouble if this is the way we are going!!!

Not watching this game but I would be amazed if Sale are allowed to do anything today that might interfere with the big money teams making the last 8.

Just turned it on to see the yellow card. First you could not tackle around the head; common sense. Then you cannot tackle around the shoulder; bit less common sense. Now you cannot tackle around the knees in case the player goes over the top of you if you cannot keep hold of his legs or he jumps into the tackle.
The ball carrier has to take some responsibility for his own safety, if he jumps into a tackle and goes over the top, his problem. In addition he is endangering the tacklers head, are we going to send off ball carriers for their knees coming into contact with the tacklers head? Referees are becoming a laughing stock with the decisions they are making and being forced to make.

Terrible decision from the TMO who basically pushed the ref into the yellow card. Allowed Toulon to grab two late scores.
Sale's youngsters were excellent. There's a lot of confidence for them to take into next week.

The annoying with Clancy was that originally he'd made the correct decision and played on. It was when the TMO got involved that he decided it was foul play. It wasn't foul play and it wasn't reckless.

It is no longer that the ref has to police the tackle, but he now seems to have to be seen to police the tackle, much to the detriment of the game.

Re: Toulon vs Sale 15th January 2017
Joke of a yellow card that, only dangerous part of that tackle was the attacking player jumping into the tackle. Real shame for the game, doubt Sale would have won but basically gave the try bonus to Toulon.
Was good to see Sale playing well, if (big if) they keep it up and take it into the Premiership the words Sale and relegation should disappear for this season.
