NSW fullback for Origin 2
What an inspired selection Anthony Minichiello is as replacement fullback for the injured Josh Dugan.Thank the lord the Blues selectors didn't pick that prima donna Jarrod Hayne(although I see he's squeaked in as a replacement winger for the injured Morris). Anthony Minichiello is playing his best football for years despite the Roosters being bloody awful this year, and he's an allround good bloke too, something Mr Hayne could copy!

Good luck to him - probably a swansong call up since Brett Stewart is only just back from injury and is getting his steam up again. He'd be my first pick, fully fit over Dugan and Minnie.
The Hayne selection on the wing is a little strange considering he is better at fullback and Sticky made a point of selecting Hopoate over Idris since Jamal was not a left side centre 'specialist'...and Hoppa has been playing fullback!
Lot's of injuries this last week - ironically, I like the look of this side better than the Origin 1 side!

When you have the last 2 NSW FB's already on route why would you call up the 2005 FB? As a good luck charm?
Does Sticky hate Jamal Idris?
1, Hayne
2, Hopate
3, Idris
4, Gasnier
5, Uate (how was he not suspended?)
How hard was that?

Not hard at all Bicester...your selection makes the most sense - if we want to win the next game. Nothing against Minichello but he is well past it, his team is in ordinary form...and he seems to have lost a few kgs too.
I heard Thurston having a go a Soward yesterday .... called him an OK club half-back but said he was too inexperienced at Origin level (obviuosly!) I tend to agree with him...but who else?
It's a pity Kieran Foran doesn't qualify...he's got the right stuff for sure. Tough as teak, has a deft foot and can kick tactically (and long range); he is a very fearless 'hit it up' type of h/back who has decent passing/offload skills as well. The kid will go far!

I'd go with Pearce and Carney at 7 and 6, Carney's had his problems but he's got the X factor needed to win big games. I'd also go with Farah at 9 as he also has the required X factor.
Daly Cherry Evans and Foran amaze me, so young and so composed. TBF they play a simple game plan and are well coached; get go forward off their pack and pass the ball to the backs, something that seems to be dying out in the NRL!
